    When Jimmy sits opposite Joe Rogan, you realize even more how educated and clever Jimmy is. As soon as he realizes that he is vastly superior in a topic, he backs off so that the host gets his space - great person!

      Full credit to Jimmy for overcoming dyslexia but every podcast he does, he drops in his Cambridge degree and Shell executive career. He wasn't that smart that he realised short changing the Treasury of revenue might not go down well with the comedy paying public. He was smart enough to turn the outing by PM David Cameron around and save his career. Ironic that later on Cameron was outed as a beneficiary of an off-shore tax efficient trust.

      I saw him live a few years back. I've seen alot of comedians but he was one of the best in person. Billy Connelly being the best for me though.
      Jimmy gets the house lights up right from the get go, so he can interact with the audience. He's quite genius.

    I needed this podcast today! Battling my own demons from a list of mental health issues, letting everything get me down and struggling to get back up. So I took a day to just chill out and watch a podcast, and I'm so glad I chose this one.
    Everything Joe and Jimmy said about suicide is so true, I had 7 attempts to my name before I even turned 30, and I still have my moments to this day when the voices pop up in my head telling me to do something. What makes it worse is when people try to sympathise with you and how you're feeling, with things like "I know how you feel"... That's so dangerous, and the biggest lie ever because we never really know how people are feeling. ❤

    the best advice I've ever gotten:
    If you're feeling depressed:
    You must get out of it because depression leads to nowhere and to nothing. There is nothing that can be accomplished within depression. And so if you find yourself depressed, figure out how to become angry. Whether it's at yourself, at God, at the world, whatever... get angry. Anger begets action and indeed, whatever that action might be, even if it's negative, it's better than the dirt-nothing that was in depression. Once you are actually -doing- anything, you are in a better state than the sorry, inaction of that depression and keep getting angry until you can string-together your way up and out of the bed, off the couch, out of the house.

    • @h7opolo
      @h7opolo 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      that's right. mushrooms taught me this. i wasn't angry at myself, i was angry at the world. cured my chronic depression with a trip. the next step in enlightenment is realizing anger is a path divergent from love, and one of these paths begets more happiness for all than the other path. It takes life experiences to advance to the path of love, even for nuisances, annoyances, and pure evil.

    • @egonkirchof

    Joe this man is someone called a comedian. He makes people "laugh" for a living. Have him on the show more. I know its confusing that he hasn't taken his shirt and jacket of to tell a "funny story" but trust us that this non purple faced man is funny. Ignore the fact he did NO press ups or talked about killing anything in his little chat he is a man and funny.

    Here in Scotland, if you are a resident, and fill the criteria your education is free. But even with the fees being paid the student loans take decades to pay back! I attended Aberdeen University in Scotland, the second in my family to go to University. My Dad had a 1st from Ruskin College, Oxford. A Trade Union college. He won a bursary to study there after his job as a Chief Engineer on trawling boats ended due to Aberdeen becoming the Oil Capital of Europe . Almost every member of my family were involved in the fishing trade, so post 1975 the family scattered and moved onto other jobs.

    Joe is probably the preeminent interviewer/podcaster on the planet. I'm sure he enjoys doing the standup but he's shit at it. He can be entertaining but he's definitely not funny. Jimmy Carr, on the other hand, is one of the funniest comics in the world. Glad he's sticking with what he's SO good at.
