That’s great you’re getting those results with UV resin, I wouldn’t have thought that would work at all.😆 But, I don’t know much about UV resin.😂 I had a thought that might make curing the underside easier. If you have an old picture frame that you can take the glass out of and just use cups or something as ‘legs’ to hold it up.. put the mold on that, then just slide the UV lamp underneath it. I always enjoy your experiments Daniel. Great job!

I'm definitely going to have to try this! Thank you so much for experimenting with this technique using UV Resin! I'm fairly new to working with UV, but I had an idea while watching this video that I thought I'd share. It may be easier for you to cure the bottom of the mold if you place the mold on top of a cookie cooling rack (one that has fairly tall legs so you can easily slide the UV lamp under it without touching the rack). That way you can just move the lamp around to the top/bottom as needed without needing to touch the mold.

Giving this a try tonight, Daniel! Woo-HOO! I have really struggled to do *anything* like this with my UV, and...blobs. Nuttin' but ugly blobs and no swirls, and even my blobs weren't nearly as nice looking as yours! 😄l THANK YOU SO MUCH for figuring this out! 😊❤
P.S. Considering how inexpensive the mold currently is, maybe you could get another one and cut it apart? Might make it easier to cure...but maybe it would wobble too much. Hmmm. Might be worth it to make our own silicone molds if we could find translucent silicone!

Hi Daniel, I love your pen neon effect video, it reminds me of jewelry of the Sixties. But I use uv resin, I found that if you cure your pieces fully, then turn over still in the mold and put under the lamp, it will fully cure. I find that you have to cure uv about 6 minutes or more under the lamps. Thank you for your vides

This is fascinating and definitely something I'm going to try as im still experimenting. I wonder if a peice of clear perspex may solve the issue of the mould flexing, it would give more stability to lift it if curing from the underside first. Also I use a microwaveable hotwater bottle pad to keep my resin warm as I found I was too slow on wiping the water off the pots with my gumpy thumbs. 😁

Your work is beautiful 😍. Thank you so much for sharing!!! These videos have helped my husband and I expand our knowledge of this craft. We've just started a few months ago... What brand of the dye do you suggest?🤔 We have been using the brand "let's resin" ... The hard type... But we haven't got into dyes yet. We like it still having issues with bubbles. We haven't tried the alcohol spray yet... We do like the grill lighter though. But it doesn't seem to get the bubbles further down in the resin. Sometimes that's frustrating lol.
