Until 1986 the Hallberg - Rassy 312 Mark I was built, with the portlights in the blue stripe in the hull and with or without quarter berth. sea4see -2 degrees F with crunchy frozen snow and ice on the ground. My home is warm, my cars start, my BMW motorcycle is put away for the winter, and most of my work is done in doors. However, it is easy to feel cold this time of year in the Upper Midwest of the USA. Seeing you working on your boat, dreaming about sailing the Mediterranean on warm summer days, keeps my heart warm despite the cold. Enjoy very much your channel and also the quality of boats you choose to refit and how properly you do repairs.

    Many new things! Like someone else said, graphics, intro and exit design and a longer episode than usual. But there was very much to learn as well. What I learn most is how you do such good, high quality work! When I do repairs on my boat I do just enough to fix the problem - it doesn't have to look pretty. But you inspire me to do better, so thank you. As has been said already, your sailboat will be much better than new when you are done! Scott W

    Gabriel - I really enjoyed this video, you are making superb progress and doing a beautiful job. You should have asked George Harrison to cut two spare lengths of packing while he had all the stuff in front of him - these spares could be stored in a ziplock bag and taped to the rudder shaft at a convenient point. I bet you slept like a dead man after that marathon session.😀👍⛵️

    Use a small socket when tightening hose clamps/jubilee clips. Saves shoving the screwdriver through your palm if you slip. You are not repairing that boat, you are re-manufacturing it, superb.

    Pretty sure it is not called a stuffing box in english, more like axle seal. But as a Norwegian I perfectly understand what you mean, we have the exact same translation into english :) Love your channel and Ellös is an awesome vessel and your and Andreas work are so inspiring!

    Sometimes these modern synthetics like the stuffing cord are much better than the old, which remind me of planking caulk on wooden boats. But some traditional things cannot be improved.....like your plate of pasta....now we go off to eat!

    • @sea4see
      @sea4see  5 ปีที่แล้ว
