This is great to watch. I can't wait to get mine and reflect on the incredible details and sophisticated thinking behind engineering and building in addition to business development and team building. Bravo!!
This is very interesting. If I may though, it seems to me that using a positioning jig for the boiler (instead of taking multiple measurements with a caliper) would be a much more efficient way to assemble (and less error-prone). Build the jig once, speed up assembly and reduce errors.
You're exactly right! In batch 2, the front panel locating tabs will move to the sides and that'll be the perfect groove to have a locating jig for the edge of the boiler. We could also do that on these machines to located relative to the top plate but it's usually not much of an issue.
We actually don't install the piston assembly or accessories before shipping. Our next video will show the QC process which happens just after this stage.
The very definition of a hand-built artisanal machine. Stunning.
From workflow to how a machine is assembled!. I appreciate all the info you give us as consumers.
Thanks for following the journey!

Thanks Dave!
A whole new level of appreciation and admiration! I can’t wait to get mine! Keep up the good work!
Appreciate the support!
Ok, now I see why you don’t sell them as kits 😂 Very cool video Ross! Can’t wait to get mine!
haha yes, exactly! Just wait until the next video on our QC process. It's nothing crazy but all comes down to specific tools required.
Dang, Ross, looks like you've got a lot of this memorized! Love the multipurpose jig, too, that's a great idea
Of all the people, I build the least so I had to reference our build guide papers on my left.
Beautiful machine!

Pretty cool.

Wonder if you couldn't build an alignment jig for the part where you're aligning the boiler with calipers!

but.... you didn't finish?
