  • This single reel of silent 8mm movie film was shot by myself in 1977, featuring a cavalcade of vintage vehicles passing by, at first along Sauchiehall Street at Charing Cross, including a brand new specimen subway coach as yet to be installed in the subway circuit, which at that time was closed for a complete upgrade before using the new future rolling stock. A brand new escalator for the restored subway is also seen. The movie concludes with a few of the same vehicles later crossing Glasgow Bridge, across from The Broomielaw.

Great film. Near the end the chassis being driven over from the Broomielaw was something that a lot of drivers from The Albion factory in South Street done.

I saw an old A1 bus in the parade there! I think I may have even saw an AA one, too!

125th anniversary of Glasgow Public Transport.
I was 4 and can remember the event at Larkfield Depot. I wish I'd been a bit older to remember more detail. 👍
