This Patriquin arrangement is notorious for its difficult piano part. The pianist's name absolutely should have been mentioned in the information box.

I’m here because my all women’s choir is going to be singing it, I’m not the director I’m in the choir. Good to know that my voice will be murdered
My friends had to sing it in their choir a while ago, and now our choir is learning it right now. We’ve sung pretty difficult songs before, like A New Psalm which is a Jewish song. It was a super fast song with beautiful solos and crazy range of volume, from singing extremely loud to nearly silent. It was very challenging to learn, but it was so fun. I can’t wait until we preform this in my choir! 😁

I am French Canadian, and I am very, very impressed by the pronunciation!!! I would think coming from Utah you wouldn't have much of a French background, so I say Bravo!!!!

The altos are so quiet. It’s hard being an alto because one we have hard notes in this song but also because altos are extremely hard to bear in recordings

No, it's really not. In my 6 years of choir, this is the most complicated song I have EVER performed. It's very fun, though. Sure, you may 'Know it" but do you really? I've spent months polishing this and I'm performing it for the first time on Wednesday. :)
Also, I'm sure several of you DO have larger choirs. Mine however, is very small, even smaller than this one.

Man. This song. Takes me back to senior year when we sung it for UIL and it was everyone's favorite. We were the only choir in the district who could sing it.
J'entends is a difficult song. Not only is it pretty fast with lots of places where it's easy to trip up and loose your place in the music but unless you get the balance right all you can hear is the parts where you imitate a mill wheel.
I remember listening to this senior year while practicing and thinking that they were the most talented choir I had ever heard. Now I can hear places where things should be tweaked but still, great balance and timing.
10/10 would reminisce again.
Same happened to us this year and it's my senior year as well. Our choir has always been looked down because it's a beginner choir until we performed this song for UIL. I fell in love with the song. I'm so happy to know others have went through the same joy.

i sang this song last year in 11th grade and tbh it was so hard to learn but i felt even worse for the pianist lol... you have to be hella talented to play the piano to that song. i thought it was fun at first because our director would see how fast we could sing it but it got old after rehearsing it so much and i got bored. this song gives me ptsd

Performed this one recently. Extremely hard to grasp, but easy to master once you get the hang of every moving part. Cheers. Kudos to our own pianist for executing the same thing as well.

The only flaw is that when you speak French, you don't hear a very strong "t", it's typically more of a lazy "t", almost a "d". Throughout the song you can hear VERY strong "t"'s.

i'm learning this song and believe me, if ur not french is very hard to go for the proper pronouciation
French-Canadian here :-) Québec Ts are tricky : before the letters I and U they are almost dental. "Tique" will thus be be pronounced "Tsi-ke". Before A, O or U, the T is not dental and closer to standard French. The diction in this video is pretty good. My main correction would be the colour of the A vowel in "taque", which they pronounce like the word "talk". It should much brighter, like "tack". That being said, what an amazing performance! And the arrangement by Patriquin is awesome.
Our choir sang this three times this year, I loved every minute of it.
The alto part is definitely the hardest. :( I'm in pretty much the same situation. ALTO POWER!
Just did this song a few months ago. Last UIL song in my 5 years of choir. By far the most difficult, but an absolute blast once we all got it down.
The Chorale at my school sang this for assessment, and I love this so much. Especially the piano!

My cousin and I go to the same school and her Junior Varsity Girl's choir performed this song right before my Varsity Women and I performed She Weeps Over Rahoon. Although very few people people here care, my school's choir is doing amazingly well thanks to our fantastic (also psychotic and lowkey mentally disturbed) instructor, who I wouldn't replace even if it meant my life. We're singing high school and college level songs in 7th (my cousin) and 8th (me) grade, pulling all ones from UIL, and I am so proud of us. I'm no longer in that Varsity choir now that I'm put of 8th grade so my cousin still has our instructor while I don't, but I'm off to high school where their instructor is my old one's friend. We will continue to excel and I can't wait.
