Hi Nikki, I love the way you have developed your style. I know you inspire so many of your viewers. I think we all can create the look and style we want that will make us feel good. I grew up during the 1940's and 1950's, 60's too when most people had modest means but yet they put so much thought into how they dressed. Please keep showing us the wonderful pieces you purchase because this really encourages us to keep developing our own style.
I live in Switzerland, with very cold winters and i love wearing dresses. My secret is to wear wool or wool/ silk underlayers. Tanktops or T-shirt/ longsleve- shirt to wear under the dresses. They are very warm but do not bulk under the dresses. One brand is caled: intimissimi and they have them in all kind of colours. So i can even wear the longsleave ones under a short sleave dress and it matches like it would be a part/ the sleave of the dress. Thank you for sharing your ideas🙏🏻🎄
So enchanting, classic coats! My favourite one is 24 years old dark grey long, flared, very classic and warm wool coat. I bought it right after we got married. I have worn it so much that it really has passed its prime... I am planning to try to sew a similar one if I can find a wool fabric in right color. Burgundy or navy blue would be lovely. When it is VERY cold I love to add a long "thermo-skirt" with a long zipper under my coat. It is almost invisible there but adds so much warmth and is really practical. It is almost like a blanket you wrap around you and close it with that long zipper which opens all the way. I love being outside on these crisp, bright winter days when everything is sparkling white. And of course it is nice to do it with style whenever possible😊 Thank you for inspiration!
Chiming in from cold Minnesota. One thing to keep in mind when looking for cold weather clothing is natural fabrics. Synthetic fabrics like polyester are pretty much useless. However, wools and linens not only look and feel amazing they are also functional and will keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. ❄️💜 As always you look lovely.
I could not agree more!😊 Bare thought of synthetics against my skin makes me freeze... I have even found underwear in very delicate merinowool-silk-blend and they are the best! So wonderfully warm in winter and absolutely best in hot weather. On a trip to the Philippines I took with me underwear in all kinds of materials (cotton, synthetics etc) because I had never experienced so warm, humid weather and did not know what would work best. The silk-merino blend was the winner! Even though I was sweating so much in that tropical weather, they felt very comfortable thanks to those amazing materials. (And the synthetics were like a nightmare...)
Love the peacock blue coat its so lovely on you. In Maine where I live layers are everything to me when going outside. Long silk like leggings and a tank to match. Is what I wear this time of year with my dresses.
My suggestion is the J. Crew Lady Day coats. The current version on their website has a covered buttons panel but the previous styles can often be found on Poshmark.
This video came at a good time. We do not have a fireplace, but we do like to have hot drinks around our bonfire. My husband just cut up a bunch of wood too from our own woods. I am waiting for my new coat and dress to arrive from Dainty Jewell's. I have been looking for winter coats to go over my dresses. I hope it works. I love the dresses offered on Dainty Jewell's. I am right under 5 ft, so it is hard for me to find clothes to fit me properly.Thank you for the tip about what to wear under the dresses during winter.I have been only wearing modest dresses outside my house for the past 3 years, but have always had trouble deciding what to wear under my dresses during the winter without looking silly.
I love all your videos! I usually watch on my roku TV so don't comment too often since it means getting on my computer to do so. Here are a few thoughts on the last few videos. Thank you for sharing the highs and lows. I LOVE your new coat; it so goes with your eyes! Fleece tights make me uncomfortable, so I often wear jeggings. These work great with my two sweater dresses. I have a beautiful camel coat that I bought at a thrift shop several years back. The other camel coat was a classic and I had for over 30 years. Since I can no longer button it, I did pass it on, It was in wonderful shape. During really cold weather, I do wear a shapeless long down coat. I walk regardless of weather, so I find this works for me. Also, as to your lovely hair--since I wear hats for my walks, I do not care for my hair this time of year. You are an inspiration and I will look forward to seeing how you do during the deep winter. Having a fire is wonderful! Years ago, I had a great classic wood stove and loved getting close in the evenings. Also my kitchen was quite chilly, so I used to bring my baby's little tub in front of the fire.
I have a really long wool coat that I invested in a couple maybe more years ago, and I wear it all the time. Its Green, and I get many complements! It is like a big warm blanket. I really like your coat! It looks really good on you! Your style is so like mine!
Hello Nikki, I invested in a navy wool coat a handful of years ago ; it has an asymmetrical gold zipper, a belt and pockets which are essential for me. I start wearing driving gloves (kids Under Armour base layer) when it’s about 55 degrees; my hands will tell me it’s cold and dry if I forget to wear them. Have you found new hats? My wool hats are essential to staying warm outside Lake Michigan when we have bitter windchill weather.
You look wonderful in your new coat! It was nice to get a glimpse of your husband! He did a great job making the box for your kindling! Your hair looks lovely today! Enjoy the concert tonight! ❤
You great in your 1st teal coat. Thank you for pointing us to the vintage website. Wow, beautiful retro style clothing that is so feminine and glamorous. I think you would also suit 1930's style bias cut dresses, as they flow around the body and show off the curves and would look fab with your wavy hairstyle.
I love all your coats! Can you please link your long johns, muk luk soaks and the high boots you wear or advise where you got them? I need some layers to wear under my dresses for winter! Thank you, Nikki!
Your coats are beautiful! I know that you said that the second one you had on had a cheaper, felt like material, but it does look gorgeous on you! It looks so feminine and lovely! ❤
Nikki, your hair cut is so beautiful on you! It brings out your beautiful eyes! Oh, I love the coat. I'll have to check out their website! Merry Christmas!! Love and hugs, Jeanie xxoo

Hi Nikki, All the Coats are beautiful and elegant😍 I only added a thrifted Coat I found at Goodwill this year. It was 40% off on top of being affordable already. I love brooches too. I have a ceramic winter scenic brooche I wear this time a year. I do the same layering as you for many years now as I've always lived in places with cold winters. Stay cozy!👋

The berry red one does. It's a vibrant color with a beautiful shape. They comment about it being a beautiful coat or the whole outfit/hair/presentation etc. The last time I wore it out, in just one store I received over 10 compliments. I had never been stopped so many times before 🎄

Thank you, I'm so glad to hear that you're inspired. What a wonderful thing to experience 🎄
I like that wood idea. What a blessing. ❤ You have a knack for working pretty colors like neutrals. It's refreshing with so much "safe" dreariness.
Thank you 🎄
