The game floors the stat value and stores that number as the stat when it is recalculated. So it goes: First boost: 100 -> 112 Second boost: 112 -> 126 Third boost: 126 -> 141 After multiplying, always remove the decimal, never round up (floor). I was talking to Egg about the fact that he’s never played the Let’s Go games after that pikachu run and it made me wonder how cool a demake of those games would be, Gen 3 mechanics but the team comps for almost every major trainer are way better than any other version and most of the issues are the things they took away, not the things they added
When i played yellow legacy i was suprised how easy it was but upon looking others play it i realized that the way i chose pokemon was responsible for me having it easy ...i train pokemon to a certain level and than use the least leveled one as the first ...like train pokemon up to level 10 and sort the team from low to high level than do the same for 20 30 etc...somehow the way the game was changed and the pokemon by the trainers used always ended up with me having the perfect pokemon with the perfect moveset at the perfect time fighting the right opponent...since i did not read comments or watch any videos about the romhack before playing i was mindblown learning that it was coincidence...🤣 Also i dont really care for stats i only use pokemon i like and think are cool so there are tons of pokemon with awesome stats and movesets i will never use because i think they are lame... i guess this also contributed to that the smith team probably wanted to suprise or catch me off guard but because the way i chose pokemon is not based on "logic" but preference made it backfire...😂
Hey I asked this a while ago, but are you planning on releasing your overlay for Yellow Legacy? Maybe you covered this in the video, I’m not done yet. I’ve done a lot of optimization in the Legacy Discord for Solo Pikachu Hardcore Glitchless, and it would help keep track of some things to get past Brock. There’s a level cap of 12, so you can’t use double team, so you have to use a specific number of Growls and Tail Whips to be optimal, and using the overlay to keep track would be nice.
Unfortunately I don’t intend to release it for Yellow Legacy, at least anytime in the near future. Maybe if I play the game more and actually make the code robust. It’s held together with tape right now.
@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon I respect that. I’m sure it’s not easy to make an overlay like yours. I’m not actually doing the run, just helping optimize the Brock split-which is a major pain. The rest of the run is manageable with Double-Team and various coverage moves, but Brock requires like 700 encounters just to get enough stat exp to hope to knock out the Geodude reliably.
I love this romhack! I had so much fun playing it that I even completed the Pokedex which is something I almost never do in Pokemon games. It's funny that you had so much trouble with Paralysis in your run. In my run, it was confusion. The fact they boosted Supersonic's accuracy made the early game a confusion nightmare for me haha. One thing I noticed you didn't mention is the fact that you can now buy Repels in Pewter City. No longer will you need to turn off encouters in Mt Moon!
Since you outsped Raichu at the beginning of the fight, Pikachu was still faster when both got paralyzed (18v16). There was no point in using quick attack!

Focus energy is the opposite of useless in yellow Legacy. If you use it before something like fury. Swipes you can wreck things if you get a five-hitter.
Is that a tool that you are using that shows the power, accuracy, and PP of a move and changes dynamically based off of in game pokemon? Or are you manually changing that for every single encounter? If it is a tool, where can I download it and how does it work?
I'm guessing Sabrina has a Gengar in her rematch team because she gets a Haunter in the anime. Finally done with the solo challenges playlist! Time to see what else I can find on the channel...
This is one of the funniest solo challenges I've seen from Scott. Also refreshing because it's clear that Scott is somewhat out of his depth with the changes. Kinda want to play it myself now, maybe a fighting or rock type run.
It’s because early on in his channel he was new to game mechanics and thought venomoth was a flying/psychic type or something. Since then it’s been an ongoing joke
@ZealousPawn is correct. I used to think it was Psychic/Flying type and so in my early videos I always used the wrong moves against it and got tons of comments with viewers correcting me. So I just leaned into it and started saying ridiculous things. Then it sort of just stuck...
I wish you had used Agility more for the badge boost glitch during your playthrough. The 25% buff to your stats each time you use it can’t be understated. 20% less damage and do 25% more damage for just one use of Agility. I use Double Team in my playthrough on Pikachu, just one time makes him a strong option, but I know that’s against your rules.
I think the amount of coverage that Pikachu got really prevented me from adding Agility to my set. It would have at least helped with all the speed cuts from paralysis.
@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon It wouldn’t really be for the speed boost, more for the badge boost, though it definitely would have helped with paralysis. Obviously you know all about the badge boost, so I’m not trying to lecture you on it, but Pikachu’s increased badge boost is amazing in Legacy. Basically every time you used Reflect or Light Screen, you could have used Agility instead. It doesn’t prevent as much damage as either do, but it does both in one move slot, and also boosts your damage output. Fly is another one that probably could have been cut out, except for Erika and maybe Bruno. Surf, Thunderbolt and Cut are all you really need. Think of all those near-one hits and all the times that Pikachu had to reset on the last Pokémon. You could have taken a little less damage from every hit, and dealt a little more each time. I really think it could solve a lot of problems if you ever do a follow up with Legacy Pikachu. I could be wrong, I haven’t looked at the damage calcs, but I would definitely look into it as an option.
Would love to see more Runs in Yellow Legacy. I think the next solo ones for this rom hack Scyther (or Pinsir) just because of Cut. After that Hitmonchan, Venomoth and then Eevee these mons have had their stats change.
It’s one of the regular types that’s in the Vanilla game, it’s just unused. It has no interactions, so it’s not actually on the tables, which is why they used it for status moves. For trainers with good ai (Ai mod 3) it doesn’t increase or decrease their likelihood of use based on type-effectiveness. Ai mod 2 still makes them more likely to be used on the second turn though.

When i played yellow legacy i was suprised how easy it was but upon looking others play it i realized that the way i chose pokemon was responsible for me having it easy ...i train pokemon to a certain level and than use the least leveled one as the first ...like train pokemon up to level 10 and sort the team from low to high level than do the same for 20 30 etc...somehow the way the game was changed and the pokemon by the trainers used always ended up with me having the perfect pokemon with the perfect moveset at the perfect time fighting the right opponent...since i did not read comments or watch any videos about the romhack before playing i was mindblown learning that it was coincidence...🤣
Also i dont really care for stats i only use pokemon i like and think are cool so there are tons of pokemon with awesome stats and movesets i will never use because i think they are lame... i guess this also contributed to that
the smith team probably wanted to suprise or catch me off guard but because the way i chose pokemon is not based on "logic" but preference made it backfire...😂
Craig's Arcanine is called Furball? 50:06
"'That's a Basic bird,' no no no, it's a Legendary bird!"
It's both!
42:22 Arcanine's dig did 62 hp damage to a Pikachu? (mind you, this move has 100 base power in gen 1) So... What the heck?
Sugimori's Pikachu is the best Pikachu. In fact, all of his designs are!
"Uninteresting and unchanged" Scott says as he obtained the TM14 "Blizard" 😂😂😂😂😂 28:27 💀💀💀
I basically never see your streams just because the timing doesn't work with my schedule. I caught this one, and it was a blast.
Since you outsped Raichu at the beginning of the fight, Pikachu was still faster when both got paralyzed (18v16). There was no point in using quick attack!
Heh
14:23 oooo 69 nice... but you missed it :(
41:02 ooooo 69 nice
42:03 oooo 69... not nice...
18:38 yay Scott beat surge with his anime only weakness too 😂
19:16 zero reset run ends here 😞 F in the chat Press F to pay respects
Focus energy is the opposite of useless in yellow Legacy. If you use it before something like fury. Swipes you can wreck things if you get a five-hitter.
Is that a tool that you are using that shows the power, accuracy, and PP of a move and changes dynamically based off of in game pokemon? Or are you manually changing that for every single encounter? If it is a tool, where can I download it and how does it work?
Always love seeing you play romhacks. I'd love to see a nuzzlocke of this game!
Im on the other side of the sprite recolors. I think they look great
I'm guessing Sabrina has a Gengar in her rematch team because she gets a Haunter in the anime.
Finally done with the solo challenges playlist! Time to see what else I can find on the channel...
18:41 I give you praise Scott
This is one of the funniest solo challenges I've seen from Scott. Also refreshing because it's clear that Scott is somewhat out of his depth with the changes.
Kinda want to play it myself now, maybe a fighting or rock type run.
Oh this is cool! I'm into Pokemon but never had enough patience for the newer generation games, but I'd enjoy trying this version!
At 27:49 I got really confused when you said Venomoth is now a ground/ground type and that it was electric/grass previously. What did I miss Scott?
I think it's a joke he does every time he makes these runs. No idea why either.
Then it sort of just stuck...
ngl solo runs in this romhack could be really fun to watch. I Love your vids.

The Ivysaur has two Razor leaf LOL
this was such a good update. thank you for fixing everything. you are amazing and i love your videos!!
After that Hitmonchan, Venomoth
and then Eevee these mons have had their stats change.
Love how the bug catcher has a pinsir and metapod. Anime accurate
Thank you Scott. Great video and good to see your improvement in Coding (and Using Quick Attack)
Where does the bird tipe interaction go on the ai look up table?
Or was that changed?
It’s one of the regular types that’s in the Vanilla game, it’s just unused. It has no interactions, so it’s not actually on the tables, which is why they used it for status moves. For trainers with good ai (Ai mod 3) it doesn’t increase or decrease their likelihood of use based on type-effectiveness. Ai mod 2 still makes them more likely to be used on the second turn though.
Neutral match ups aren’t defined in the lookup pairs.
This run was incredible. I may have to play this myself.
A lot of the changes were to make the game anime accurate, like onix having constrict.
