    Be carefull, check with local government agencies like the Registry of Deed prior to buying a land.I know foreigners are not allowed to purchase a land, good luck to both of you staying in the Philippines.

    So nice to have a new couple to relate the life in Siargao ! I am French leaving in Italy and I was in Siargao 25 years ago ,I love this place even I know it changed for the best in so many years !I was so sad after the typhoon but I still come to live there in 2023 ! I'll look for a piece of earth to build a house ! I know the law for the earth but you can find a deal ! I am not young even I feel young😂 and I want to be retired until the end on this island ! I visited a few times lot of the philippines and dream since so many years to live in Siargao ! Now I can do it !I love philippino people ,always smiling in good mood and always ready to help someone who need !In Europe it changed too much !(I have some friends in Cebu !) Continue to send video ! It is a real pleasure ! You are a beautiful couple and so natural ! I loved how you described the day of 16 December !I was imagining being there !I love how you help animals, I dedicate my life to animals since I am little and I know that in Philippines it is a lot to do !!I cannot wait to come !I am so happy you stay there so I can enjoy new vlogs on Siargao and follow the reconstruction of the island !All my love

    Thank you for investing and promoting life in the Philippines. I'm a Filipino living in Detroit, Michigan for 20 years and I've never been more proud of the Philippines until now due to all the improvements and infrastructures that are going on right now. It got me thinking of going back and investing on some properties there. Thanks again and keep up the great work.

    I guess you guys got scammed, unless you are just leasing the land. Be careful there's few scammers out there. It's a beautiful piece of land. Keep those videos coming. Wish you guys best of luck. So sweet of you guys adopting the kitty. Take care

    • @draks3031
      @draks3031 2 ปีที่แล้ว +45

      Yes they have been scammed i think, coz foreigner cannot own a land in ph. Its in the law. Ohmygod such a waist of money, you better inquire from attorney, so that person will go in jail. You can own a property but in a building condominium. Take care guys. So many scammers in phillipines you dont know about, its in the news already even filipino they scam also.

      @@draks3031 Your right they need to talk to a lawyer there in Siargao, just like the Traveling Clatt he is leasing the land and still can build a house. Scammers are everywhere they always find a victim. Hopefully they read the comments of viewers and take some action.

      Everything is negotiable if the price is right😅😒🙄lol. At some point perhaps you are right. The best thing to do is to check the legal papers of transfer of ownership to your name. But i ain't quite sure what Philippines government implemented laws that allowing foreigns to purchase any land here in the Philippines.

      I think discipline comes from within. What happen to 123 city ordinance? Every business establishments or even vendors needs to have sanitary garbage disposal. If they don't people should call the barangay officials and report it as littering. So that next time they will behave.

      Not much of filipino's can travel abroad or even all the tourist destination in the Philippines. So lucky are those who can with trust fund.😂 Sad but it's true.. that is why filipino's are curious and happy to see people travel in local areas so they know what's going on and where to go next.😁

What I know is that foreigners are not allowed to buy a residential land in the Philippines unless they legally married to Filipinos or legally will put a business. In general Philippine real estate law prohibits the foreign ownership of land. This prohibition on foreigners owning land in the Philippines is found in the Philippines Constitution. ... A corporation is considered to be of Philippine nationality if at least 60% of the corporation is owned by Filipino citizens.

      @@therevolution91 Foreigners can NOT own a land under our current Philippines 1987 constitution unless they go into the process of naturalization which is the judicial act of adopting a foreigner and clothing him with the privileges of a native-born citizen INCLUDES BUYING A LAND WITH THE RIGHT TO TRANSFER THE TITLE TO THEIR NAME. It implies the renunciation of a former nationality and the fact of entrance into a similar relation towards a new body politic. SOURCE: 1987 Philippine Constitution, Article IV, Section 1.4
      It is fair to the natives because we have been through colonizations for the longest time. Hi guy's! I'm very impressed and jealous with you guys. I'm a pure Filipino born in the Philippines and living almost 36 years here in Holland. I'm dreaming to go back and to live there again in a nice quite province with a normal life together with my wife. But our problem is our budget is not yet enough to buy a lot and build our home. That's why my only chance is to wait my pension, but it will take me 12 years more. :( I'm also trying to blog but I'm not really good at it and I'm also too shy. I've been to some other countries for vacation like Europe, U.S. and I have many things experienced already in my life like a very terrible car accident and loosing my mom. But all of this I just still have one more dream and that is to go back there to live in a quite peaceful normal life with a beautiful nature surrounding made by God in the Philippines. We'll guy's good luck, stay safe and God bless you both! By the way, build a strong typhoon proof house with solar panel and rain water farm too! ;)

    Former natural-born Filipinos can own property in the Philippines, subject to limitations prescribed by Philippine Republic Act 8179 (residential property up to 1000 square meters of urban land or one hectare of rural land) and Batas Pambansa 185 (business property 5000 square meters of urban land or three hectares of rural land). Philippine real estate law does not allow outright ownership of real property by foreign nationals. Filipinos and former Filipino citizens and Philippine majority owned corporations are permitted to own land, buildings, condominiums and townhouses. Foreign nationals may buy condominiums units in Philippine condos (shares in condominium corporations) as long as not more than 40% of the units in a project are acquired by foreigners (Republic Act 4726, otherwise known as the Condominium Act).

They can buy a house but they cannot own the dirt under that house. It's the law. They either found a way to circumvent the law or they have a lease agreement.

    Mabuhay Guys Welcome to the Philippines; you say you bought land in the Philippines. I have been here in the Philippines for 20 yrs. My late Filipina wife and I purchased land here 9 yrs ago because she had dual citizenship. She passed away a few yrs ago, and I thought I would have to move off the property because foreigners are not allowed to own property in the Philippines. But after talking to an attorney, I found out that I can inherit this property because I am on the purchase contract and a permanent resident here. But the title will remain in my late wife's and my name. I can sell it in my late wife's name but only to a Filipino citizen. May I suggest you let another Attorney see your documents? The NBI may want to question you about the person that sold you the property.
    BUT not all is lost. The property owner just has to change the paperwork to a leasehold contract for fifty years with a twenty-five or fifty-year extension. Just make sure they are the real owners of the property and make sure the contract is prepared by a real attorney.

    The law do not permit foreigners to own a land here in the Philippines. The least one can do is to lease the land. There's another vloggers there in Siargao name the Travelling Clatt who lease a land and in the process of building a house when the typhoon hit. There's another Swede there who manages a foundation called Nature Kids of Siargao who's married to a Filipino. Her name is Sanne, they have a child and they own a property maybe because of her Filipino husband. Maybe you're friends with them. Ask them about land ownership and its legalities to avoid getting scammed. Take care.
