YET, a lot of people look down on them because they didn't go to college! My daughter is a plumber & my son a Millwright, both union tradesmen. They have a very good income, enough to have a comfortable, one income 2 kid family! I really can't figure out why there's such a sigma about "college or trades" a true mystery!😢

What a beautiful transformation. You might consider painting the camera's white base the wall color. That would help to not have the eyes drawn to it. If legal, do the same with the alarm and watch it disappear. I hope you can afford more windows soon because the difference between the white and oak frames is so drastic with the new ones just blending into the wall.

The room is stunning!!!! My first time commenting but I have watched this come together in awe of what you do. You’re gifted! What a blessing to be able. Now the subject of my comment: the proximity of a light to the camera will surely cause interference with the camera at night. Sorry to say. I had this issue with my front door camera when I mounted it below the porch light. This so severely impedes the function of the camera that I can only view persons right in front of it.
I have a suggestion. Find a spray paint the same color as the walls and spray paint the fire alarm and the white bases of the cameras. Help them blend in. Right now, they're extremely noticable. If you like it, maybe the covers in your mini splits. The functionality won't be compromised. You'll still see them, but they will blend better. Additionally, as someone who installed CCTV professionally, I don't think one camera in the kitchen is going to be sufficient. I'd put a second camera in the cross corner. Especially because of how large that room is.

Not enough plug sockets! My kitchen is tiny and I have 5 double sockets and I wish I had 8, at least! When you add up all the appliances that need to be accessed all the time, like kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee machine, fridge, freezer add in the occasional ones like mixers, juicers, sandwich toasters, irons, phone & tablet chargers, potentially tv’s, radios & CD players, the list goes on forever. Don’t forget to put lighting under wall cupboards, so you don’t cast shadows on the food you’re preparing, which happens with central ceiling lights & wall mounted spot lighting. Just saying.
Very nice kitchen space! You should install some sockets on the floor in the middle of the room where you are going to put the big wooden table/ furniture to make it easier using blenders or whatever, before you put the flooring
If you don't like the corner, perhaps checking regulation on making the fire alarm bell the same color as the wall. Some bells allow it, others do not.

Didn’t hear you say anything about carbon monoxide detectors in USA it’s mandatory not sure if they are there but safety is the most critical aspect of anywhere people and animals are living or spending time. Love seeing the kitchen progress. Just curious, are you required to have a sprinkler system as part of the fire suppression / safety system ?, We are required to here in Canada for any commercial space. It does add a significant cost to a building project.

This was necessary at the church I worked for that had a commercial kitchen (range, dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer). I don't know what the legal requirements in France are, but should your capacity increase, it may become necessary to address this at some point. The kitchen is coming along BEAUTIFULLY!

Hey, in regards to the colour of the beam stain you tried yesterday, as an interior design student I would just like to say that it looks particularly dark because you tried it on a small surface. The bigger the surface, the lighter the colour becomes. Also, the ceiling is very tall so that could help visually bringing it down a little and making the room feel more welcoming and less sterile ;)
Gwen and Billy, time to start talking to some entrepreneur cooks, chefs, pastry chefs. For a few years this kitchen could be 1/2 kitchen 1/2 dining. This space is very inviting and beautiful and timeless. Maybe it should be a simple lovely dining room, ultimately.
