Hey Mike, that “ Cat “ thing was a scanner of bar codes used in the year around 1997.It would then take you to a web site. It used to work but the company folded and stopped working. I think we still have ours. It was a free item from I think Radio Shack.
LOVE the mixed bags/boxes of stuff. FYI silver coins 1964 and older are 90% pure coin silver. Also, just older ones in really good condition are worth more than face value. For cleaning the purses just use a little bleach mixed with water to get rid of the mildew and set in the sun for a few hours.
Alright alright alright. How ya doing Mike? Good to see you. Not a bad haul today. I love that little barrel. Too bad I'm states away or I'd buy it from you. Go through the paperwork and envelopes because people put money in them. Have a good day and stay safe.

Neetsfoot oil might sort out the leather bags. Clean the cloth parts first, then clean the dirt off the leather. Then apply the neetsfoot oil. The shoe items are for keeping your shoes shaped and not crushed or bend upwards in the front. I cleaned out and older ladies house for her one time she told me what ever I find I can keep. I found an envelope with $610 in it all dated 1963. And a bunch of purses which she stashed $1.832 plus I found a 1862 $2 bill and an 1863 $500. I told her about them and she told me it was my payment for helping her out.
I know that this is an older video, but I've been binge watching a BUNCH of your old videos with the hubby, lately. I just wanted to give a quick tip on old purses, if a purse is older and moldy, even, they can be cleaned up with some dish soapy water. Believe it or not, a genuine leather purse, like a Coach can be, fully submurged in a soapy water bath and gently scrubbed with a facial brush/nail brush and set in the sun to dry or blown dry, after patting the surface moisture off. A canvas/material made purse can be cleaned with a shop towel and a foam upholstery cleaner (Blue Coral is what I've used), which is also Great for spot cleaning inside and outside purses and "Ink B Gone" is best for ink stains or sharpie marks. I would wipe the mold away with an alcohol swipe/wipe. I watch a TH-cam channel that restores old and hopeless looking purses/bags/cases to practically new looking with these methods. Just wanted to share! Stay Safe, Positive, Funny and Keep up your Highly Entertaining Scavenging Adventures! "Watch your head, watch your head" and such!👍😂🤣😂🤣

Those Powerhouse X-10 devices at the end use your home's power wires to send control signals to the plug units to turn lights or appliances on and off. They usually have a few dials where you can set the "group" and then you use that on the remote to say which group to activate. This was home automation back before appliances had their own internal clocks and before wi-fi/phones could be used to control things.
