- BABY POWDER In RESIN?! This Experiment BLEW ME AWAY!
Here is a Resin Art video of me experimenting with baby powder in UV resin, whatever next?! I really can't believe how these turned out! Please do not try this on a bigger scale until I have tested as it may not work the same. This is why I love experimenting with different things in my resin art! 😍

I am fully aware of the risks of working with resin products and aim to give you great tutorials in a safe way. I film in a very ventilated area and keep risks to myself low. I would always recommend you to wear full PPE based on the data sheets for the chemicals you are using 😊😊😊.

Baby powder in The US is now made with cornstarch. I couldn't tell from the bottle you held up whether yours is that or talc. If it's cornstarch, it would be even cheaper to buy it in the baking aisle without the added fragrance. Very interesting idea!
Cornstarch is exactly what I was thinking of using!
Yes, mine was talc, I will try cornstarch next 😊
Cornstarch in baby powder is milled a lot finer than what you get on the bakery aisle. It might make a difference.
All because the American freedom to sue lol
@@user-eb6dy3hy9d If inhaled, talc can be a carcinogen. Talc is a mineral in the same family as asbestos. Yes, people in America do love to sue, but this one was definitely necessary. Are people in your country not allowed to sue a company that knowingly marketed their product as "safe" when they knew it was sketchy?
I love the black and red heart. It looks like a gothic rose. So, one person sees a blob mistake and another sees perfection! I love your videos.
Gorgeous, even the ones you didn't like because "blobs". I thought those looked like roses and the "blobs" were just where a petal had folded
I just started working with resin a few weeks ago and since I am cheap, I have been using my old eyeshadows that aren't safe to use. I've gotten some interesting effects.
I do this as well
I’m going to try that!!
What a brilliant way if using up old unsafe makeup. No reason it shouldn't work so longs youvmix it really well. Some makeup is actually baked isn't it to create those warmer tones. So that should definitely break down nicely. If it remains clumpy simply grind it in a cheap pestle and morter.
I think maybe a higher viscocity resin next time for less risk of blobbing, so happy with the depth in these!
Honestly that came out really Great ! i am gonna try and experiment with it myself , You definitely have a great idea ,THANK YOU FOR SHARING 🫶🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I like it!❤
I may have to use you saying viscocity if I ever have to use it in a sentence, while speaking 😂 That's only one of the words I have trouble with.
Either that...or listen to you say it before I say it each time, so I can remember how it's pronounced 😂
I just heard you say it on the last vid I watched and, even now, I can't recall if it's said as viskocity or vis-sauce-ity. I deff need help lol.
I was, also, wondering what I could use in place of baby powder and cornstarch, which can have the same consistency. I can't use cornstarch, as I'm allergic to corn.
ground down piece of chalk ? @@ladarmoore1342
I think the blob gives the illusion of the rose moving in suspended animation. Looks really good.
Looking good, Daniel... You're the mad scientist with resin and we love you for it!
Thank you 😊 Love experimenting 😊
That is beautiful like a red rose
I think your the only resin artist that pushes the boat out every time, most just work with the same molds and it does become monotonous, trying not to be rude but you inspire so many, glad to see your subs growing, you do deserve the recognition.
Thank you so much 🥰
I used talc mixed into ordinary 5-minute epoxy adhesive as an experiment in making diffusers for LED displays. It worked surprisingly well!
Awesome! Well done 😁😁😁🤩
Where did you find talc, please

My University lecturer always said “there is no such thing as a bad experiment"• My 6-7 yr old class would always write up the ifs and the whys and conclude.
Life is like a heart of resin, you never know what you're gonna get.
This is so worthwhile. Yes in the UK we can get pigment paste but it's actually really expensive. 6-10 quid isn't a huge amount but if you want 10 colours it soon adds up. What with alcohol ink and liquid dyes it's hard to afford every option to play around with. But you're giving us means to create our own for pence not pounds. So its achievable for everybody everywhere. Great work and thank you.
Thanks 😊 More testing to come 😊
You could just get a few primary colors, then mix them to create colors you don’t have & also custom colors. Use the color wheel. You got this.
I just seen a comment a lady was using old eyes shadows as her colour. You can pick up a cheap palette of colours of amazon or ebay. And I totally agree liquid is so so Dawn expensive for us brits. Mica powder is surprisingly good. I got 24. Bottles at 19gram each for under £20 recently. You only need a tiny amount for the color
This is so weird and useful- as you said, everyone has this lying around! I love the second red one, even blobby it was pretty. The black background on the other pieces is great!
Thanks Gale 😊🥰 I love being weird and useful 😂
Great results! Thank you!🤍❤️🖤
Those are so beautiful, especially the last set. I wonder how it would look if you put some gold or silver on the back area (flat part) after it sets up, and then cover the gold or silver with some type of clear sealer, maybe just clear epoxy? They would make a spectacular earrings and pendant set on a chain to match the back, either gold or silver.
Love watching your experiments never thought of using anything other than the original stuff thank you
Daniel you are brilliant as always. Awesome job and thank you for sharing
I loved the first ones without the color! I'm so glad I found you! I'm certain that I will learn a little from you!!! Thank you!!!!

AWESOME I yelled out loud! I definitely need to send you a cape! You are the Resin Superhero! A big RS on your shirt! I've called you a Resin Rock Star. I do like that description too! Thank you for sharing all your amazing ideas with us!
I love these they look really good
What a fantastic Idea!
Thank you! 😊
Well, I was going to suggest cornstarch, but others already have. 👍😊 Cornstarch is much lighter than talc, which is soft, ground rock. Maybe you wouldn't have to use the thick viscosity UV resin if you went with cornstarch? Also, cornstarch is generally more opaque and stays white.
This was a GREAT experiment! Thanks, Dan!
I have some arriving tomorrow to test 😊
I just stumbled onto your site & found it quite interesting & inspirational.
I certainly find your presentation humorous each time you say “Needs more work.” or “This one’s a failure.” I find the results of each of your tests quite lovely.
Thanks and welcome 😊🥰
Oh my goodness, absolutely gorgeous 😍
Thanks Kelly 😊
