Finally. A video that explains how the power steering knows which wat to push. I suspect that the videos 'explaing power steering' i've seen before just didn't know this.
Great Introduction to the Rotary Valve. Excellent visual imagery starting at 1:14 of the Torsion Bar. What an amazing invention. Increased resistance from the tires (for example while parking) actually makes the power steering increase 🤓
And this is why Electric power steering is more efficient. Power assist is only provided when necessary and no engine power is used to constantly turn a pump to feed the rack. Even tho the pump may not be providing maximum pressure it still utilizing a small amount of energy to turn it when the engine is running
no any word about hydro pipes: i had to replace it because of rust and went to shop where make it, they have to open pipes to see parts., they can not just take piece of pipe and make ends.
So what happens to accommodate the resistance at the road surface? The torsion bar is able to flex and therefore is still able to turn to provide the system with the inut to provide more pressure to one side or the other?
Finally, a proper video that explains how power steering works! Thanks for this higher quality video.

3:03 the most crucial part in understanding how the pressure is directed to assist the steering.

An actually high quality video on hydraulic steering.

Good explanation and diagrams!
Nice explanation of hydraulic steering. Thanks for sharing.
Finally, after all these years i finally understand how this works ! :)
same here👌
Jesus christ...best explanation...better than modern youtubers🙌
Excellent explanation!
سلام سپاس وهزاران 👍....ممنون
لطفا ویدیوها را ادامه بدین بسیار عالی هستند...ممنونم

Need better explanation how hydraulic force got forming to the direction intended by turning the wheel. Or keep at middle position.
This was really cool
Thank you very much! Keep it up
Thanks

Yes
The video defines how the system works very well. If you want to get picky, why not ask about toe, camber and caster of the wheels too?
Need better explanation
