Tesla pumpers are probably j*rking off right now at this news.... hahaha
The world's most unskilled liars still nonetheless can get millions of people to believe them if they have a good platform.
They're shining Musk's rocket made me spit out my coffee.
Isn't that what we all thought the answer should be?!
@@2LegHumanist Nothing like a good polish to boost someone's ego, but it always ends in a bit if a flop.

Yes
I watched them all, I need more content.
Is this really why we can't just have busses in the US?... busses would be PRETTY AMAZING TO HAVE!!! Not these deathtraps... I hate living here...
Waymo is working in San Francisco, LA and Phoenix. Busses are also there. They are not mutually exclusive
Everything in America is corporatized for profit. If bussing was more profitable, we would see private businesses create busses.
@@sp123which is the dumbest way to organize resources.
Capitalism L
@trucksanddirt1506 la and Phoenix have famously terrible public transit. What are you talking about? The only reason San Francisco's public transit is passable for a US city is because they didn't destroy their street car network like every other city in the US. This gimmick isn't a solution to anything, it's just a problem.
@@trucksanddirt1506 buses and trains are and will always be infinitely better for moving vast amounts of people around than these terrible robotaxis
Robo taxis are gonna turn a whole bunch of millionaire tech Bros into Uber drivers as they desperately try and prove that there’s a future in them
No. They just quietly quickly move the $s to the next hyped scam I mean scheme. Pump and dump - it is what every investor wants but rarely admit it.
4:20 you're absolutely right, mass transportation would be the way to go if you really cared about the environment
Yeap... it's is clearly a scam
Right. And environment aside, our current infrastructure/ roads could not take another million taxis on the road. Imagine the nightmare that would be traffic
@@HopeIsFleetingBYD makes electric buses and it would be great if Tesla did too. A Tesla EV bus would be cool (probably) and might convince more to use public transport while showing the company is serious about putting the environment before profits.
That "reveal" will just be how it "will" look like, but nothing actually working that you could put on the road without a steering wheel will be shown.
I am so confused. Let’s give a fully functional, perfect FSD to Elon Musk. I don’t know even with that, this robotaxi thing would be successful. Why are people assuming that it will be the biggest thing ever? There are buses, trains, taxis, Uber, Lyft, etc. For riders, there is no difference between taking a regular taxi or Waymo and taking a Tesla robotaxi. Thinking robotaxi will be cheaper than buses and trains is ridiculous. If it is cheaper than a bus/train fare, how is a robotaxi Tesla owner going to make 30,000 dollars or whatever number Elon came up with, especially if everyone buys a Tesla for that? It is outrageously inefficient. At best, it would be a glorified Uber/Lyft. And, lastly, Americans love consuming and owning things. People are not going to suddenly ride robotaxi instead of driving their own cars.
I'm with you. Why are people assuming that robo taxi will be the biggest thing ever? The service that the robo taxi has the potential to provide already exists, and it has since the days of the horse drawn cart. Who cares if it is a "driverless" taxi? Rideshare drivers aren't exactly the highest paid labour on the planet. Trying to replace them with technology is going to have such a minimal impact on costs, you've got to wonder why. And then there is the human interaction to consider. Rideshare drivers are able to help people with their luggage, they're able to have a conversation and they are able to police behaviour, to an extent, at least.
And you make a very good point regarding people "owning things". We like our autonomy, and cars give that to us. At the end of the day, you take your car 99% of the time, you don't hail a cab, book a rideshare or catch public transport. Car "culture" isn't just about hot cars, it's about how we use our cars. Cars are a lot more than just transport. Robo Taxi won't change that.
They cray cray or just DUMB !
Along the lines of policing behavior, who is going to keep the interior clean? Yuk.
There's Waymo, a true full self driving company that has been transporting passengers for years and is losing money doing it. Elon is either delusional or, more likely, he hopes Tesla shareholders continue to be delusional.
ELON would never ride in a FSD if the drive said "And I am going to close my eyes the full way, let's go :) "
Bet ELON the "Amazing" would never doit - scared rabbit moment.
It's a challenge ELON, ELON. You got guts or you got brains?. Hahahahahah Bet he picks brains when it comes to his own life.
I'm old and have considered myself an environmentalist for decades, 0 to 60 means nothing to me, I want total efficiency, burning rubber isn't that. The particulate pollution from car tires is nearly 2,000 times worse than that from vehicle exhaust pipes
true... but with an ICE car you get both pollutions.
I am a convinced car driver. I really like driving cars, I also VERY much like driving EVs. But for the environment, the best car is still the one that isn't built.
There is only one definitive fact when FSD and Robo Taxi's work, and that is when Tesla says they will assume liability for any accidents, injuries, or death. Until then it's just talk.
A bus hold around fifty people so instead of one bus at peak times we are going to have 50 cabs?Good luck getting anywhere in that traffic.
Ever since the days of horse and cart, at least 2 seats but mostly more, people would sit on the tray (the flat bit for goods).
Some early cars had multiple rows of seats and some had seats in what is now called the trunk - called the "dicky seat".
And people were slim, so the "bench" seat could have 3 or 4 people across. Ahhh, the days of no seat belts.
A Horse and buggy was equivalent to todays 2 door sports car.
I traveled 25 miles by bus a train to work for $4.50 one way. I doubt it will be this cheap.

Elon really has gone off the deep end. I used to think it was cool but how he's pushing against his engineers to build basically pipedreams like boring and hyperloop (pun intended) is insane and the fact Cathy Wood and others believe this stuff is insane.
We need big dreamers but also good engineers who can make it a reality.
It reminds me of the iPod.
Toshiba came to an Apple engineer and showed him a prototype 1 inch drive they had no idea what to use for it was neat but too small for a laptop.
Jobs saw it and said I can now carry all my songs in my pocket.
They shipped it with iTunes a year and a bit later ... no empty promises or tweet or next year.
It worked the first day out of the box as promised.
@@tibbydudeza the difference between Jobs and Elon is Jobs never pretended to be an engineer and deferred to his engineers. Elon is neither an engineer or a designer. Hell he didn't even design the Tesla.

56 B, I think I heard a number of times.
@@realchris the payout is at the cost of shareholders, meaning selling 56 billion worth of stock ? Or is it a transference of shares from the current large holders in the company to Elon ? Or is it a further issuance of shares ?
For perspective: Tesla's lifetime (20 year) net profits are not reaching $56 billion.
@@Nex_gen04 from what I understand they will print stock for him and dilute investors that's why everyone will vote no.
What would be awesome, a robo taxi where you put your luggage in and it drives you to the air port, but the luggage gets directly moved to the plane, you don't have to take it out and hand it over. Some train stations do this already.
I would pay $ to watch Elon get roasted! His ego get destroyed! Because he's a 🤡
Yup, Musk has no clue what he is talking about. 10 years of "SAE level 5 full self driving coming next year". Who is dumb enough to believe Musk anymore? Dummy fanboys! LOL
When I ride my motorcycle, I stay as far away from Teslas as possible.
Sadly, several motorcyclists have been killed by Teslas on assisted driving, probably because they lack a true distance-measuring capability, so you’re justified in staying away from them.
I do the same when I ride my bicycle and I notice a Tesla approaching via my side mirrors. I’ve seen several demonstration clips where the vehicle suddenly veers towards an unsuspecting bicyclist it’s approaching and the driver has to grab the wheel and steer away. I hate we’re all exposed to a giant beta test without informed consent.
I stay away when i park my car (shopping centre...). Just, do not want to get unlucky.
Teslas love the taste of motorbikes.
You will have to buy a Tesla robot to clean the puke and/or trash out of your Tesla robotaxi.
😂
Excuse me, I have to call the robo toliet"
I think Musk would have been smarter to go with the 25K Tesla. The August robotaxi show I think will just be a pretty mockup of what the car will supposedly look like but since FSD is only level 2 a REAL robotaxi is a long ways off and would most likely have an exorbitant price that few people could pay for (lidar is expensive 🤗). Musk is just trying to pump up the stock with these robotaxi announcements while Tesla is going downhill.
My best guess is there wasn't any movies he liked that has cheap cars. But he loves movies with robotaxis, haha. Sadly this is how his mind works.
Rideshare scooter tossing competitions at the park are popular where I live. What sports might people come-up with for these "RoboTaxis"?
"Identify the mystery stain" and "What's that smell?" aren't technically sports but I'm sure they will be the most common activities.
Musk is the tech version of trump. Bold claims that rarely come to reality.
Millions of 2 door taxis on the road to transport a single person at a time, there's no way that could possibly be bad for traffic right? Lol what idiots

Agreed. Ever since I realized all the hyped claims of range, charging ... I felt this is really a scam.
Most people would want/like EVs if they were reasonable, but they are far from reasonable. I see big class actions.
No one can get anything like the range if you are told "Please don't use the last 20% of battery and pls be careful charging the top 20% ... and the heater may (HA) decrease range and AC will drain range ... and cold weather ... ". A WOPING BIG deception.

Roasting Farzed you're cooking low hanging low-hanging fruit.
You've nailed it, this cab design is very stupid. For specialized cab you want something like London cab: tall design for easy entry/exit, more vertical sitting position comfortable for any age and clothing, more space inside so you can ride with your luggage. And for any large city, rides to airport/train station are bread and butter of any taxi company, so this thing just leaves this whole market on a table.
Also London taxi cab drivers need to pass the test ... need to know any route the shortest way around London without using a GPS
Drones can take off, fly around and land on their own but yet no one wants to use them for transportation without pilots out front with skin in the game. I would say it's important to appreciate the difference between putting trust in a replaceable disposable piece of tech versus another human. If the airline industry could cut out the cost of employing pilots I'm sure they would. Beyond the novelty, is this ultimately what people want?
I watch the combat footage from Ukraine and sometimes you see a lone Russian soldier most likely a conscript running away while a FPV suicide drone is stalking him and boom.
It is justified if you a combatant and dont surrender but still.
They not yet automated like the hunter killers from Terminator but as capable platforms became cheaper and faster it gives me worried vibes.

I'll just say this, Thunder is subscribed to my channel. Appreciate you watching both of us :)
is it weird that last year, a 12k tesla emplyment offering got like 3 million applicants? are all those applicants absolute idiots? asking for a friend
A bus can carry 30-60 people at a time thus relieving congestion on the roads. the answer is not two person cars and more of them the answer is more busses and bus routes. And make them publicly owned companies so you're not beholden to ever increasing fares because of shareholder greed, The service simply needs to continue to exist for it's users. The clue is in the name "Public transport".
Waymo does 50,000 paid rides per week, soon to be 200,000 and growing. Waymo will be doing 1 Million paid rides per week in 2-3 years and Tesla will still be talking of Robotaxis.
I worked for someone who kept pushing for crypto, ML & is talking about infinite compression algorithms, the business was in ecommerce and was going well and I was offered 15% because I was basically carrying the company, but I left because I knew long term it was never going to work out because the boss is an idiot.
Elon is the shitty gift nobody wants ,every year…🎉
I think the robo taxi is just going to be a shiny distraction to get more investment money
I have brought this issue up to Tesla investors hoping to have a dialogue but I find the fact that there is no steering wheel in the robotaxi as a real potential problem. If it dies, how are you going to move what will essentially be a brick. If anyone has a reason as to why there is no steering wheel, please let me know.
There is only one possibility for an actual robotaxi being on that stage in August, and that's if he licensed or copied a Waymo car with LIDAR. If that happens, then I hope the lawyers building the FSD class action suits spring into action, because every Tesla owner who was suckered into buying that will finally be able to say it was not delivered and never will be.
There is absolutly no way a robo taxi can be cheaper than a bus.
When you ride the bus you are giving up time (hours per day) in exchange for a very cheep ride.
A robo taxi would somehow have to save riders time AND money.
When I am on a bus, I just pull out my laptop and do work. So no, I am not giving up time to save money. And yes there is no way a robo-taxi can be as cheap as bus ($2 per ride in major US cities) - even charging much more, most robo-taxi operations are losing money big time.
uber costs about $3/minute and they LSOE money but I've hired private taxis for $2/min and they weren't really making money. 8.6% of the uber price is labor at their average pay of $17.36/hr. The res tis the app, gas, tires, maintenance, insurance, etc.
He thinks eliminating public mass transit is a good idea. And as an 80s teen as well, I think he is subconsciously trying to replicate the looks of sci-fi from back then.
Klaus is a similar clown and they will keep trying
Everything Chris says about Robotaxi rings true. As the owner of a Tesla Model Y 😵💫 I’ve had enough experience with Autopilot and a month free trial of “full” self driving I can tell you from first hand experience that the technology isn’t there yet. I predict Robotaxi will end up replacing the human drivers on what was supposed to be a Hyperloop prototype in Las Vegas. In other words, it will be basically the same as the autonomous pods that have operated at the Dallas Fort Worth airport for many years.
See this if you haven't too. I talk more about what's in the book. th-cam.com/video/x_U5B_SlgPU/w-d-xo.html
And regarding the robotaxi stuff, it's funny bc the book describes some key info that for whatever reason his stock promoters don't address.
I think the problem for many is to differentiate between what Musk has archived already (and pushing EVs + infrastructure to the current level is an achievement) and the pipe dreams that are completely unrealistic and nonsense. Many think if this guy can create EVs and rockets that are landing again he can do everything....
Chris, you said what I think all the time listening to fanboys at 5:40: "I can't take too much more..." LOL. They can't solve phantom braking problems, but they are going full Robotaxi for the 10th year running.

Do robotaxis defy the laws of physics? Do they not take up space? You can't take everyone off buses and trains and put them in robotaxis. There just isn't space for them. Not to mention how annoying that would be.

They will NOT be cheaper than the bus!
Im waiting for the bus. Elon will not deliver...
I like the self-driving car from the movie Upgrade. I know that car doesn’t exist but neither does Elon’s version. I like that at least he is thinking about the future of travel. Where would we be if all the inventions we saw as kids in the cartoon The Jetsons if someone didn’t imagine that it could happen? I happy we have the cell phone, moving sidewalks at the airport and some train stations, and eventually self-driving cars.
I like Johnnycab!
It’s the same thing as a guy with a bicycle with a 2 person seat.
Tesla couldn't get their rental car deals to work and their truck fleet is not doing that great either. The pumpers hyped these and are now slient on them.

There isn't room for any more cars (including robot taxis) in UK cities.
Gosh, a mass transit system in the US… what a novel idea. Naw, 200MM two seater taxis - the simplest solution is usually correct.
How do they fall for this, it seems when you gave made your fame and fourtube from shilling for a documented scamer and liar.

Quick question…how ffs does Elmo Mush make his 💩 throw away cars any cheaper? The materials used in the interiors are the cheapest looking crap I’ve ever seen in a car. The fitment is horrid.
We are going to Mars!
Does Mars want us?
We want robots driving people?
Do people want cars driving them?
Musk fanboys are going to Mars on one way trip, but not most sane people. LOL
Hey Chris, would love to get your thoughts on the next gen/low cost car. Reuters had reported that it was scrapped and then Musk stated it was actually being accelerated. Would love to know what is going on there. Thanks!
That would be helpful as nothing I’ve seen them share would take a skilled CAD or Photoshop user more than an hour (the digital greyscale renderings) to a week of effort (the “photorealistic” 3D renderings), and wouldn’t be able to produce more than a non-functional aesthetic model.
You do realize that they designing this first robot taxi vehicle to satisfy the majority of usage first right? Look at the data that released by Uber where most usage are for 1 to 2 people.
so far whatever elon says .... few gets delivered
NOBODY TALKS ABOUT THIS CAR BEING A 3 WHEELER
You think it’s gonna be three?
Musk doesn't care about an economically priced EV because Musk doesn't give a flying fig about people of modest means. His attitude toward public transportation proves that, if there's any doubt. The most generous thing we can say is Musk cares about the top 25% of society, but that's a stretch.
Elon Musk: "I mean, it's one bus ride, Michael. What could it cost? 10 dollars?"
The expectation that you could achieve level 5 with cameras and a neural network on the grounds that humans have eyes and brains, demonstrates that Musk has only a superficial understanding of AI.
Artificial neural networks are a very poor analogue of biological neural networks.
He has forced the company down this road due to pure hubris and ignorance.
Yeap. He is too stoned....
Plus we also use our other senses when driving, and our eyes provide some form of distance gauging due to their very shallow depth of field and much higher resolution in their narrow field of view, unlike fixed focus cameras with much lower resolution.
@chow-chihuang4903
That's all true, but we also rely heavily on our general knowledge of the world, how it works and we can build world models in our heads to predict what will happen.
And even more significant is our ability to extrapolate. Humans don't have to be explicitly trained forvevery narrowly defined situation we can find ourselves in on the road. We can solve edge cases on the fly. Machine learning models can't do that. They have to be trained in advance and there is no amount of data Tesla could gather and process that will cover all of the edge cases.
Tesla could run 1 billion cars for 10k years and they'd still barely be scratching the surface.
Exactly. You will never get level 5 with just cameras. You need LiDAR.
@smccarthy945
Lidar, 3d mapping, geofencing etc all help to constrain the problem space, but Waymo etc havent solved it either. They still have ro regularly intervene, they just do it remotely.
Got a Tesla ad to vote on 3 and 4 for Elon
Just think if all buses, trams and subways were replaced by Rob taxis...

Chris, maybe a episode on the authorized bio of Elon Musk. It would be interesting. Whenever I see an "authorized bio" done with approval, cooperation, review of the person being written about, I don't believe the content 100%
There is no robotaxi and never will be.
I'm 38 years old I think the Cyber truck looks dumb included I like to have a vehicle which is Arrow Dynamic so means less drag it needs to run with and yes I think of the future every so often I always keep walking forward to see what's next coming out😊
Cheaper than the bus? Here in the UK most of us who are retired travel the bus for free!
And some cities provide all mass transit fare-free because they consider it a public service like public roads and sidewalks instead of a profit center, and it reduces traffic congestion. They basically save themselves and their riders the cost and hassle of a fare collection system.
I used the heck out of the complimentary shuttle bus service at my college. The only issue was limited hours on weekends.
Cyber TAXI will happen! :) it will take you from airport terminal to parking garage! :) kinda like the Boring tunnel in Vegas.
And those still require human drivers! If the assisted driving systems can’t handle a routine fixed route like a tunnel system with passenger pickup/dropoff stations, why are they allowed to be used on public roads?
ye robo taxcis for buses like metro for boring inc tunnels that host teslas driving 30 mph lolz
Really small cars don't sell well in the US, China has loads of them today, where would the big money be for Tesla to enter this market years late? I'd guess Mush(sic) knows this but cannot admit it publicly. Just like the cars, the margins will be tiny. Tesla is out of time, self driving isn't here even on the existing vehicles so who believes in a completely new Tesla robotaxi anytime soon?
Farzad doesn't understand diminishing returns.
Elon is definitely not John Galt
All this breathless anticipation for Musk's robotaxis reminds me of all the people waiting for the world to end.
Texas has a .75% franchise tax. If Tesla moves forward with its proposed plan, it will cost about $750M a year (minimum). Why is this topic taboo? No one is talking about it.
We need robo maids for the laundry and the cleaning
And gourmet cooking…
Sure sure ... sex as well 😂
Live in reality. 👍
No state would allow a car with no steering wheel brakes or pedals.
The whole robotaxi concept is thought from the perspective of a carowner and what they use their car for. But what is the usecase of someone, who doesn't have a car, meaning, they don't need a car in daily life?
It means: they have public transport, have a bike, can walk. When do they get a taxi? Long distance, very inconvinient time for public transport, transporting heavy or large cargo. So for cargoit doesn't work and for very long distances, it would be difficult, to run it profitable (like: somewhere rural and they have to drive back empty, but also compete with the price of a rental a.s.o.). Given, that the carless person lives likely in an area with good public transport, this would basically limit the profitable hours to late night drives, which barely have demand, because if so, the public transport would cover these hours... If you consider these, it's a really small market, they are targeting.
I mean we do realize that it's no different than the space that's available for you in a taxi right? You sit in the back and you only have two. Maybe 2.5 seats. And the vast majority of people that take these type of taxi transits, there's only one to two people. The vast majority of people who are families traveling aren't riding the bus. There are so many options for Transit, but obviously there is a need to replace taxis or we wouldn't even have these rides sharing companies. JS
