I don't know if I'd go that far, but I do wonder just how many people really, really listened all the way through, honestly.
It's pretty self-indulgent stuff.
Very technically skilled players, but I certainly don't get anything from this music.
I like a bit of jazz here and there, and perhaps I'm misguided, but I do enjoy some melody and a bit more structure to my music.
It's no coincidence that jazz at its peak of popularity managed to combine great musicianship with some good tunes to go with it.
