Henk Poort is a great dutch opera/musical star.
He played the Fantom for over 600 shows.
And Henk was Andrew Lloyd Webbers (writer/componist) favorite fantom.
So is he famous.....

When Floor asked Henk, a childhood hero of her' to do this duet, his only condition was, that they would do this with Nightwish together when they were coming to The Netherlands next. In 2020 it was scheduled to come true, but due to the Covid situation it happened in 2022 in Amsterdam. The crowd at the 2 concerts were unaware that Nightwish would do Phantom, so that was a nice surprise. The other participants in this 2019 season were: Samantha Steenwijk and Emma Heesters (red dress); Ruben Annink and Tim Akkerman (Ramones shirt) and Rolf Sanchez next to the presenter of the show Jan Smit. Fun fact: 'Beste Zangers' has a double meaning in Dutch. Indeed it is 'Best Singers', but also 'Dear Singers' as in an introduction.
This went viral on TH-cam in those years. One of the biggest hits on TH-cam.
Not Davina Michelle but Emma Heesters a TH-cam cover artiste with just under 6 million subscribers. Henk is a trained opera singer and had never sung with distortion until he sang Sound of Silence for Floor on this show.

Henk is well known for his opera and musical theater performances, not by any song in the charts. Because this show he got better known which did help him with the by then upcoming theater tour he scheduled. The best reacted performance of him from this show is the sound of silence.
Floor Jansen had Opera scholing. And Henk Poort was also the reason for that. Rock Academie at Tilburg, the Netherlands.
Henk is a famous Dutch operatic singer. He was cast in the role of The Phantom in the Dutch production. He was a few years younger of course. Check out his performance of Sound of Silence from this show.

You pronounced Poort correct, the second option. In " joost" we Dutch can say an open "oo", because there is an " s" behind the "oo"..
Therefore the "oo" can be pronounced easier.
With an "r" behind the " oo", as in the names Poort and Floor, the "oo" sound gets automatically a bit different. Not that open..as in Joost. Its a language law thing. My compliments you noticed it!
The best version ever , even better then when Hank sang it with Floor n Nightwish , Nighwish`s best version is from 2005 with Tarja n Marko .
