Best investment I've made in may Kitchen. Electricity bills are down and I barely use any other devices. Whole chickens are just amazing. I haven't ordered any food since buying it.
Same here bought my ninja fryer i have saved a fortune on food everything cooks and tastes far better....I was reluctant to buy one until I seen more and more videos I cant believe how I foolishly didnt get one a few years back
I know its a year old video, but this is the only one that accurately demonstrates how you can still fit a whole chicken into the smaller (8QT) version. Very helpful video.
Just cooked the two chickens as portrayed on the video and they were delicious! Definitely the best ever. My husband was against buying an air fryer, said it would be a waste of money and would only clutter up the kitchen. He absolutely loved the chicken! Looking forward to more you tube ninja recipes from 1 pizza 2 many. 🥰
HAHAHA so so did my hubby when i suggested it months ago ... then a couple weeks ago he went on FB and so many people were harping on about them and how they save money on electric and they can cook almost anything in them he decided we were to have one. now we eat nothing but airfried everything and slow cooked everything lol. My kitchen hasn't looked this clean in yrs.. no pans only dishes and cutlery to clean up after so dishwasher hasn't been on either as i wash up as i go along lol
MY wife bought one and we cooked chicken fajita meal in tray from Asda 10 minutes including the onions peppers etc the onions were a bit frazzled but we'll add them after about 5 mins the next tims
Wow, I never ever have. I thought to use my Ninja to cook a chicken. So I went for it, done 2 birds, and followed your video. Now I'm a convert chicken will always be done in the Ninja amazing. Thanks
Done this a few times now.. it never fails. This airfryer has literally changed my culinary life.. oven is almost totally redundant now. Thanks for showing this.
This dual fryer was one of the best purchase last year. The oven has become redundant. I now do as much as I can with it. Does lovely roast potatoes, nice and crispy if you bang the heat up to max crisp for the last 8 minutes. The chickens was fantastic.👍🏻😎
@@sx.... depends what you consider small really. They smaller than a regular air fryer but I cooked a 4lb chicken in one. Only way I can say really is were a family of 3 and we can cook for all of us at once with this no problem.
I've just followed this recipe to cook my Sunday dinner, i cooked it at 180° though. Honestly the best roast chicken I've ever had. Juicy & so tasty. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!
I feel the same way myself about buying another counter top appliance that I don’t need. I have all kinds of counter top appliances that’s now taking up the coat closet in my house and I just ordered my Ninja Air Fryer from HSN in a pretty red color and can’t wait for its arrival. Lol
Mrs Spacecake, was it still crispy on the outside at 180 degrees also do you know what weight chicken you cooked please? I think I could cook a chicken one side and roasts potatoes the other 😊
Which Air Fryer do you have? If you have the one shown,I suggest looking at the elements. Drawer baskets are easy to clean, but not the grill elements. Your chicken grease will stick like sh**.
Bought the machine on your recommendation. Cooked the first chicken tonight. Not sure if it's just because it's a Swiss reared chicken, but possibly the best roast I ever did ! 1.2 kg for 60 min, turned the right way up at 30 min. Thanks!
This is my GO TO reminder for my roast chickens & I have told so many others about it. I tried doing the roast chicken on ROAST just to see the difference and your way is without a doubt the best way so thank you again for taking the time to do such good video's
I literally doing this right now with a small chicken on my ninja airfryer, first time trying it and only trying it out because of this video. I can’t wait to taste it once it’s finished
Had the single Ninja air fryer for a few years, just recently bought the dual and it is pretty much all we use to cook in our house, our new kitchen and oven setup has barely been used !! Not tried a whole chicken yet, will have to try this, cheers , looks delish that !!
I'm buying my Ninja 2 drawer this week😊 I've been using Philips airfryers for about 5 years Great Products, I've bought my daughter 2xxl in that time😆 boy do our air fryers get used, they practically replace our big ovens that take up so much time+electricity to heat. I've saved on electricity and don't spend hours cleaning The Oven anymore. I'm looking forward to using my Ninja just as you do, that demo was very impressive😋 Thankyou from a new subscriber in New Zealand🧡

Thanks for your reply. I've been getting some bits for my kitchen one corner is white items and the other corner is black items. Thing's have to look just right. I'm a bit weird like that
Thank you, I have just got my Ninja 300 and thought I couldn’t fit a whole chicken in as the drawers look quite small until I saw your video using the 300.
Bets thing My wife bought ! fed up standing over a cooker with a frying pan spitting at me! what a wonderful cooker subscribed to your channel mate! looking forward to all your cooking!
Not tried the chicken yet but purchased one of these two months ago and has proven to be a real game changer. I don't think we have used the oven once since unboxing the ninja.
TOP TIP ! When you take the birds out, take the trivet out the bottom of the pans, and use them on chopping board, to rest your meat, and remember your air fryer rakes , can be used as cooling racks for anything, if you have the trays for another fryer , take them out and tip upside down, again you now have a airing - cooling racks, i just saved you money on buying cooling racks.
Looks great chef 2 in 1, fantastic chef for a big family dinner, no mess. That cavity crying out for a whole lemon stabbed with a fork and some fresh rosemary stuffed inside, that's what I do with mine in Ninja foodi. 😋
I always add a whole lemon, whole onion and whole garlic-plus half a mug of water to mine(for stock for chicken gravy) in my conventional oven, can I do the same with my 9.5 litre Ninja Foodi dual zone air fryer does anyone know plz? X
I tried this with a 1.5kg Chicken. The packaging said roast for 1 hour 40 mins, but the air frier cooked it in 1 hour flat. It looked dry when it came out, but it wasn't . It was perfect inside. No pre-heating my oven and 40 mins saved on cooking time. Imagine how much electricity I saved! This Ninja will pay for itself. Oh and I just had a Croissant baked at 150C for 5 mins 👍
I would recommend to use silicone utensils instead of metal just to save scratching the non stick coating. I know you were very careful in this video so it wasn’t an issue but I mean for other people thinking of buying one. We bought ours just before Christmas and what a difference it made to the Christmas dinner
Ninja manual says to cook this using the roast feature not air fry mode, and at 170c not 200 like you do here. Not sure how much difference they’ll be so I’m trying both methods.
I appreciate the video, because I’m trying to decide whether to purchase one of these. However I have never seen a chef not clean the feather shafts out of their chickens before cooking, especially if they plan to eat the skin. Surprised me. But it does look delicious and has me leaning toward buying. Thank you!
Thanks for taking the time to comment. If you tried to take all of the feather shafts out then you would end up riping the skin too much and you need the skin to protect it when air frying. 👍🏻😃 Good luck with your upcoming purchase.
Trying to decide too. Wish he would've cut open each part to the chicken and shown a close up on camera. Would've liked to know 8f it cooked the chicken thoroughly. Nice vid though.
Just got to say watching this vid made us finally pull the trigger on one. Bought a 1.5kg chicken from Aldi and 1.6kg from Sainsbury both fitted fine and literally cooked as described here. The best chicken we have ever cooked.. by miles. edit: amended chicken weights.. wife spotted error :( correct now :)
I absolutely love my Ninja dual basket air fryer! I cook pretty much everything in it! Steak, chicken, Pork, veggies, even cookies! Main meal in one side and a side dish in the other. It's fantastic and cleanup is SO easy! if you are on the fence about getting one, GET ONE. If you don't like it just clean it up and return it to the store for a refund so you have nothing to lose. But you won't! You'll love it! Mine came with a recipe booklet and a helpful starter chart for quick things to help you try it out.
Hey! I just got one to try out alongside a Casori one. I wanted to know about this one, are the cooking times elongated when using both baskets? Like if chicken takes 18 min, and you want to do veggies in the other basket, will the chicken or veggies take longer because the other basket is also in use?
@@balancewithbabies1224 no both baskets have there own timer and temp control and then it will hold say the veggies in tray 2 untill the chicken timer counts to the same time then basket 2 will start so both are ready at the same time.
Bigest bonus of this ninja airfryer is zero pong in the kitchen even cooking fish the stink is near nill , which means your kitchen stays cleaner than an ordinary oven , good practice just when you take out whatever you have cooked is washing up fairy plus two inch s of hot water then after you have eaten everything, it takes two mins each drawer to clean up its so easy. Not sure why you demo cooks think its a good idea to use metal forks and tongs but dont , long term you will damage the drawer finish however careful you are it only needs one x scratch.
I've had mine about 6 months now and honestly it's the best thing I've ever bought for the kitchen. My main oven only goes on for pizza and fresh loaves now.
Thanks for the video. Only one suggestion - do NOT use the fork to lift out the chicken half way through cooking as this punctures the skin and lets all the juices out. Best to use the tongs you had. More fiddly, but keeps the bird as moist as possible.
Ok. Couple of things I found. I brined the chicken for about 4 hrs yesterday in 4 pints water, half a cup of salt and half a cup of sugar, thyme, peppercorns and bay leaves. Before I put the chicken in the fryer on air fry I dried it thoroughly with kitchen paper. I put the bird into the air fryer from the fridge. Next time I think I will leave it for 30 minutes or so before cooking it so that the meat is not cold. 400 deg c was a little too hot. My bird was marginally larger than yours although it fitted nicely into the fryer pan. I started it on 400f (my fryer is from the other side of the pond) but noticed after 15 minutes or so that it was cooking a touch too quickly, so I reduced the temperature to 390f (which is the default setting) and turned the bird over. I left it for another 20 minutes to finish and it looked and smelled amazing. The internal temperature was up at 173c but it didn’t look overcooked or dry. I think the brining was my saviour here. The breast meat was juicy and succulent. I didn’t think I would be brave enough to try a whole chicken, but honestly I appreciate your tutorial because it gave me the courage to give it a go. I will be more active with my instant read thermometer next time (the phone went on me) but honestly I give this a thumbs up. Great machine. Deserves the high ratings it gets. I would have liked to see you carve the breast meat though for your results. Thanks again.
Wow sounds like a great success then 😁. Yes I thought after I should have carved some of the breast meat off. 😃👍🏻 Here's to your new found Ninja confidence 😍
Thanks for watching 😀 yes I bought some oak kitchen worktop off cuts off Facebook market place and had a friend trim and sand them up and a family member then Lazer etched the design.
Many thanks for watching and your comment 😁 I would say the two draws allow to cook two different items at the same time, also to sync or match the times of the draws is a great feature.
I bought two frozen Cornish Hens yesterday awaiting for my Ninja two drawer air fryer to arrive from HSN and it’s a pretty Red! Now I know to start them breast down, thanks.
Should have done one chicken breast side down and the other breast side up and compare. Also I don't look at fat as being bad, I see it as an excellent gravy opportunity.
I would have liked to seen you check the internal temp of the chicken with a thermometer . All questions would be put to rest. And it's just good practice anyways. Thanks for the great video.
Only recently just bought an air fryer and going to cook a whole chicken this weekend and was wondering shel I rub some oil with the salt over the chicken before I put the Chicken in the air fryer? Thanks for the fantastic videos always very helpful.😝

Yes I thought after I should have carved some of the breast meat off. 😃👍🏻
Here's to your new found Ninja confidence 😍
Just found your channel absolutely brilliant.
Cheers, thanks Stephen 🙂👍
Would've liked to see other parts of the chicken cut open and shown to the camera close up to see how well it cooked. Juicy. Etc. Nice video though.
Thanks 😊👍🏻 will bear that in mind for future videos, thanks again for watching and taking the time to comment, much appreciated. 😊
@@1Pizza2Many thank you for your video. After seeing it I'm getting mine right now.
Great video chef. Can you tell me where you got your chopping board? Many thanks.
Thanks for watching 😀 yes I bought some oak kitchen worktop off cuts off Facebook market place and had a friend trim and sand them up and a family member then Lazer etched the design.
@1Pizza2Many that's superb, thanks for getting back to me. I'll check the market place out. All the best.
Appreciate the insight on using the device but it’s getting old hearing people still contend that “fat is unhealthy.”
Thanks, very easy an delicious recipe 👍
Great video 👌...in your opinion... What's the advantages of the 2 smaller drawers versus a single large container and what are the disadvantages?
Many thanks for watching and your comment 😁 I would say the two draws allow to cook two different items at the same time, also to sync or match the times of the draws is a great feature.
They should do a single large tray as an accessory
My wife likes fish, I like steak. Best of both worlds......
I bought two frozen Cornish Hens yesterday awaiting for my Ninja two drawer air fryer to arrive from HSN and it’s a pretty Red! Now I know to start them breast down, thanks.
Has anyone tried to make a small pizza in this air fryer ? would it work.
Not yet 😃 I have done on air fry using the ninja grill though and worked great.
have you ever done a videio of a pork shoulder joint in the Airfryer as would love to see one using the Ninja
No, I've done one on the Kamado BBQ but not in the Ninja. I'll add it to my list of possible future videos though. Thanks for watching. 😊👍
Should have done one chicken breast side down and the other breast side up and compare. Also I don't look at fat as being bad, I see it as an excellent gravy opportunity.
Yep good shout! 😊👍
ummm they were flipped after 30 mins
Just tried this! - wow it looked amazing! Thank you
Handling raw chicken and then touching all handles and buttons without washing your hands is a bit dangerous. Otherwise good video.
Cheers. Yep agree. As soon as i stopped filming that section I sanitised the buttons etc. I should have made that clearer in the video. ☺️👍
Is this a 300 or 400 Ninja model?
300
Great vid 👍
When will the world wake up and realize that fats are good.
Good for flavour, not for the arteries. 🙂👍
@@1Pizza2Many fat does not clog arteries. Fact and proven
Chuck some mayo on your cornflakes, Kevin. It's good for you.
@@joshpickles9022 mayo is 99% seed oils
Im pondering on getting one, i like the way you demonstrated it. Small chicks though , its still worth purchasing one though. Thanks 👍
Yep very easy to use, chickens are average size for a UK supermarket.
200 is too high to ensure that the birds are cooked all the way through. The safer way is to reduce the temperature and increase the cook time.
No 200 is honestly fine. As long as the internal temp is over 75 degrees you are all good.
180 is the recommended temperature for whole birds and 170 for breast.
I would have liked to seen you check the internal temp of the chicken with a thermometer . All questions would be put to rest. And it's just good practice anyways. Thanks for the great video.
Yes I'll definitely do that going forward. Many thanks.
Only recently just bought an air fryer and going to cook a whole chicken this weekend and was wondering shel I rub some oil with the salt over the chicken before I put the Chicken in the air fryer? Thanks for the fantastic videos always very helpful.😝
Hahaha you make me laugh dude. Ace content. Mums buying me one as a new house present. Psyched for one for my own roast chicken 🐔 !!!
Congratulations with the new house 🏠😊😊💪👍
Yuk chicken isn't cleaned... full of feathers
Are you able to cook a whole chicken from frozen ??
hey cuzz grate video , what brand is that roasting fork? need that
Thank you. Just bought one. Great video and much better than reading written instructions
Great video mate, thanks! Simple and no mucking about. Great demo. Just got the beast that is the 9.5l model and I’ll be giving this a crack over the weekend.
Cheers thanks Billy Bob 😊👍
Why would you not use the roast setting for the chickens ?
HI great video. Can you tell me what size is this oven? thanks
Cheers, it's the 300UK model and 7.5lt capacity
@@1Pizza2Many Thanks👍🏼
my dad bought one of the first airfryers years ago he raved about it , i was like its rubbish , one day last year i was at my dads and cooked some very cheap frozen chips in it i was amazed at the result, got myself a airfryer now my cooker is in retirement i cook everything in it done the whole chicken so easy faster better than the oven , cleaning is easy
Sounds like your dad was one step ahead of the trend 🙂👍
@@1Pizza2Many he is 86 but thinks he is 26 he always has to have the latest gadget lol
@@carolineplant5510 haha 86 and an air fryer trail blazer 🤣👍🙂
I had a smaller ninja round basket type. The Ninja Dual went on sale for $120 off, so I asked him if we could sell the old one and get this one. We did and we love it. I'm going to do chickens up today!
Awesome 😎👍
We're you able to fit a whole chicken in the smaller ninja dual?
Yes a whole chicken fits, this is the smaller one in the video 😊👍
😮 thank you so much l am new to your channel and new to ninja cooking l am definitely going to follow you and your channel just done the chicken same way but as l am Jamaica l have used difference and more seasoning but please do show more. 😊 And thank you so much 😌 l had alot of ninja equipment including the blender as well as the Deuel air fryer love it 💕

Great video! 👏🏽
Thanks 🙂👍
Great video. I'm gearing up mine now...
Mine could have used another few minutes, but is was crispy and tasty and very little cleanup. Will definitely be doing it more often
What size is the air fryer please
7.5lt
Excellent video with beautiful demonstration and presentation !
I followed your instruction fully and the roast chicken and potatoes dinner was so perfect and delicious ! The best roast chicken dinner we ever had in our new Ninja foodi max 400 , 9.5L Air fryer. I could not cook in my Philips AF whole chicken roast before , cooked in Instant Pot Duo Crisp instead. I love my Ninja Max 400 Air fryer !
Thank you so much for your very helpful video !!!
Regards !
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such a nice comment 😊👍
awesome results.
I've been a chef for over 40 years now and we are getting one for home now
OK so maybe you can tell me why this is necessary when you have a jolly good stove and ovens?
@@paulsawtell3991 it's not necessarily like any type kitchen appliance it's a convenience, people don't really need a food processor or blender either. I guessing you still chop wood for your stove?
😂😂😂
I have the single drawer model and a 1.5kg chicken to cook.
How long will it take on 200 and should I turn it halfway through please?
Yes turn half way. 50-60 mins total.
Have you got the larger ninja machine
Hi Claire, yes I have the larger one too 🙂👍
