But VERY appropriate for a Kindred. To quote Buffy: "Only someone who's spent the last 20 years underground would think THAT look is still in." While that doesn't REALLY apply to Victor, as he DOES, for the most part, manage to keep up with the times, ALL Kindred are static entities. Unchanging. So SOME things, expressions maybe, but SOMETHING, will remain unchanged in them from the period of their Embrace.
Nelli was VERY SILLY to pursue Annebelle and expose herself to attack as a Baron with no bodyguards! But people who care do silly things. What X did wasn't insane it was "animus possession" Which technically is allowing the Beast to take over to avoid the trauma of normal existence.
I love how Jason Carl focuses on the monstrous aspect of our protagonists. Seeing as how some of them (Jasper, Victor, hell, even Nines, ((although he's basically Henry Rollins)) are so damn likeable, it can be easy to forget. Jason Carl would be an excellent storyteller based solely on this, the rest of his spectacular skillset ( sorry to fanboy, but I am jealous) is just a very nice bonus.
In Nine's case, I'd say they made him too likeable. He was still likeable and charismatic in the game, but at the same time, also clearly a jerk who didn't want to hear a word that didn't align with his own ideals. And there wasn't any of that "mentoring the little guy" nonsense like with Mark. In the game, all his mentoring could fit in a scrap of paper and he only showed any real interest in the main character after they've blown up the Prince, ie proved that the abarchs could use them.
How much of this stuff is directed? It doesn't exactly feel scripted but it is very obviously directed. Each 'guest' has a very important bit of information to give. It is also information that is being brought to people that are basically 'guests' also.
I know. L.A. by Night is better than most modern movies and TV, in my opinion. I'm ashamed of my species for not giving it it's due. (Or at least the TH-cam algorithm.)
Frankly, it took until S4E8 for me to find an amazing episode. Season 3 and most of 4 just felt too easy for the build up they kept giving "difficult decisions." Annabelle had virtually no price to pay while playing baby Che, Victor and Nelli had no weight behind their issues, and Jasper did 80% of the dirty work.
Nines-Rodriguez is well acquainted with Blood Hunts, having survived being the target of one himself, albeit one called by a different Prince. That was the same night he encountered the Gaoru. Interesting that he choose to withhold that bit of the story from Victor. Especially considering how relevant those experiences are to the current situation with Therese.
@@Ana-ng1xk No, it's canon - but they specifically keep it fuzzy on the details because of all the multiple ways the player can go through the story. And I don't think Nines wants to relieve getting flipped off by some neonate who walked off into the night. Which reminds me - I'd LOVE to see Smiling Jack in this production.
This is Luis and B Dave at their best. This depth feels very real. It reminds me of the conversation with Nines and Anabelle where the heart of her character was established. Memorable performances across the board.
@@bartconnolly6104 Jasper probably couldnt even if he tried.. Zelios is a 7th generation kindred meaning he has atleast blood potency of 3 as a minimum with a max of 7 blood potency.. I belief he even said he tried at one point but couldnt.. Jasper has a blood potency of 3 which is pretty decent for a character his generation and age but likely not enough.. In the end it was Strauss who awakened him and as a 6th generation kindred it is easily in his capabilities..
I love that victor is finally coming into his own. At first he seemed too nice to be a Ventrue or even a Kindred. Then I felt he got no respect for all he did. Now... he is the Kindred godfather. Great job!
29:00 OHHHHh Victor bringing up the Bloodlines videogame events! I really want some mention of Bloodlines character. They have cannonically single handledly wiped out a Kuei-jin base and a Skycrapper full of SWAT, Vampires and a Sheriff, while probably killed a werewolf too, all in the same night.
I mean, it is canon, since they're bringing up characters from it in different stories, but they washed down the "fledgling's" deeds so that they can spin more stories to it. The fledgling didn't kill a Garou, he just danced around with a big one. But he did kill a Hengeyokai, which is basically a Wereshark as big as, if not, bigger than the Garou.
@@pepethefrog6809 That makes sense. And even so, he killed a Garou with a weird trick and not with sheer strenght even in the game. Also, Nines killed a young Garou, a teenager with no battle experience that went berserk on him wich is relatively the ONLY situation where a Vampite might kill a werewolf/Garou. It was according to Nines words, practically a kid. So the deed left a bad taste on him, he feels bad about killing him.
@@onemoregodrejected9369 Oh, there are Vampires out there that can definitely kill Werewolves but they're old ones, much older than Nines. But yeah, even that young lupine gave him a good scratch in his face so he did what he had to.
@@pepethefrog6809 Ofc the ancient ones could kill the with their bare hands, or bare mind even if lupines are strong against paranormal powers. There is this +500 years old Toreador Vampire that always carries with him a silver sword and beheaded an inmensurable quantity of werewolfs with sheer speed before they even noticed his pressence. Nines is a relatively young Vampire, L.A Vampires, even Abraham, are considered a bunch of rebelious teenagers by vampire society on the big picture and that is fun because most of them are already really old, way older than the first world war. XD eh I always start to ramble aimessly when talking about VTM and WoD lore, man, I love it so much. Its great to meet with people that follow the lore too across different works!
@@onemoregodrejected9369 Yeah, not even counting Methuselahs. Who can forget about Talley, the hound? That infamous Lasombra elder could probably fight multiple Werewolves at once. I wouldn't even consider them ancients but they got the juice. LOL Yeah, it's a fun world. That is why I hope that VTMB2 would not fail to deliver but it's hard not to have doubts especially after they fired the Narrative Lead Brian Mitsoda, who was one the minds behind the original game.
Hey@@JasonCarl, I saw in a previous video's comments that the episodes in LA by Night are about 10% scripted and that got me thinking about the players and character creation. Do you write up all the character sheets or do the players make their own or is it a collaboration? It's clear the regular cast is quite familiar with the V5 rules, while for the guest stars, their familiarity with the rules seems to vary greatly. However, they all seem well versed in the story/setting. How much "homework" are the actors "assigned" before play? Also, just wanted to echo everyone else and say you're an absolutely legendary ST; I have nothing but admiration for your composure, control, and narrative focus! I love LA by Night so much! Thank you!
@@SomeOfOthers thank you very much! Before Season 1 Episode 1, the original coterie cast (Erika, B. Dave, Cynthia, and Alex) and I had a "Session 0" in which we created the characters together.
I'm really quite curious that when Nines mentioned having someone that felt like a brother and them just leaving, if it was in reference to the Neonate from Bloodlines. The two characters had a pretty strong bond in the game and they even faced down those lupines together.
@@pepethefrog6809 That would make sense, MacNeil was effectively the Founder of the Free Staets alongside Garcia, but we know through the books that Garcia is still active. Maybe MacNeil succumbed to the Beckoning. He didnt show up in the original Bloodlines game either, so he's been missing for over 15 years now.
Great managerial-level dialogue. So much effort into maintaining equilibrium. One is the face of the new ways who wants to make a difference, one is the old guard who wants to be the last man standing. Neither can afford to unbalance the other. Both still have to get their teams to get the job done; and both are leading groups of people who have the luxury of acting out of passion and pissiness, and making unrealistic demands of the harsh world around them. This is the Sword of Damocles. Once you take the chair, it will always be hanging there. Moreover, oftentimes, you are the only one who realizes just how sharp it really is, because you are the only one who can look up and literally see the point of it.
One of the most lucid, non-wasteful conversations ever. And yet, even as an NPC, Annabelle's fixation with whinging about Carver still comes up. Who's Carver? The guy who made sure, Mark, that your GF still exists. The second you realize that, things will change.
Good, Nines pointed out what I've thought all along. The coterie so far has taken out one Sheriff, one Herald, and one Scourge, and what has it cost them? A couple of redshirt Valkyries that nobody cared about anyway. Sounds like Coterie 3, Camarilla 0 to me.
I love how Nines is the wise teacher who imparts his wisdom by making people he talks to develop their own wisdom. Rather than giving answers, he makes people think their own answers.
Victor needs to get the thin-bloods ready to fight by learning their secrets and getting them producing potions or whatever they can and stockpiling them. Just going out swinging isnt wise against the Cam.
WAR! And about time! Thank the darkness for these epilogues as they make being cooped up so much more enjoyable. Thank you all for giving all of us an hour or so of wonderful escapism. Hope you all and your loved ones are staying safe and come through all this healthy. Love you guys.
Victor needs to become a Beckett. Knowledge is Power. He needs to find out what powers the thin bloods have with potions. He needs to harness that and their day-walking ability.
Victor Temple is quickly becoming my favorite of the main cast. Knowing him to be a Ventrue I always worried that, in a worst case scenario, he would cut his losses if his coterie would get in more trouble than they are worth. If anyone is likely to hold on to his domain after the dust settles in L.A, its him. Also Nines is right in that they never truly been tested so far. Sooner or later something will come back to bite you in the ass, its true in real life and I guess its even more true in the World of Darkness, and the coterie characters needs to experience loss and find themselves in a situation where they will have to sacrifice something if they are to gain something.
I just finished binging the rest before this one was uploaded. Thank you so much helping make the current times a bit less.... dark? I can't wait to see what happens with our coterie! Thank you to all the actors and of course a special thanks to Jason, who seems to always know how to engross both the players and myself in this story of intrigue, violence, and clashing morals and ideals.
Oh yes!! Honestly, I didn't expect a continuation due to the all quarantine havoc. I mean, not so soon. But I'm so glad you proved me wrong! Nines and Victor have so good dad vibes and I truly enjoyed the whole conversation. A minute of piece after the previous ep. Please, keep going!
The epilogues are always my favourite part of the season and im glad there is so many this season, they add a lot of depth to the characters and answer a lot of questions :)
Definitely wouldn’t. I get the impression that Nines is pragmatic. He may like Annabelle but Annabelle is not his by blood or by territory, so he’d care but would advise Victor to handle it.
Hey Jason, I hope you and the cast are doing alright through this time of pestilence and disease, but I would hope not, considering kindred are immune to such mundane things 😂
@@IaIaCthulhuFtagn That was a blood disease though, and possibly one of a slightly arcane nature. Considering Kindred don't breathe, I doubt they would have any issues with a respiratory virus. Nor do I think that the virus would be able to replicate within their dead cells. They COULD still carry droplets of the virus to infect human friends and allies. And Ghouls would NOT be immune, although the vitea in their system may help them resist the effect. Thin-bloods, depending on their particular adaptation, MAY be subject to diseases like COVID-19.
It would be hilarious to see a wide shot and have Victor stand up only to discover he is wearing shorts under the table. In this time of quarantines and staying home, the whole Bermuda suite idea is becoming hot. LOL
@Todd Starbuck To be fair, IIRC we don't know that Nines actually participated. But you're right in that he at the very least stood by and did nothing while the innocent humans were slaughtered. So his wise, noble, heroic warrior-philosopher persona is at least partially an act.
It's been said multiple times, but I agree, watching this is like listening to two dads sharing their problems and possible solutions :D And it's great, I am all here for it ^_^
No. Ib showed up to uncuff him and told him that all their effort was a moot point, and to go home. Greg asked her if they were friends or partners now, and she told him to fuck off.
I was there the day that Nines killed that Lycanthrope. There was no other way. It was not the sort of situation where you would talk your way out of it.
So far I’ve only watched season 4. Jason Carl is superb, always on point, making scenes come to life with all the details. The most believable characters for me were Carver and Daffodil, Ib occasionally and Vannevar (even though I imagined his voice to be a little less creaky). Other characters seemed too human, not resembling dangerous predators fighting to survive the night against all odds. Plus obvious masquerade breaches going unpunished, barons being too soft not trying to exert their power and influence when the situation calls etc. (IMHO) Every time I hear LA and VTM together, in my minds eye I return to bloodlines game and can do nothing but compare. A great show though 👍 keep it coming !
Oh man this was so good. I still wonder in the last episode did the enchantment on Annabelle jacket stop working or did they not work on X? Jasper will have a lot of emotional distress dealing with his love life. X got some things to deal with what is the penalty for attempted deaoblery? (Sorry not shore how to spell it.) But I kind of get that after trying to help mane cast so many times that I get that he will get mad when he felt that he got ignored the time he wants help. Victor is trying to keep a cool head I get it he is doing well as far as working with the big picture. It is a hard call to displeas someone close to you to try to keep the picture in sight. Looking forward to to the next episode.
@@zacharyhawley1693 I thought she later had it protected for orthers as well I forget what episode but she brings up that she has added buffs and one time calls it a concent jacket.
I mean.. Werewolf The Apocalypse is a thing that the people on World of Darkness has been also working on besides Vampire The Masquerade. And they have met a Garou down Jasper's sewer before.
Nines season 1: kills a bunch of humans on the orders of a camarilla noble for a reinvitation for the Succubus Club. Nines season 4 ala Temple: what a Bruce banner! You should be colder! Also take care of my mortal son, you're not the type to kill humans on orders from the cam.
"Dont accept the boxes they have given us!" Brujah like a mf, absolutely love it. Luis Carazo aint Nines as nines was 15 years ago in Bloodlines, but his version of Nines is amazing. His portrayal is fire. Easily one of The Best side characters in this entire chronicle, and thats a tough achievement cuz.. I mean... So Many of the guests have done an absolutely phenomenal job; Bryan Dechart and Amelia Rose Blaire... Crazy Vannevar is an absolute Presence.
Someone should have informed the Player of Nines about the things that Nines already knows, especially the stuff Victor and Nines have been texting last episode. It's sad to watch how the Therese Situation is "news" to Nines when last Episode it was him who sent the Intel that "Asylum=Fort Knox". I mean yeah mistakes happen, but when you see your fellow player struggle with stuff that his character knows, there is nothing wrong with taking a short break and informing him so the scene can be played out without that cringy tiptoeing around the fact that the player was not present for interactions his character had.
By the way for those curious on what they were talking about For those not aware of the world of darkness let me give some clarity Nines is Brujah Elder. Granted he is young but hes survived a good while and is a absolute demon of a fighter, and with potence and celerity? Even moreso. That Werewolf that nines killed? That thing was a fresh cub. Werewolves in the WoD are creatures that rightfully scare the shit out of any sane undead or hunter because not only are they stronger, they also got magical powers of there own. Its said that aganst a Werewolf or Garou? Only the most ancient of vampire Methuselah or strongest Elders could even survive direct combat aganst such a thing. Nines may not adress it or something, but the devil looked after his own that day Because if what nines fought was a serious garou fighter? Nines would be dead, thrice over. Maybe after getting some good hits in,but torn apart nonetheless. So while yes, nines fought a werewolf and lived? It was a cub at best and it was still enough to nearly kill him. Take that into context and imagine a bunch of them.
I would be so nice if instead of nines saying the werewolf he killed was a puppy to mention that he was pushed out of a cliff with it and that the it got impaled by a pinetree or something, i allways had this idea that he is strong but the werewolf thing was a struck of luck. well i guess its only a mental immage in my mind because you know... they are killing machines and such.
no he's just been the one keeping Mark "fed" and looked after as a ghoul when Annabelle's is gone of with carver for months because Mark would go into withdrawal and even though he's only been ghoul for a couple months, so he's not going to worry about rapid aging, that doesn't mean he won't frenzy, even as a human ghoul he can frenzy, and could get hurt or hurt others if he goes into withdrawal, sort of a human experiencing a beast failure with a hunger for kindred blood even if he doesn't have a beast.
Yeah cant say I blame Victor for questioning Nines "I am the calm before the storm" Rodriguez façade, Nines "You must fail more" Rodriguez, Nines "I'm totally not manipulating the situation" Rodriguez, Nines "I'm not usurping your position" Rodriguez, Nines "I'll hide behind Annabelle's skirt" Rodriguez, Nines "I'm here for you, unless I'm not" Rodriguez, Nines "Its not my place to lead" Rodriguez, Nines "I'll rest on my laurels" Rodriguez, Nines "I got your back bro, I got your back bro, I got your back bro as long as I don't have to actually do anything" Rodriguez.
Yes! And I love how he made Nines tell him about the lupine as some kind of test. First Nines asked him to tell him everything about last night and about his doubts and everything. Well, Victor must have thought, if he wants that kind of level of honesty then he should tell me something honest first. Put money where your mouth is. So clever! And in the end, neither of them gives a full account. Nines doesn't talk about his own bloodhunt and Victor obviously doesn't talk about X almost diablerizing the Gangrel. Kindred will be Kindred. Love it!
I am guessing Annabelle, The Masquerade Breaker, is not going to be punished yet again? After she Soaring Leaped through Highway traffic, nearly gets hit by a car, and acts like the spoiled little brat that she seems to have always been? If she was in a game I was running, I don't care how famous she thinks she is, She would have had a Blood Hunt called on her as soon as Nelli G. reported what happened to Victor. If Nelli G. didn't tell Victor what happened...Since it is his Territory/Domain...Nelli G. could be considered compliant in the little Brujah's Masquerade Breach. Won't matter if mortals report the breach or not. It was blatant, obvious, and VERY public. Then Annabelle has the nerve to call her Sire? If Carver is still responsible for her actions.....Well, guess Carver better turn the little idiot in and save face as much as possible if he wants to avoid the fate that should be waiting for Annabelle. Since she has been a Kindred for long enough to KNOW what the masquerade is, how it works, and how many times she has broken it to pieces. Annabelle needs to be punished, or Victor and anyone who did nothing to possibly mask it as something else and what annabelle has been doing that she hasn't been punished for by this time. I swear Annabelle is living in the World of Pink Fluffy Bunny Slippers at this point. Everyone else is in the World of Darkness, but Annabelle is one of those Kindred that even if she is an Anarch or Independent, The Camarilla will Hunt her at this point. Or, the Inquisition will start coming around to sniff at the trail. Annabelle isn't all that powerful without her "friends" to back her up. Though, I have to remember, she gets kid gloves and wrapped in bubble wrap. Then she gets given a blood latte, a mani-pedi, and given the full spa treatment. Guess what, that is the definition of getting no consequences for the "poor little victim" that has NEVER been a victim of anything besides her belief of being immortal and untouchable. I am disappointed in the ST for letting her breaches of the Masquerade go unpunished.
What X did was small potatoes to what Annabelle did. While Diablerie is a bad thing, but the Diablerie failed, he rolled and the part that makes it Diablerie flitted away. My understanding is that they could claim it was an act of self defense. Diablerie in self defense will be let go and the Kindred will be put on watch, just in case it wasn't self defense and he decides to go do it again. Diablerie also isn't one of the Laws that automatically ends in a permanent death. Since, unless X has done Diablerie before, he'll be under a watch as long as no one denies it was self defense. I do understand that I am not the Storyteller in this Story, but I am getting disappointed with how a young Kindred is able to get away with Masquerade Breaches that would end with an Early Morning Sun Tan. Yet, older Kindred are being punished seriously, I am expecting X to be hunted and killed, Victor to be treated like a Kindred who broke the Masquerade for Annabelle's actions, Nelli G. might be treated similarly since she "didn't stop" Annabelle's breach with a breach of her own, Jasper will probably be held complicit with X's Diablerie since he took X to his haven after the fact, and the list could go on. I do love the story, I just do not like the fact that one character/player is getting special treatment over the rest. That is what starts making me want to skip scenes or episodes just so that I don't see the latest farce that will go on as soon as the spoiled Kindred come into the scene. I'll continue to watch, I love the interactions and the return of the World of Darkness into the roleplaying scene. I just have to shake my head that there is always at least one World of Pink Fluffy Bunny Slippers player in the mix. I had one who turned around and killed her mortal lover, she insisted in killing the first being that came through the door (She was asked if that was what she wanted to do three times by me and one of the other players who knew what the player playing the lover had already decided to do after hearing the noise in the room), in a fit of temper tantrum over not being able to get her victim to beg her to not kill him. She then screamed at me (the ST), the other player, and the player who was playing her lover as it was unfair and she wouldn't have done it if she had known, could she get a do over for the scene. I was not known for giving "do overs" EVER. I felt that consequences needed to be lived with and added drama creating a bit more caution later down the road in actions performed by the character(s).
Yeah I've noticed how alot of younger kindred get away with anything I guess it's like a younger siblings thing but I'm trying to maybe to start playing vtm V5 I don't know much about how to play asides from watching la by night I'm thinking about playing a young Brujah guy a little less morale high ground and more accepting the world of darkness but also having hope that that there's a little light in the world any tips please??
@@carsoncarter3739 Having Morals is fine, excepting the darkness out there would be acknowledging the fact that the monsters are real and you are one of them. As you are taught the Laws of Kindred society in character. Maybe bend or make a few mistakes here and there initially, but learn from those mistakes. Most early mistakes are ignorance and naivety on the Childer's part. The Sire can and will be punished as much as their childer for major breaches of the Masquerade. Since that is the first Law that must be taught to new Kindred. It is the most important of the Laws. It keeps the hunters from finding the Kindred and using modern technologies find the coteries, Elysiums, safe houses, or other places where Kindred go when the sun comes up. Having hope is working on keeping your humanity high and being as moral as you can be. Possibly looking for mortals who donate blood to the Kindred willingly. Predator types that might work for the character: bagger (while not perfect for feeding, it is better than being eating animals), sandman (a little lower morality, you either break in to places or hunt homeless while they sleep), Consensualist, or Scene Queen (the last two involves the ability to get consent from your victims, one is the mortals who either donate or compelled to feed you. The other is feeding from the subculture that revolves around vampire lifestyles and fetishes.). Get creative with your Predator type choice. The best thing is once your character has grown into the Kindred society, then you can act with more confidence, the only thing is, once your character understands the consequences of breaking Kindred Laws, that he learn from them. Camarilla are very unforgiving in their holding of the Laws. Anarchs are a little looser in interpretations, but the Masquerade is something they don't break. Break the Masquerade, you put more than yourself in danger. That is the best advice I could give to a new player or someone not familiar with the World of Darkness System. Think of the World of Darkness as the old style horror, where the shadows hold deadly secrets, the darkness has cold fingers that cause the hairs rise along the back of the neck, and it is not wise to stray from the known path. Then picture yourself as being pulled into that darkness where you now have to live and be strong enough to survive. The hope would be that you could skirt along that line between the shadows and the light, without losing yourself to the Beast. I know some of that is convoluted, but so is real life. You are the character, and you are the only one who can bring him (or her) to life. No one else can make your character do something you don't want. Minus a few Disciplines, but that is part of the danger. I hope you have fun, survive the Darkness, and find your balance to keep that hope and humanity for as long as possible. The Beast will always look for those moments of weakness. I hope you will enjoy the World of Darkness Carson.
This is the dumbest thing I've read all week. The L.A. Camarilla are weak and unstable amidst an entrenched Anarch presence, and they have a Prince who's literally insane and obviously unfit to rule (which is why they agreed to the truce in the first place). Not to mention the implied infighting. They literally just got done calling a blood hunt on a powerful Baron for directly assaulting the mind of said Prince. And you think they're going to further provoke the Anarchs by calling a blood hunt on the Anarch posterchild? Over a minor Masquerade violation that they probably don't even know about because they've got much bigger problems to deal with? You don't even understand the basics of the V5 setting if you think Nelli, Victor or any Anarch leader in L.A. is going to feel any obligation to report breaches of the Traditions to the Cam. Even if they didn't care about Annabelle, turning her over to the Cam would be political suicide, essentially a public show of submission to Camarilla authority. Which, you know, is the thing they were fighting a whole-ass war to avoid doing. (It would also be a public betrayal of a famous member of the Movement who's also known to be part of their own coterie.) The idea that any of the people you mentioned would even consider giving up Annabelle is mind-bogglingly stupid. As is the idea that the Camarilla is in any position to call a blood hunt on her. I swear, every idiotic rant against Annabelle I read further convinces me that her haters are completely unhinged.
@@jerkchicken_expertlyseasoned I agree with everything you have written here except the last sentence. You are right. No one involved would give up Annabelle, and even if they did, the Camarilla is in no position to do anything about it. However, Annabelle is the one character that needs a severe knockdown. I love this story. I love Jason Carl's storytelling. I love all of the characters, their backstories, their interactions with each other and the secrets they hide. Annabelle for me is just cringe-worthy at best. The overacting is atrocious. The "all about me" attitude is getting tiresome. There have been scenes were I wanted to smack her, and I'm seriously surprised none of the characters in the story did. Every scene turns into a "poor me" moment. She yells at everyone around her for doing the same *&^% she does. She plays holier than thou on every issue, then turns and sells people up the river. I don't know. My husband says I just don't understand the passionate nature of the Brujah. Maybe. Personally, I'm tired of the teenage angst, whiny BS. This is the end of the fourth season, and she's still acting like she was embraced last week. Jasper is right. She lost very little in the grand scheme of things. Why anyone would follow her even across the street is beyond me, much less a revolution.

Jason Carl would be an excellent storyteller based solely on this, the rest of his spectacular skillset ( sorry to fanboy, but I am jealous) is just a very nice bonus.
No matter how nice they seem, or no matter where we go, it is the blood of Caine that guides our fate
@@lasombramagister2668 Yep. And what skeeter doesn't have "Daddy Issues"?
@@MatthewLeLievre Its the epilogues so there must be a line that they now follow. Otherwhise is neither
This show does not get nearly enough views that it deserves.
I know. L.A. by Night is better than most modern movies and TV, in my opinion.
Every single episode I watch, I think exactly that, like "how do more people not know about this??"
It means we are good at the Masquerade.
A cub. I always wondered how Nines managed to take out a garou.
I thought it was his grenade.
Yeah, it was a juvenile Garou but still a very deadly one. The fledgling was the one who had to dance around with the big daddy werewolf.
Never trust anyone with an "X" in their name.
And don't open it!
Now that is a story for another night.
I don't think Bloodlines 1 is fully canon anymore, is it?
@@Ana-ng1xk No, it's canon - but they specifically keep it fuzzy on the details because of all the multiple ways the player can go through the story. And I don't think Nines wants to relieve getting flipped off by some neonate who walked off into the night. Which reminds me - I'd LOVE to see Smiling Jack in this production.
@@Ana-ng1xk Its more canon than it's ever been given how many characters from it show up.
This is Luis and B Dave at their best. This depth feels very real. It reminds me of the conversation with Nines and Anabelle where the heart of her character was established. Memorable performances across the board.
"Who is Carver?" Someone whose going to have an important role next season, and perhaps a bigger obstacle for the players
I really hope so! More Taliesin!!!
I am so looking forward to it. "Who is Carver?" And that is where we end our story...What? No!!!!!!!
Pity jasper didnt revive zelios but the outcome would probably be much the same
@@bartconnolly6104
Jasper probably couldnt even if he tried..
Anarch Brujah and Ventrue brothers - amazing!!
@@anvos658 Jack has his charms too, despite his like for causing mayhem.
OH MY GOD! First epilogue! i ate season 4, there is so much stuff going on! Thanks for making all of this!
Hey thank you! We love sharing our stories with the Vamily!
@@JasonCarl If I may ask, how many epilogues does Season 4 have, and has there been any word on Season 5?
I think he was referring to Jeremy MacNeil. Founder of the Anarch Free States. The guy who pulled Nines into the fight and disappeared.
@@wizzrobe6007 Yeah, that's probably why a lot of Kindred think he already met his final death.
Skelter and Damsel both say that Nines loved to tell people about that Werewolf story but he seems changed. LOL
Nines continues to be an epic Vampire Anarch and Luis plays him so well.
Victor has to know Annabelle is going to tell anybody she remotely trusts what happened with X. Oh well 6 hours and change until epilogue 2
Fourth time watching and I stopped for a sec when I saw nines touching the rosery. Victor you sneaky bastard..
Only Jason Carl can pull off a monologue like that. Seriously, give this guy a raise.

I just realized... Victor didn't tell Nines that X attacked her. Damn. How fast would Nines be out to get X after that bit of info?
Not at all going for X.
Definitely wouldn’t. I get the impression that Nines is pragmatic. He may like Annabelle but Annabelle is not his by blood or by territory, so he’d care but would advise Victor to handle it.
It's a shame we'll never know..
The way Luis has portrayed Nines? He wouldn't lift a finger. Luis' Nines has been _extremely_ passive
Hey Jason, I hope you and the cast are doing alright through this time of pestilence and disease, but I would hope not, considering kindred are immune to such mundane things 😂
They aren't immune, it just wont kill them. Remember the plagued vampire cult in bloodlines 1.
LOL
Once again Nines has the most level head and best focus on what is fair and just.

Aaaaaaah, finally. I can't wait to see what happens next 👀
"Dont accept the boxes they have given us!"
Brujah like a mf, absolutely love it.
Why are they talking as if there's still a truce going on when the prince declared a frickin blood hunt on one of the barons!!!!!
By the way for those curious on what they were talking about
For those not aware of the world of darkness let me give some clarity
Nines is Brujah Elder.
Nines may not adress it or something, but the devil looked after his own that day
Because if what nines fought was a serious garou fighter? Nines would be dead, thrice over. Maybe after getting some good hits in,but torn apart nonetheless.
So while yes, nines fought a werewolf and lived? It was a cub at best and it was still enough to nearly kill him. Take that into context and imagine a bunch of them.
Love this so much such good acting
31:28 yeah the garou are not joke. You need to be a powerful elder to fight them
35:05 didn't he get killed by the kue-jin
Nines is dope.
Im constantly wondering what what the humanity is of everyone.
No Damsel in the Last Round? Big oof.

Good tea. Nice house.
Jason, if you're reading this. From a ST, if it's spoiler free information, mind me asking what it is you're looking up at the 31:00 minute mark?
HE CALLED HIM DAD!!!
Is the implication here that Nines embraced Mark? Yowzer...
no he's just been the one keeping Mark "fed" and looked after as a ghoul when Annabelle's is gone of with carver for months because Mark would go into withdrawal and even though he's only been ghoul for a couple months, so he's not going to worry about rapid aging, that doesn't mean he won't frenzy, even as a human ghoul he can frenzy, and could get hurt or hurt others if he goes into withdrawal, sort of a human experiencing a beast failure with a hunger for kindred blood even if he doesn't have a beast.
Love it!
Nines Rodriguez, The realest!
And noooooo mentioning of a handgrenade 😀
(It would also be a public betrayal of a famous member of the Movement who's also known to be part of their own coterie.)
The idea that any of the people you mentioned would even consider giving up Annabelle is mind-bogglingly stupid.
Why anyone would follow her even across the street is beyond me, much less a revolution.
isnt there one gangrel in this chronicle?
And Ramona, she's Gangrel too
I see we've got 7 Camarilla jerks 👀
