You can make it even harder: put Expert AI on impossible difficulty, turn HoI4 on Elite difficulty, buff all the nations who are not you through the sliders on the custom game rules and on Expert AI make Japan have the upper hand in their campaign against China. Good luck :P

I noticed that on my playthrough with Expert AI, because the Soviets focus more on making more division then actually trying to raise one. They have a Deficient. Which makes it easier to invade as Germany lol They literally have 40 width, But no equipment lol.

If Republican Spain can hold onto Bilbao or the other northern state, they already can’t do the Consolidate the North focus. I suppose a good strategy (if you’re really lucky) is to take Valladolid or Burgas and link up with the northern states.

sad that no matter what the go to way to have a harder experience in singleplayer is to either give the AI buffs or yourself debuffs with AI improving it might become the opposite
You can boost Expert Ai manually by clicking the gear button on the top right to make them truly difficult with 100% boost to attack and defence for example :)
Then you never saw Dankus, Grisha or maybe TommyKay. They are the best. I see few flaws in this playthrough, never annex lithuania, bad tank division template (low org and you don´t need more than 1TD) or no air build. This is not the best Soviet Union possible.
@@jozopako they play against other players. How good they play depends on how much mistakes the other player makes. This mod literal removes the mistakes AI makes. AI divisions doesn't take attrition. They make good templates and they don't run out of equipment.
@@jozopako also he built civs in a circle around Moscow instead of in high infra zones and didn’t use mech, only lvl 1 radio on tanks. I’m not sure I would say tommykay is one of the best. He’s good but not that good

Gotta do expert ai impossible difficulty Germany. When I did it France was a struggle. And it was not remotely fair. (I have like 4K hours in the game so not a total noob either)

I want to struggle against Ethopian AI as Italy, but not because it spammed 50 Divisions after it used it's Big Brain to railroad all it's frontline divisions to a random province and got rightly curb stomped by me.

Small tip: You don't need to win the spanish civil war. Try to farm xp by defending one tile the nationalist were attacking, then retreat to the defense line from Valencia to Murcia. This way, the Republican won't cap, while the Nationalists will keep attacking, which gives more xp.
Here's how to do it: 1. Select your field marshall and make a frontline with a battleplan. 2. Select your general and unassign the divisions. 3. Make the divisions garrison an inaccesable country/province using your general. This will allow your divisions to gain planning bonus without needing to be assigned to a frontline. It's useful for microing, since you can get planning bonus while beeing able to freely move the divisions.

Thats is what i hate. There's no real good Ai. Just bonuses. I dream with the day where the Ai actually plays the Game and adapts to the players gamestyle.
