    This is my first video I’ve seen on this channel and I just want to say that I deeply appreciate her teaching style. She’s firm and straightforward without being hyper critical and making the student feel like they aren’t good enough. She recognises that everyone starts somewhere and wants to help you reach your full potential with skill and technique. I’ve been singing for most of my life and when I started to develop chronic illnesses I lost so much vocal control. I now struggle to not push and I feel like I never reach where I was at in the past. It makes me incredibly self conscious but I feel very supported right now.

    This is such a great video. I'm working on nuance now. I can get control over during my practice but, Once I go to sing songs, I start getting to loud and blowing out my voice for the next and part of the 2nd day. That's after, warming up good and feeling good through the vocalizing, then, singing through a set of 8 songs twice. The singing felt good while doing it but, those ghosts of voices past crept in and I got too loud... Then, I have trouble getting good vocal closure for those 2 days after. This is day 2 and I'm still struggling. I also have rehearsal tonight...

    • @Victoria-Victorious
      @Victoria-Victorious  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Please be careful. In your practice, make the song into an exercise so that you learn how to apply the technique. Also work on strength and power. I have videos on that. Another thing, why not tell your band members that you need to sing 1/2 voice for some rehearsals if your voice is tired? Definitely do not sing if hoarse.

    This is an issue for me and lately it's become more apparent. I sing in a classic style heavy metal band (a lot of head voice, mixed voice, belting) and I am usually ok until I reach certain songs during my set. I manage to get through it but I feel some tension, especially in songs that involve a lot of jumping from chest voice to head voice and back. It's difficult to relax after a couple jumps and I get stuck and feel like I have to push a bit to get through the song. The other thing is that I'm a natural baritone but am usually singing like a tenor because of the style. I've been doing it for 2 years now and I haven't lost my voice, even on tour (2 weeks long). Although I did get a little fatigue on the last couple shows where it was hard to control my pitch in some sections of songs. I'm hoping I can work from the ground up with these videos and improve my foundation. It's hard to find videos that help with my particular style of singing because of how much I need head voice in most songs.
