I have a dozen or so Moras. I wear one clipped in my pocket (easier than clipping on belt) every day for work. I've never broken a blade, handle OR had any problem with any part of the sheath. I've put them through hell. Can't beat a Mora. Worth alot more than they cost

I've worn the clip sheath on my work belt everyday for the last 2 years . Never a problem.

My first knife was a Mora. Absolutely love the thing. Sure I got bigger and badder knives now but my companion is so dang handy.

Great all-around budget utility Camp knife

To me, my mora companion is that beloved utility style kitchen knife that you always grab, the one you always wanted to edc but couldn't because you had no sheath for it. It fits your hand perfectly, its easy to sharpen, you keep it razor sharp and it just feels so good in your hand! It looks good and its just the best knife in the house for any and all cutting jobs. Thats what the mora companion is to me. I have several and one is always on my side. somtimes one on both right and left sides at the same time. It is truly my EDC KNIFE above all others. I know im being long winded here but true knife lovers will understand my sentiment. Every knife lover has that one special knife he or SHE loves and thinks is the best knife in the world. For me its a mora companion. No other knife can beat it.

The sheath does stay on a 11/2 inch belt very securely for me for years! Off grid garden and forage. I carry a companion carbon for trimming brush and vines. I also carry a kansbol sandvic stainless on the other side for food and fine soft cutting! A small machete for heavy vine cutting and firewood stuff!

I just ordered the green Mora Companion HD a few days ago with the Cold Steel Finn Wolf knife. I have a Cold Steel Trailboss ax I use to split kindling, I've had the ax for a year and a half and I'm impressed with it for light duty tasks despite it being made in China. I love products from Sweden, I'm a faithful Husqvarna chainsaw and yard equipment guy and Sweden has a superb reputation for their steel, whether its knives, axes or saws!

That was a nice explanation at the end about usage. The people of S.N.A.C. (Small Knife Anti-abuse Coalition) thanks you for your support. Every year many small or short bladed knives are horribly beaten and malformed, never able to resume normal function.

The belt clip holds securely, at least my Moras do. I have 3 Moras, a Hi Q, a Companion MG, and a HD Companion. All are excellent blades. Use a saw to get through bone, not a knife, I do. I've been a woodsman for over 50 years and I gotta say that Mora are the best inexpensive knives that I've run across. As an aside, I do not baton my knives, that's what hatchets and machetes are for.

    • @gabehumphries5483

In the jungle your belt knife better be very secure or you'll lose it. yes a bone saw is preferred when cutting bone. Mahalo for watching

Armory Plastics makes a kydex sheath for the companion in either black or orange for about $20 on Amazon! And since u have the orange one already, you're set!! Also if you want leather, Hide & Drink make some nice leather sheaths for around 20 as well!!

  • @storm3016
    @storm3016 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Cool vid, keep 'm coming! When I carry my Companion I just stick it in my front right pocket while clipped to the waistband of my trousers, works like a charm for me. The plastic clip might look flimsy but it has held up for several years so for without problems.

    Great video 👍 !!!
I happily own a little "practical" collection of Morakniev knives such as the following :
    1. Garberg Dala Red (new for 2024) +Survival kit
    2. Companion Navy Blue
    3. Eldris Blue
    4. 546 Blue & Orange (Limited)
All Excellent 👌 Value for Money Knives,
that you will NEVER regret buying !!!
Most of us won't have to spend more money since for most occasions they are enough.
I would also add in the collection one day the
    5. Kansbol Dala Red or Orange/Green Hunting
    6. Bushcraft Black / Companion HD
    7. 511 Red
    8. Hatchet Orange
Additionally, if Police Officers check on you in the woods, or in the country side, then you most likely be FREE to go if you don't look as an assassin, terrorist, mentally ill or drunk etc.
Unless you are Delusional or John Rambo or there is a Zombie Apocalypse you don't really need to get ESSE 4,5,6 & Junglas...
Here in Greece it is illegal to carry knives.
The law is strict and all people "hide" them in backpacks, duffle bags, until they get in their destination & use them for cooking, camping, fishing, hunting & go through the mountains.

Nice video. I used to live in Oahu, Hawaii (Makakilo) from like 1970 almost to '74. I loved it, but I prefer the woods except I have ended up here in Florida, which has woods, but it's still more tropical, meaning hot and humid most of the year. So, I am thinking of stainless steel for most outings or to use in the yard.

The carbon steel moras can have a DIY finish put on. Stick the knife in soft boiling apple cider vinegar. After a few applications it will have a forced patina that will help prevent rust.

  • @jamesaritchie1

I don't like stainless steel for knives I'm taking into the wild, but I have several Mora Companion high carbon steel knives, both regular and heavy duty. I don't do orange, either.
I have no trouble with the Mora sheath. I carry it on my belt, which is NOT a dress belt, and it works perfectly. If it's on right, it is not coming off.
I also don't abuse any knife by chopping with it, or batoning with it, or cutting bone with it. They make machetes are such things as large kukris for chopping, and they make saws and hatchets for cutting through bone. The job of a knife is cutting, and anything else is abuse.

    • @gabehumphries5483
      @gabehumphries5483  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

James Ritchie yes I believe a knife is designed to cut but if I just cut a bunch of fruit and vegetables or carve a spoon it wouldn't show how tough this knife is under reasonable working conditions. Mahalo
