Henk Poort is Dutch Phantom, Floor is literally fangirling the whole time on stage with him. Was such a vibe seeing this. Also too when Henk went with them in concert, he's wearing a Nightwish tshirt and he became part of the band honorarily.
Hank Poort did play the Phantom in Dutch a lot of Times. Floor was always inspired by Hank and when she had the Chance to Perform with one of the other Singers on there at the End. She had to choose Hank und do Phantom of the Opera. But that Growl and raspyness he added in there, holy cow. Been a Nightwish Fan since i can think but Floor always surprises me everytime i hear her, specialy on Live Concerts. Btw, if you dont have seen it yet. Check our Floors take on Euphoria on beste Zangers. Its not Live, because she had a surgery for Kidney stones. So Beste Zangers reached out to her if she could record and send something in. And she did go overboard while still recovering.
This one is amazing as Floor was blowing away the Dutch audience. For me there is only one better version: Floor and Henk with Nightwish, November 28th 2022 Ziggo Dome Amsterdam, official live version❤
The Dutch TV show "Beste Zangers" (Dear/Best singers) is not a competition but a program in which 7? singers are invited to come to a vacation resort for 10 days without family or managers to bond with each other. Six months prior they are given lists of all the other particpants of songs that were important for the other participants. The show gets very emotional at times (they all have issues) and the 2019 version can be seen on YT entirely with English subtitles. When Floor was asked for the show, she initially did not want to do it, but when she heard that Henk Poort was in it too, she immediately said YES! Floor has adored Henk since her teens for his singing ability (Henk was the Dutch phantom of the opera). Floor called this a highpoint in her career afterwards. Floor asked Henk if he would do the Phantom in the last episode of the show. He agreed and only asked if he could perfom it with Nightwish if Nightwish came ot the Netherlands. Floor agreed. COVID came, so it was only done recently in the Ziggo dome. Floor puts up a notch even further in that version! Henk had never performed gritty voice as he is an opera/musical theatre singer. He only did that for the first time in the Beste Zangers show to honour Floor her metal background. Speaking of background, Floor and Henk never met before the show. Henk did not even know Floor. They rehearsed this five times to bring the band up to the metallic music and Henk never practiced his gritty voice. That was genuinly a surprise for Floor as you can see.
Henk Poort is the Dutch Phantom, he's owned this role for a LONG time in Europe. The band took some direction from the Nightwish version. Floor only joined this show to sing this song with Henk, which is a childhood idol of hers. In return this show was the FIRST time ever sang with distortion (as it goes against his operatic training). He also requested, and she agreed to sing this live with Nighwish after the show. While Floor is a HUGE success as this point through Europe in the metal word, she's hardly known in her home country, until this show!~
All the performances are epic in this show. I especially recommend Emma and Henk singing "Vivo Per Lei", and Floor singing "Winner" Emma singing "Strong" to Floor is also pretty magical, as long as you don't mind seeing Floor cry.
I don't react often I am Dutch Henk was the phantom for many years in the Netherlands but also in Germany and other Europeaan countrys Andrew Loyd Webber The composer of the song once told in a intervieuw that Henk was his favorite phantom The best of all Flore adores him and her biggest wish was to sing this song with Henk For your info this Greetings

Fun fact, they rehearsed this together without the distortion and than Henk surprised Floor with singing it with distortion without her knowing it. Because they made a metal version in honor of Floor and Nightwish. By the way he is classically trained and did opera and later turned to musicals where he also played the Phantom.
The one thing that bugs me about this version is that they get some of the lyrics switched up, and it takes them a couple years before they notice and fix it, lol.
from wikipedia "Henk Poort is a Dutch singer born in 1956. Poort's major roles include Erik (the Phantom) in the Dutch version of The Phantom of the Opera and Jean Valjean in the first staging of the Dutch version of Les Misérables in the late 1990s. He also sang as one of the "17 Valjeans" at Les Misérables: The Dream Cast in Concert. His most recent role was Tevye in Anatevka. Beyond musicals and opera, he provided the voice of Gaston on the Dutch version of Disney's animation film Beauty and the Beast. In 2019 Nightwish vocalist Floor Jansen performed Phantom of the Opera with Poort for the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers. The performance has attracted over 20 million viewers on TH-cam so far (as of January 2023).[2] Their performance was so well received that Nightwish revived their cover of the song live on stage for the first time in 17 years featuring Mr. Poort as a guest vocalist. The show in Amsterdam on November 28, 2022, was filmed for a future DVD release"
Henk is Opera singer. The fact that he's using distortions means he's breaking his own rule and expanding beyond outside the box. That's sign of great artist.
Yes, you did it! I've been lucky enough to see Floor and Henk perform this live twice, once at Floor's solo show (about a month before covid hit the Netherlands) and once at the Nightwish concert last year (they recorded that, it's at the Nightwish channel). It's even more magical live. When Henk came on stage during the Nightwish concert everyone went crazy, it was awesome! Beste Zangers is a show where Dutch singers go on a 'holiday' together, and every evening they perform for each other. One singer is the highlight of the episode and the others each sing a song for him or her. That could be their biggest hit, a song with emotional value, their favorite artist, etc. The last episode of the season is the 'duet' episode, where everyone picks someone to sing a duet with. Henk is a musical star and the Dutch Phantom, which is why Floor made the connection. Nightwish had a great version of the song when Tarja was still a part of the band, but hadn't played it at all since she left. When Floor asked Henk if he was willing to sing with her, he said "only if you invite me to sing it with Nightwish when you guys come to the Netherlands". And so they did, for the first time since 2005. I was so lucky to be there! If you like Henk, two performances from the show which are really worth it are "Vivo Per Lei" with Emma Heesters (the blonde in the red dress) and "The Sound of Silence" (the Disturbed version)
Great reaction. After this show, in 2020, Floor did a solo tour in the Netherlands and performed 2 more duets with Henk Poort, Sweet Curse, a song she wrote for a previous band and Dangerous Game from the Jekyll and Hyde Musical. Both are on Floor's TH-cam channel
The entire Beste Zangers (from 2019) is a wild ride. My favourite by far in this show was Emma. U have more about Henk aswell in the same show. He really nailed it. No just with the singing, he is fun as fck to watch! Now, changing gentes, please, Ankor! U gonna love the band!
Floor's high note in the end is for real, a bit lower D6 than the original, but live with a microphone in the hand. The original one, E6 on Broadway, is prerecorded and a layover. Her build up to the high note where she gently play with her voice you never hear ourher do, Floor is amazing!
When this video dropped, it broke the internet. This was the final song in a whole season of remarkable performances by that little group of musicians you see sitting around the table.
Now that you're down the rabbit hole, it's time to add a few more symphonic metal bands (But don't forget Nightwish and Epica, because there's still so much more to them): Within Temptation: Angels (Live Black Symphony) - th-cam.com/video/m5fMRcFjBHc/w-d-xo.html Within Temptation: Mother Earth (Live): th-cam.com/video/hJXdk4mKM9M/w-d-xo.html Within Temptation: Somewhere (Live feat. George Oosthoek) - th-cam.com/video/hJXdk4mKM9M/w-d-xo.html The Gathering are pretty much the originator / influence for the symphonic metal genre with their vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen, although they're not really symphonic metal, but they set the elements in motion (Credit for the specific genre could got to Tristania, Within Temptation and Nightwish, probably -- although Anneke was an influence for at least WIthin Temptation and Nightwish vocalists). Anyway... The Gathering - Strange Machines (Live 1996): th-cam.com/video/1HUMwinV2AQ/w-d-xo.html The Gathering -Travel (live TG25): th-cam.com/video/Y46Lft_BZxo/w-d-xo.html
And now you should check out Tommy Johanssons version, he does both roles. He releases a new cover every Friday and are also guitarist in Sabaton. Here you have a link to his version th-cam.com/video/QgyR-gjcNbk/w-d-xo.html
Something to know about this show. These are all awards winning singers, some of the best in their respective genres. All Dutch born. So to see that panel of talent this impressed is praise on its own... If you want to see more from Henk I would recommend some of his solo clips from this show
That show is fantastic. In the very first episode Floor sings for Henk and performs the aria Vilja Lied, IN GERMAN, and blows it away! Oh and it's pretty rock-y while staying true to its origins
Great réaction ❤❤jeje you must see the version of phantom of the opera of Nigthwish with Tarja and Markko, it's Wonderfull, regards from Bogotá - Colombia
Andrew Lloyd Weber has said that Henk Poort was his favorite portrayal of The Phantom, so that would be why he's so good here. There are metal vibes because they're playing Nightwish's cover of the song. Nightwish is a symphonic metal band (fronted by Floor).
And the slight metal vibes are there because this was based on Nightwish version of the song, which of course was very much metal. Henk Poort has been Phantom in the actual musical, but Marko is by far the most menacing phantom ever.
Nothing to add to your video and the reactions posted. The only comment can add is that it is a shame that the light on your beautiful face often reflects in your glasses. Thank you for your appreciative reaction to a wonderful performance!
Henk Poort is a legendary theater and musical star in the Netherlands and played the phantom many times in the dutch version of the musical. He was one of Floor's music heroes when she grew up! They met each other for the TV show "Beste Zangers" and performed Phantom and some other songs together. Imagine how she must be excited performing with her idol! And just for her, he sang a part of Phantom with a more raspy voice, which was normally a no-go for him. They had such a good chemistry that Floor asked him to perform as guest with Nightwish on their tour in the Netherlands, which he agreed. Nightwish released Phantom in 1999 on their album "Century Child", with their first singer Tarja Turunen, who is also a classicl trained singer. Listen to their live performance 2005 with Marco as phantom, it's also a phenomenal performace!
THESE are 2 of the best right here.... Welcome to these guys. this one performance made me watch this entire show. Hank is THE PHANTOM of all Phantoms! This is his thing!
I always talk about Floor she is awesome. But I keep coming back here to watch your reaction videos that being said you Girl are AWESOME as well.............😁😁😁😁😁😁
You should go to Floor's own channel and listen (and react!!?) to a song she did with Henk Poort in COVID isolation: A Dangerous game (it's a song from the Jekyll and Hyde musical) The song rendition between these 2 is ridiculously powerful! If you liked Phantom of the Opera you will like "A dangerous game" too!! 🙂
Emma (the one in the red dress) and Henk a sing a surprisingly beautiful duet of "Vivo Per Lei". it was on the same night and was one of the highlights of the evening. _Highly recommended!_
You should check out Henk and Floor doing "Dangerous Game“ from Jekyll and Hyde the musical. During lockdown they did it digitally for Floor’s channel, but there’s also a video of them doing it live at one of Henk‘s solo shows.
Uncle Henk has entered the building ;) He was/is the original Phantom in the Dutch stage production and several performances in London as well i might add, and... he is one of the favorite Phantoms of Andrew Lloyd Webber himself. So yeah, Uncle Henk has a thing or two to bring to the table in this performance hehehe, also, against his background "etiquette" he learned to use distorted voice just for Floor, a skill he did not have because it is frowned upon in the musical theater world, almost as if it's an illegal skill. But Uncle Henk being the awesome and wholesome man he is (he really is), he's all about quality in music, regardless of style, genre or anything, he has an open mind in music. And Floor was/is a huge fan of Henk, prior to them meeting she too fell for him when she first saw him perform the Phantom with Joke de Kruijf (the Dutch Christine in the production) many many years ago. In this show it is customary to end the season with duets of the singer's choice, Floor wanted nothing more than to perform "The Phantom" with her youth idol, Henk Poort, so she asked him pretty please can we do that song? And Uncle Henk being awesome, said "Sure, but only if next time your band visits the Netherlands, we perform the song together with the band", Floor instantly replied with "Yes!! ofc!!". She was a little naughty because she forgot to ask the band if it's ok, the song wasn't on the setlist anymore for a few good reasons, but i guess when the band saw the performance.. it was a done deal. So yes... you can also react to.. Floor and Henk with Nightwish performing this live in concert, they uploaded it to their channel and it is equally amazing. (altho not this intimate ofc) Check out that one as well please :D
Henk is the Dutch Phantom!! Also this is the Nightwish arrangement of 'Phantom of The Opera', so he had to learn their variant of the song to sing with Floor... after Shallow, I think its fair to say he fell in love with Floor ;_;

The performance has attracted over 20 million viewers on TH-cam so far (as of January 2023).[2]
Their performance was so well received that Nightwish revived their cover of the song live on stage for the first time in 17 years featuring Mr. Poort as a guest vocalist. The show in Amsterdam on November 28, 2022, was filmed for a future DVD release"
Henk is Opera singer. The fact that he's using distortions means he's breaking his own rule and expanding beyond outside the box. That's sign of great artist.
When Floor sings I cry ............ once again and Henk port has played the Phantom for real on stage .........
This is an amazing performance! ❤❤❤
In spirit of your own words:
Rachel, don’t stay calm. Love your reactions, life is great, just continue your ride.
After this performance, please watch the same show, and then this time Henk Poort only with The Sound of Silence. He is killing it also ....
Henk joined stage with Nightwish live in Amsterdam on 27 and 28 nov -2022... you can find that one too with the full Nightwish band.
When this video dropped, it broke the internet. This was the final song in a whole season of remarkable performances by that little group of musicians you see sitting around the table.
Great reaction, Thank you 👏🙏🤩.
Henk Poort was the Phantom in the Netherlands production of PotO.
Now that you're down the rabbit hole, it's time to add a few more symphonic metal bands (But don't forget Nightwish and Epica, because there's still so much more to them):
Within Temptation: Angels (Live Black Symphony) - th-cam.com/video/m5fMRcFjBHc/w-d-xo.html
Within Temptation: Mother Earth (Live): th-cam.com/video/hJXdk4mKM9M/w-d-xo.html
Within Temptation: Somewhere (Live feat. Anneke Van Giersbergen) - th-cam.com/video/ScjEJRIZGvg/w-d-xo.html
Within Temptation: The Other Half (of Me) (feat. George Oosthoek) - th-cam.com/video/hJXdk4mKM9M/w-d-xo.html
The Gathering are pretty much the originator / influence for the symphonic metal genre with their vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen, although they're not really symphonic metal, but they set the elements in motion (Credit for the specific genre could got to Tristania, Within Temptation and Nightwish, probably -- although Anneke was an influence for at least WIthin Temptation and Nightwish vocalists). Anyway...
The Gathering - Strange Machines (Live 1996): th-cam.com/video/1HUMwinV2AQ/w-d-xo.html
The Gathering -Travel (live TG25): th-cam.com/video/Y46Lft_BZxo/w-d-xo.html
Henk played the Phantom in the Dutch production of the Phantom (for about 20 years)....ALW called Henk his favorite in that role
Music is music, vocals are vocals, but just give me one kiss and I can die.
You should have watched the entire season, this was the last song on the last evening, and the crown on the show.
Great reaction :) And never stop smiling - your joy and smile is lovely
And now you should check out Tommy Johanssons version, he does both roles. He releases a new cover every Friday and are also guitarist in Sabaton. Here you have a link to his version th-cam.com/video/QgyR-gjcNbk/w-d-xo.html
Something to know about this show. These are all awards winning singers, some of the best in their respective genres. All Dutch born. So to see that panel of talent this impressed is praise on its own...
If you want to see more from Henk I would recommend some of his solo clips from this show
The site is Beste Zangers(best singers) 2019
Wait…wait..wait…wait…Wait…wait..wait…wait…Wait…wait..wait…wait…(loved that😀👍)…you’re going to lose your mind when you see this😉
A legendary Dutch 3 minutes of sound joy! My country is proud of their own singers.
Loved this reaction! Continue on the Floor/Nightwish-journey and I will continue subsribing😁
Fantastic performs theirs and your reaction.
If you love Phantom of the opera you need check Nightwish version Marko vs Tarja 🤟😁💙💛
That show is fantastic. In the very first episode Floor sings for Henk and performs the aria Vilja Lied, IN GERMAN, and blows it away! Oh and it's pretty rock-y while staying true to its origins
Now you still have the experience of the original Nightwish version featuring Tarja Turunen
and Marko Hietali. Marko stole it. You'll see.
Henk played the Phantom in the Dutch version. The 'metal vibe' is a tribute to the Nightwish version (then with original singer Tarja)
You are so cute with your reactions.
Henk played the Phantom in the past. Floor is his biggest fan.
Before this performance Henk Poort has never used harsh vocals singing.. Originally he's a Musical/classical singer.
It really rocked!
Oh It's not over... With Floor and Nightwish it just gets better! 😁😁
This is the Nightwish version of the song Nightwish did this with Taria. You can watch it on the end of an era DVD from 2005. On TH-cam
Machine + Monster + Angel = Floor Jansen ♥️
Great réaction ❤❤jeje you must see the version of phantom of the opera of Nigthwish with Tarja and Markko, it's Wonderfull, regards from Bogotá - Colombia
Definitely a must! She has to hear Marko.
It's not over yet, time to view the live Nightwish version, featuring Henk.
Nightwish version with Tarja and Marko is highly recommended to watch next!
You remind me of Rebecca vocal athlete
who also sings and reacts to songs ❤️👍🥁🇬🇧❤️
Can it? Can it be done more exciting? Don't think it can. The bar is set so high with their
phenomenal performance.
You said his name perfectly correct! ❤
When they performed this is BROKE THE INTERNET also hahaha
I always talk about Floor she is awesome. But I keep coming back here to watch your reaction videos that being said you Girl are AWESOME as well.............😁😁😁😁😁😁
I like that this version had a metal flare to it. Which is so fitting for Floor. Rachel your excitement was fun and adorable.
This is not a duet! It is a duel!
Henk is said to be Andrew Lloyd Webber's favourite Phantom
Hi Rachel, greetings from UK
I just lurve your reactions 😁
Eagerly awaiting the next one 🙂
You should go to Floor's own channel and listen (and react!!?) to a song she did with Henk Poort in COVID isolation: A Dangerous game (it's a song from the Jekyll and Hyde musical) The song rendition between these 2 is ridiculously powerful! If you liked Phantom of the Opera you will like "A dangerous game" too!! 🙂
Saw the musical in Yokohama Japan last weekend!!!
Uncle Henk has entered the building ;)
He was/is the original Phantom in the Dutch stage production and several performances in London as well i might add, and... he is one of the favorite Phantoms of Andrew Lloyd Webber himself.
(altho not this intimate ofc)
Check out that one as well please :D
Henk is the Dutch Phantom!! Also this is the Nightwish arrangement of 'Phantom of The Opera', so he had to learn their variant of the song to sing with Floor... after Shallow, I think its fair to say he fell in love with Floor ;_;
thank you so very much for choosing me as a winner, but I would rather the thoughtful prize go to a more deserving home. Keep up with what you're doing, and I'll be right there along the way. My e-mail is in my Bio if you really want to talk. Have a GREAT Day!
BY THE POWER OF FLOOR !!!
Have I told you how awesome you are lately? You. Are. Fricking. Awesome. Luv ya Ray 😊
poort is also seen in the finals of the 10th anniversery of Las Miserable...just wanted to let you know
You are just at the beginning of a very long and joyful journey. Nightwish and Floor... nothing but net with each performance.
