Soviet AI in expert not only hold against the Germans really good but also have to deal with a Finland as well.
Only thing I'm surprised by is no communist germany given the Soviets took 90% of it

Funny how some italian forces came to help the finnish forces in Finland, but not german forces came help at all.
Expert AI looking the best imo, closest to history. Although, Finland dying to naval invasion not the greatest, not sure if that would happen every game.
I could swear the Germans got further than that historically.
If the Soviets managed to keep Estonia, that would probably have given their pretty large fleet and naval air forces a decent harbor away from German attacks and thus prevent the Germans from even entering the Gulf of Finland.
And the Soviet Navy, although not on the scale of major powers and divided amongst two seas, was quite formidable and competitive.

@@MrDalek2150 they most definitely did. They thrusted towards Moscow very early on in the war, same with Leningrad and the siege there. Obviously the fight for Moscow was a Soviet victory, and so the Germans tried to lunge for Stalingrad and the Caucasus
How is Germans still having aa front in North Africa while Italy hasnt collapsed more historical ?
The USSR is such a Giga-Chad on expert AI that the Allies were afraid to carry out operation "Unthinkable".

Probably because the USSR made the most mistakes, purging generals, not adaquetly training military, etc. The expert AI just fixed the same percentage of mistakes equally, it's just the soviets made the most. I think not %100 so please do not quote me on that

@@becalelbecalelew7262 In addition to experience, the Axis powers simply had more troops in the beginning than the Soviet Union. I believe they had around 1.5 times as many troops.

why is soviet AI competent only on expert difficulty? I never understood how a 'power with cheap infantry, no air force and no navy could be a real challenger to Germany.
@@JosipBrozTITO8489 because I believe there is basically a wall of infantry equipped with aa, anti tank and stuff and after awhile they are start mass producing aircrafts with the massive industry they built over 8 years
@@JosipBrozTITO8489 because for some reason paradox made it so that the Soviet AI is extremely agressive and attacks everytime, losing all entrenchment, org and equipment, making it really easy to push them.
expert ai makes it so that the AI attacks less in those situations, making it more realistic
The most historical GPW version is usually Expert AI: Favor Germany + 2-3 levels buffed USSR or Expert AI: Favor USSR + 1-2 lvl buffed Germany and USA

Both AI scenarios had an Allies-Comintern endgame: Vanilla Allies were already at war with Comintern by the end of the European conflict because of Turkey's stupid focus tree.

There was somewhere around 12million men in the soviet army by the time they reached Berlin. I don't think the allies could handle such numbers had they fought immediately after the war.

Normal AI = buff allies. Expert AI = buff soviets
I play as british malaya and manage to revive majapahit but the japanese ai is so hard to beat in this mod lol and playing germany against the soviet is truly hard ..im stuck in the near oil region which is mountainous with my heavy tank and i cant event push the soviet lol😅
The German problem, as predicted by Paulus and other staff officers who did some war games to test how the invasion of the soviet union would go, with barbarossa and fall blau was they got up to several hundred miles in, right past the range of their supply vehicles (with barbarossa it was right past the point where they had to change gauge on their rail cars at minsk), and then the offensive would stall out due to lack of supplies and they would have to dig in, giving the red army plenty of time to recover and figure out how to counter their tactics. The axis were banking on a rapid victory so they didn't have to fight a war of attrition, which they would lose in long term.

2 Germany's insufficient motorization and production shift war oriented earlier
3 Japanese No Aggression treaty
Three more to consider:
Italy's Greek blunder
Failure to capture Malta, Gibraltar, Cyprus and Suez (Failed NA Campaign)
Spain and possibly Turkiye's Neutrality not violated through more underhanded and aggressive diplo/power play.
The Soviet Union is better with the Expert Ai that's clear and overpowered as well . I think that's the only explanation to see the Soviets lose everytime agaisnt the Allies , they have a chance to compete agaisnt the Allies .

I noticed that since NSB the Soviet AI always seems to have the problem of being broken in the centre of the front, and then overextending themselves as they hold large number of troops in the baltics and Caucasus while the Germans penetrate even deeper. I think it is a problem with the Soviet AI not understanding where it's railways are and how to hold them.
I find it something how no matter which version of AI used, and whatever historical mode chosen, there is some sort of mandatory requirement that the Axis loses.
Way less divisions going west-east in expert ai! Love it
Its weird how in almost all my matches, axis completely stomps the african front yet the USSR basically halts the entire axis with minimal effort. I would've thought it would be the opposite. Yet it sure is incredibly satisfying declaring war on the axis and cutting them in half through Ethiopia. The encirclements are heavenly.
In my Games is the opposite. Germany just throw millions of manpower and overtake ussr. In vanilla what is impressive

the ai gets better at handling naval invasions, a lot of their divisions died that way, ussr did a lot more defending, and from my experience makes insane tank divisions on expert

Expert AI is looking best because from the beginning to the end of the history it is normal that the ai choosed that way to replay the real history.
but the Vanilla ai is called the dreamland ai because this ai is not bound to the real history it is set to write his own story but this is important too so it shows us a different way the "what happend if" way.
The USSR got buffed up in the expert ai one
I think it doesn't make good decisions until Germany pushes to a certain point

You should do Vanilla vs Total War mod timelapse, as that one aims for a lot of historical accuracy compared to Vanilla, and makes things interesting.
I feel like Expert AI has more of an FPS problem though

So, accurate IA only stop in 1945, but the 2 others are a bit more aggressive. Vanilla started another big one the earliest of the 2, expert had a short break before it happened.
Only accurate wouldn't do that.
Really like how Expert AI tends to play out. Eastern Front tends to hold a bit too well and Axis does stupidly well in Africa, possibly why D-Days etc come late because they can't invade through Mediterranean - Generally though it's a lot more satisfying not just seeing the AI throw its troops away in Stupid attacks...
Lack of Comintern-Allies War is always nice too. It really annoys me to see that war especially whilst the Axis still exists. Afterwards I'd never play because late game lag but it's fun conceptually.
The soviets especially once Germany declared war on them were severely lacking in all resources and were dependent on the US until late 43 to late 44 even sending over engineers, plant managers, and other types of construction managers to assist with building their infrastructure. If we look at how much money in total we gave to them it was around $12 billion with all resources, money, and equipment that would equate to roughly $185 billion dollars in todays money. Which was about 75% of its total GDP in 1941. So realistically with how the lend leases work in the game we can't fully reenact the scenario, and I believe that people look to in-depth on how OP the soviet Union should be instead of looking at the realistic side of having zero support from the allies would have immediately shown how bad of a place they were really in.
@@Thebaconmurderer Lend lease accounted for about 4% of total Soviet defence expenditure in 1941-45, don't flatter yourself.
Once you get used to playing on impossible expert ai you just cant go back to vanilla, feels like god mode. I wish pdx incorporated some of the tweeks to improve the ai's behaiviour
They will do that in HOI5 and call it a day.
@ Don't forget, they'll find mod ideas and incorporate them into the game and charge you money for it. Preferably, they'll do it while making the textures worse than the mod and banning the original at the same time.

im afraid its not possible to to do that since its either both sides are expert ai or none at all, i could redo this but with stats so you can see the army size and industry of both sides if you want?

If you want the most realistic WW2 simulation in general it's Darkest Hour a HOI Game, based on HOI2. The Germans will invade Russia but actually take a lot of ground. However, they usually don't win, and russia slowly pushes them out. Whereas in Hoi4 it doesn't seem to work like this usually.

British Empire was definitely interested in world domination.
EAI builds Soviet Union much better. In vanilla it has a lot less factories and less effective industry.
Expert AI is actually historical. The German Reich attacks Denmark first - The Phoney War. After the collapse of Denmark Germany goes around the maginot and attacks benelux
Until it comes to Barbarossa where it shits the bed in accuracy.

I fell like germany is just set up to lose. They go up against the allies and soviets at the same time which means a lot of troops are forced to stay in reserve or guarding borders/coasts. If they could get the japaneese to join axis maybe theyd have a chance as they could tie up the soviets on the easy long enough to rush moscow and the major cities and knock them out of the war. But as we all know the japaneese always make their own faction (co prosperity sphere) and leave the soviets while having to fight off the allies and Chinese. Now see if japan ignored china and focuses on the soviets with germany for a quick knockout they could than focus on their own targets. Germany going after europe and japan after china and the resources in siam/indonesia.

Is there a reason for the Allies being monsters in vanilla and USSR being dominate in expert? Both kicked off operation unthinkable with very different results.
I think its because the USSR in expert ai is alot stronger then vanilla just because of what strategy it uses

the allies will be using a better one then their vanilla counterpart but german ai would be better prepared to fend off naval invasions probably because more garrisons

Finland never became an axis member but did side with Germany to take the land back that The USSR took from them
They join the AXIS in game just because it allows Germany to aid them easier but they don't join the allied war and peace out when Soviet Union pushes them back

The only thing that occurred after was France fell then a lasting stalemate, I stopped it there because I wanted to keep both exactly in sync

USSR prob should be nerfed in Expert AI.
Irl it was kinda like that: USA wasn't very good at fighting but ok, but had insane economy, prob more powerful than both USSR and Germany combined and militarized it right away in late 1941-early 1942. Germany was very good at fighting, but militarized economy only in the second half of 1942-early1943. USSR had the same economy as Germany, but militarized it in 1941; was very bad at fighting, lost insane amount of forces, but was able to push due to US and UK help(lend lease, bombings, southern and western fronts)
They don't receive any buffs in this timelpase, they are just given proper instructions to maximize their country

@@datdude119 in 1943 Soviet losses were mostly higher than German ones, despite Soviet union having more tanks, fighters and troops. Even in 1945 in some operations its losses were higher, even though Germany had to use green volksturm troops, and barely had any operational fighters or tanks

@@datdude119 beating someone by having huge numerical and equipment advantage while having more losses is literally included in definition of "fighting bad". If it wasn't for late German industrialization, help of allies and higher population Soviet union would have never won.
It's like defeating in a street fight someone who is smaller, has a damaged hand and at the same time is being attacked by two other guys, all while receiving more fractures during the fight.
