Thank you all for the incredible discussions-there’s so much valuable insight to take home.
I firmly believe that no matter what challenges couples face in marriage, when they learn to honor and seek God’s presence, there’s no situation that can’t be overcome. As couples walk with God, their journey becomes much smoother.
Let’s unite in bringing godliness back into our marriages.
It pays to honour God in our marriages.

Great discussion timely for us…we value our marriage so we shall overcome this challenging emotional transition we are going through, these adversities together and looking forward to how God going to use it for His glory. May we respond Christlike so God can get the glory and we get the victory. Thank you!

If we stay in a miserable marriage and the husband won't do the counseling, what do you do then. Stay married and live separate lives living unhappily while it's affecting the children. I'm super lost in my marriage right now.

We're sorry to hear about your marital struggles, Staci. We’ll be praying, asking our Heavenly Father to fill you and your husband with His love and compassion. May He be the center of your marriage and family, and may He provide strength and guidance as you look to Him. If you feel it might be helpful, we invite you to talk about your situation with one of our counselors (at no cost to you). Please call 855-771-HELP (4357) weekdays between 6 A.M. and 8 P.M. (MT) -- we’d be happy to come alongside you in any way we can. -Emily F.

You know Christian counselors need to recognize that abuse exists and acknowledge the existence of narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths. Counseling will not change these dangerous personality types.
If you are in an abusive marriage, and that’s what’s causing your misery, then you need to get a divorce and work with a counselor who understands abuse.

I just want my “homemaker” wife to get up in the morning, clean the house and cook the meals. Any advice on that?

Typically, women are ready to go to a counselor, but the husband refuses to go. IMO, a wife going to counseling alone, will accomplish very little. Basically, one spouse can kill the entire marriage by refusing to get help or end their selfish behavior.
