I actually done that once 2 years ago. Found about 300 cans of full soda in a dumpster and it took me well over 3 hours of opening and draining to get $15 in deposit money. Definitely wasn't worth it. But they would toss away lots of food daily and I kept and ate the best stuff. Always had to leave behind dozens of snack foods, canned goods, fruits, milk, meats as it was just too much for one person to eat. Of course the place went out of business as they seemed to toss more away than they actually sold. LOL! But I was literally not buying groceries for months because of them. Dumpster diving can be so wonderful like that.

Back in the 80’s, My grandfather would go out at night when it was bulky garbage night. He called it ju ken as he would bring back the junk fix it and sell it at the flea market he had a stand at. He didn’t need to do it but, it was his hobby. Great video bro 👍

Love it dude i use to scrap and plan on returning when i get my 69 flatbed running. 1 tip for you: back your truck to dumpster to get in and load truck and a 2ft ladder to get out😉. Work smarter not harder...as my pop used to say. Save your back.
I use to work for energy drink company if they throw it out was one the customer already paid for it, and the skid was entered as paid so they couldn't resale so they dumped it to make space for the next customer.

I found beer in the trash before and I don't drink, so I will either give it to someone or poor it out and recycle the aluminum cans. Knowing me I probably would of taken every single case of energy drinks and I may even try one and only one or maybe not, yet I may dump the energy drink out and keep the aluminum cans for recycling. Before it went out of business the radio shack threw out display models of alot of different items and odds and ends. I used to go by Pets Smart cause they toss out even super premium bags of dog food that got damaged on the shelves, bunch of fresh stock 65 dollar bags of Blue and other super premium dog food.

My mom goes 'curb surfing'- driving around in subdivisions looking for things tossed out for the garbage pickup. You wont believe what people throw away that is totally usable and works- flat screen Sony tv, dining tables, antique chairs, paintings and much more.
I was a garbage man for a year and i got paid almost 15 an hour to dig in the trash .... I would have had the garbage in the truck instead of the hopper haha rich people throw away some great stuff i swear

The best was probably one of the the jewelry boxes because I made almost a grand selling the gold and I even gave my mom one of the pairs of earrings for mother's day ... They were yellow gold roses with white gold stems and had little diamonds all over them .. and at Christmas time I got over $200 in tips ... I only did it for just over a year but in that short amount of time I completely filled my house and garage with furniture and nic-nac s...I had it set up to where I would fill up the truck and I would hide it on the side if the road or in someone's yard and then after work and I got back to my car I would ride around picking up all the things I kept throughout the day... I got caught so many times they finally stopped getting on to me for keeping stuff out of the trash haha .. I actually miss that job ... I'm back building cell towers now but I really do miss it sometimes ... Onetime i had a yard sell and had a jar slap full of money and towards the end of the day I went to buy several boxes of pizza for everyone and left the jar on accident and of course it and a lot of the stuff was gone when I got back ... My neighbors mom was "watching it" for me when I left and swore she didn't see anyone take it but I believe her because I'm pretty sure she's the one that took it but it's all good all the stuff was free so I didn't trip to bad but it was the last yard sell i ever had until I finally quit that job and when I moved from that house I left the door open and told the entire trailer park to take what they wanted .. keep in mind this is a true story okay hahaha , anyhow , my new job didn't work out so I ended up coming back a few days later and there was nothing but my couch and a whole crap ton of trash left haha ... I had already turned the power off and gave away all the food .. all I had was literally just a couch , a kitchen full of trash and a few broke dishes and some cold water hahaha... That was a hard year that year but looking back now it was a lot of fun .... I miss it ... My little boy running up to me when I walked in the door and me and his mom we're still together , I had a really cool but not so well paying until the last few months of it which was when I made like $14.70 ph and it seemed like I had life all figured out but then life happened haha ... The one I got from Harbor Freight was pretty good,, I tried to pull a piece of shelving that was buried and broke it. Going to fix me something like you got. All that stuff you found around the 8 minute mark was all underground tank sensing equiptment for underground storage tabks for the gasoline industry. I work around that stuff everyday. Mildly valuable but mostly just recylable stuff.

Those Energy drinks might have been a Recall...My first car had a "BOOMING" stereo! everything but the Cassette deck was from a dumpster behind two local stereo shops. Also found some cool german made wooden boxes they shipped their speaker in complete with hinges and hasp locks i converted to tool boxes.
Take a 5 gallon bucket with a rope along. Makes a great step stool out side or inside. You can even use it to get out of tall dumpsters and pull it out w the roap.
Although there were some things of interest, after, fuel, wear, tear and most importantly TIME! I don’t believe on a regular day you could make enough money to justify the time. It would only be good if ya find really good items in one dumpster

Take a 5 gallon bucket with a rope along. Makes a great step stool out side or inside. You can even use it to get out of tall dumpsters and pull it out w the roap.

Although there were some things of interest, after, fuel, wear, tear and most importantly TIME! I don’t believe on a regular day you could make enough money to justify the time. It would only be good if ya find really good items in one dumpster
