Apnea is no joke, mouth pieces and pillow propped up, can help, but the Cpap machine works.

Ever since I was hit by a car 4yrs ago, knocked unconscious and suffered brain injury, I wake every 1-2 hrs throughout the night and I have been on endless search for cure without success. When you mentioned cardio that gives me one one more rode to travel!
I was a runner all my life until 10 years a go when I developed FAI and doctors told me to stop running because it was tearing up cartilage in my hip. They scheduled me for orthoscopic surgery, but I canceled surgery after researching outcome for older patients. I took up cycling to help get through depression from giving up a lifetime of running and discovered this made my hip feel better.
I give this brief history because I didn't have problem sleeping after giving up running, but I replaced my running with cycling so I was still getting lots of cardio. After my accident I spent a couple years on pain medication until I was able to wean myself off them and work my way out of the wheelchair. d Eventually got back onto my bicycle, but as soon as I started to get some distance I fell on my cycle and broke my wrist which sidelined me the rest of the year last year.
I have been riding now this year for a couple months and starting to get some distance and did sleep for 4 hour stretch the other night so maybe that was the result of addition of cardio into my life again.
I have recently returned to the gym and wanted to incorporate more lifting and not get too carried away with the cardio, but may need to paying closer attention to affects on my sleep patterns moving forward.
    Thanks again!

Hey guys! Thank you so much for this video. I haven’t slept good for almost 4-5 years now. Never feel rested in the morning. I can recall two times in the last year that I actually got up and was like, “Woah. I feel good. I feel rested. Is this what it’s supposed to feel like?”
I know you guys spoke about sleep studies and possible at home ones. Did you find any links or have any recommendations? I checked on Marek Health’s website but didn’t see anything. Thank you all!

Another note to Andrew’s mention of how his child sleeps: I sleep like that to this day and it’s got me fucked up. Can’t sleep any other way other than on my stomach (like his baby) and my neck it’s twisted like crazy. Always have neck pain too

Go to your Dr, get a sleep study. If you have sleep apnea, get CPAP machine and you will sleep normally. I fought it for years now I sleep like a baby. Sleep apnea is when your jaw/tongue slide back and cut off your wind pipe. Mouth piece can help but cpap machine is best in my experience.

I'm 31 and have sleep apnea after weight gain during pandemic. I already had a septal perforation so I'm already at a disadvantage for breathing thru my nose.
I try to wear the mask but it's hard, I still wake up a lot with it and then forget to put it back on. When I don't wear it I get THE CRAZIEST DRY MOUTH and wake up with a headache.

I worked nights for 3.5 years straight, and it feels like it eternally messed up my physiology. I've been working exclusively days for 6 months now and can't sleep for the life of me. I went like 3 months sleeping 3 hours a night before I caved and saw a doctor. Now I'm on trazodone and take benadryl intermittently and I'm up to 6 hours but of course still feel like shit. Also diagnosed with sleep apnea despite being lean etc., and I can't tolerate a cpap because my sleep is already trash. I don't want to try THC because it's known to reduce sleep quality further. My sleep problems not only make me feel physically bad but my mood is shot. Feeling desperate.

I went through almost the exact same thing, I worked in EMS for five years and worked 12 hour shifts overnights and just carried the same schedule on my days off and changed jobs to working days same thing with either no sleep or barely over an hour of sleep for months at a time. A few things that worked well for me was setting a defined wake up time and even if I didn’t sleep I’d get up at 5:30 every day and either go lift or do cardio almost immediately and I have a time that I go to bed and I still sometimes need something in the background but I won’t get up until I either need to go to the bathroom or the alarm goes off, I don’t drink caffeine after 11 AM, charlottes web CBD sleep and CBDMD sleep aide helped me out a lot, there’s a ton of discount codes for them both and taking a colder shower before bed also really helped. I hope this helps, I get how miserable it is not to be able to sleep and best of luck to you

I have the Sonomed mouthpiece discussed in here. The good thing is that it is adjustable in case you grind teeth, etc. I did get it from a dentist, it was over $2k but it was covered by insurance because of the apnea as verified by the sleep study.

The zero carbohydrate diet fixes my snoring almost immediately. When I add carbs back in, I snore. My wife has corroborated this. She used to sleep on the couch when it got bad.

Im 21 and have really been struggling with sleep apnea for the last 4 years. I “sleep” 8-10 hours a day but feel exhausted everyday when im realistically only getting 1-2 hours of quality sleep. This girl i was seeing has left me just because i was snoring to much at night and she couldn’t sleep with me. Really looking forward to this one.

Plenty of time for chicks who will actually have your back. Get some breathe right strips and mouth tape to help get things going in the right direction.

no sleep apnea but i have a problem of filling up my lungs properly, have to literaly put a pillow besides my back to have a extrmeely straight back/chest up, without it my chest would jsut cave into the matters and i would breath like the way you grasp air after being under the water for so long

I definitely felt better with no caffeine for those months I quit coffee. Steady energy vs this up and down I have now. I quit all PEDs - including TRT - a month ago. I wake up to piss multiple times a night - and I'm always thirsty in the evening!

I’ve recently starting using whoop again just for some type of insight even though I knew my recovery sucked. The hours itself is an issue due to working a corporate job where some shifts end at 7, should I have dinner before leaving? Where some mornings, only 3 at most start at 5 am to personal train for a few hours. It’s hard sometimes since my girlfriend that I live with would rather be up later and tends to sleep in. How ruthless do I need to be with a routine?

What are your thoughts on bicycling versus running.
My sleep sucks. Did a sleep study and it said I didn’t have sleep apnea but I think it’s bullshit. I was 350 at one point. No where near as strong as you Mark but I’m more muscular so definitely carried 350# differently but still a lot of weight. I’m now about 295# and losing weight. I’d like to get down to around 240#. Cardio is one area where I need to do better but at my size, and I know this sounds weak, but running just hurts.

Mark talks about walking as a good cardio. I'm a bit behind your progress in weight and yeah the joints hurt for running. Most people don't know how to run properly either so it's super high impact. Comparing to running it's so low impact you can do it everyday, only downside being the time it takes. I would check it out at least until you are a lower weoght

Fuckin two-fer today boys!! I gotta get a life lol also I shit like 3-4 times before breakfast almost daily and then I shit like maybe 2 more times before I go to bed lmao I will say I was not shitting like this when I was in worse shape so maybe it's a good thing sometimes? I don't know maybe I need a doctor. Also, Andrew, flawless wipe technique. Lastly, Pampers sensitive wipes are the wipes of the gods.
