    I totally forgot to mention that I also cured these through from the under side too 🙈🙈🙈 Also, the one that looks like a red flower was the same way but I swirled the middle as forgot on the top one 😂

    Daniel! *_WHY_* are you apologizing?!? 😲 You did several experiments for us...for FREE! Now we know what works, what doesn't! You know this would have cost us a good chunk of change had we had to do it ourselves!
    So, THANK YOU! 💕😊💕 I truly appreciate what you do for us. ❤👍🙏

      Daniel, I need to get a mould release spray to spray my moulds before I put resin in but don't know which to buy, there are so many different options and I haven't a clue, please can you advise, I would be very grateful, oh and what do I do with moulds that produce 'dull' finished pieces? Do I bin the mould and buy a new one? Your help and advice would be much appreciated xx

    • @fairyspunfibers9098
      @fairyspunfibers9098 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Julie Chambers
      Well, I'm not Daniel (sorry!) but whatever mold release spray you use, make SURE it is 100% silicone! I think my brand is Apel, or something like that...works great! I can't get Daniel's brand as I'm in the States.
      As for binning old molds, you can, BUT if you should ever make your own silicone molds (it's VERY easy), you can cut your old molds into small pieces and place inside the frame for a new mold. Maybe up to about 1/2 the volume, or a bit less. This tech saves you HUGE amounts of money. Old silicone bonds with new and makes perfectly good molds! *CAVEAT!* The old, cut up molds can NOT be colored with mica powders (does not adhere to other silicone!), and probably you should just never color your molds, anyway. HTH?

    Some of these are really pretty! In my experience, you’re taking your chances when curing a thick load of UV resin. Tends to have weird eruptions and bubbles. I’ve also tried the liquid pigments in UV and it messed with the curing. I’ve had better luck with mica and with alcohol ink but blowing off the alcohol and mixing the pigment in well.

    I tried alcohol inks with UV. Had the same problems. I tested the inks. I placed some drops of alcohol ink in a small mold. I thought the alcohol ink would evaporate. I let the ink set 24 hours. It did not dry up and leave color behind. Instead it left a "oily" residue, and did not dry up. I even used a blow dryer to heat it up, but it never really dried.

    Great experiments, Daniel. I think Let’s Resin has some colorant for UV resin. Maybe they will send you a couple of colors to try. Are you using their Hard uv resin or the soft? I think they have an original, too. I can’t think what I would want soft for.
