280 feet below sea level and you didn't even get wet. I gotta say Dustin that living vicariously through your adventures is beyond fun. It's your easy smile, positive outlook and general attitude that makes me look forward to the next episode. Thank you.
You just zig zaged through where I grew up! Trona in the Searles Valley in the heart of the Mojave Desert! I knew the man who owned the General Store in Balarat near Stove Pipe Wells! He passed of old age just last year. His name was Don Brown. When I was little, about 6 or 7 years old he sold us sugar cane to chew on in the car ride back to Trona! He owned The Red Dig Bar in Needles, CA until he sold it 10 years ago. That’s where I met him again and realized I knew him from my childhood. I live across the Colorado River in Fort Mohave, AZ. I love seeing you in my old stomping grounds! Drive careful Dustin! God’s speed!
I live behind the gas station by the bridge I been wondering if he's gonna go the 15 or Sams town back way or come see our burrows in Oatman. Think it would be neat if he covered some history of along the river here and the newly changed nuclear fallout zone that Don Laughlin paid a bridge to have line drawn around him. Had that line been drawn west of Laughlin where it should be in the 90s it would of bankrupted him the the town of Laughlin and this whole valley still be all cotton and no people cause no-one wants to live in an area contaminated by radioactive fallout. I know I never would have come if I had known then what I know now
In case you haven’t been told, or up-sold, we do have a National Park Pass you can purchase for $80 at most NP gates. This will save you loads of money, on park entries, in the long run as you travel across the US.
Don't we pay enough in taxes? I don't know why everyone keeps going along with things like this. We get charged for a park then they want us to pay for visiting the park. Noway
@@whatyoumakeofit6635 Let me ask you this, then… we pay enough in taxes for the parks but do you want your tax dollars to pay for any old jackass who wants to head to the park to smoke weed and leave garbage behind, or would you rather have everyone have to pay a fee or be fined to at least attempt to screen out people who don’t feel any sense of the social responsibility that might lead them to pay for what they use and potentially also take care of it? You were so close to Cerro Gordo, a ghost town left from silver mine. The town once rivalled LosANGELES In size.it’s now owned by a fellow named Brent Underwood and he is trying to revive the town and is a TH-camr like you. It’s quite the beautiful place. It’s not too far from Lone Pine. Nice video
The white powder could possibly be borax. Driving through the California deserts at sunrise is one of my favorite things to do. Glad you’re enjoying our beautiful state.
OMG, the views! 😍 Talk about spectacular! I know I'll never get to see it in my lifetime, so thank you, Dustin, for taking me along for the ride. Absolutely beautiful!
I love watching Destination Adventure. It's the best TH-cam channel ever. I don't like watching Destination Adventure when BC is -20 with 8 feet of snow on the ground and Dustin's in Death Valley complaining about the heat. I'll start liking these videos again sometime in June. 😜
Trip idea... If you're going to Barstow... from Barstow, take 247 down to Joshua Tree National Park. From there you could drive to Palm Springs. After Palm Springs jump back on the 10 heading east. Take 86 south to Salton Sea. After Salton City take Borrego Salton Sea Way towards Borrego Springs. Scenic drive with hills and valleys. Imperial county road is a little rough in spots, but San Diego County part is well paved. Lots of spots to stop or camp. Closer to Borrego Springs many Canadians come down and spend the winter months there in their RV's. Free open land. South of Borrego Springs take highway 78 west to Julian. Famous for apple pies.
You forgot to tell that camera Don't get Stolen lol... I appreciate all the work you did to put this story together once again. Nailed it. Love the hat too you been wearing!
That white powder was most likey borax since it was mined out there. Wouldn’t hurt you… in small amounts will decalcify your pineal gland or third eye. Thanks for the video! Love Death (LIFE) Valley!
99.6k subs! Super stoked for you man, been here since 40k and was wondering why you didn’t have 100k back then!! Now I’m wondering why you don’t have 500k😝. Loved the skit to start this one too😆. Be safe and happy travels dude!
The desert is so beautiful. Raised on Vancouver Island, and loving the lush rainforest, and getting to experience the desert now as snowbirds....it's just so amazing! Thank you so much for the fun and very enjoyable video, Dustin!
Hey Dude! Thanks for another great adventure. Up here in the lower rainland (never mind the rest of BC) we just keep getting smacked by mother nature. Your adventures are always such an awesome break. I was just wondering about the old Gnarly Davidson and WOO, there she was! Thanks again Dustin. Stay safe, keep having fun and please keep the video's comming!
So I may have just ran out of old D A videos to watch ...new one just in time thank you for sharing your adventures with us all it is truly appreciated. Can't wait for the next one.
This channel hits every check mark on my checklist of what I consider awesome. Thank you for doing what you do man. If you ever make it to Maine, we have lot's of camping goin on up here. Come on over!
You are correct, absolutely breathtaking views! Awesome drone footage, great shots and an amazing adventure this one was! I'm glad you got to Badwater Basin. On to the next adventure!
Dustin: Thanks for taking me back to one of my favorite places the desert just cant be beat. There is something so special about it, find people either love it or hate it. That's ok we are all different. Thought you captured the special light and colors of the desert perfectly well done. Hope the MoHo wasn't damaged too bad in the sandstorm ,cross our fingers the possible mechanical challenges you mentioned don't materialize. Cant wait for next week.
Bloody awesome! Thanks for taking us along for the ride. So badly want to travel those roads again and have those adventures. This is the next best thing until this damn covid disappears and we can travel. Keep them coming. Stay safe. You're the best.
Lived in Pahrump NV not to far from Death Valley and Armogosa. The H you saw was for Helicopter pad. Those houses were the district office and housing for the responders. Lots of history in the areas where you are.
As always another great video. I love your videos...they make me feel as though I'm with you. You are honestly my favorite TH-camr. As always much love from Colorado ❤️
Two thumbs up......Wishing you a Very Happy New Year and looking forward to more adventure in 2022....Cheers and Best Wishes from Canada....Thanks for all your hard work.
This trip is easy compared to others she’s seen. If you maintain your vehicles right, age means nothing. In fact, the older rigs are probably better because you can maintain and fix things yourself.
Great video. I really enjoy watching all of yours. Maybe u already had but take care to check and make sure motorized vehicles are allowed where u ride ur ebike or other, u could possibly be ticketed. I only say this as a heads up. I am a cyclist and bicycle or motorized equipment access can be tricky in areas. Take care and can't wait for some more videos.
Yes! It's also kind of bad for the desert to have people off-roading all over the place - it disrupts the desert pavement that naturally forms on the surface of the soil and can increase erosion and habitat loss.
My late husband was from Los Angeles. His sisters & parents lived in and around Bishop, Lone Pine, Big Pine, Independence and Lake Isabella. His parents lived off the desert which included Death Valley. I ate things like Rocky Mountain oysters, rattle snake, and coyote stew. It was all good. Miss all the good times we had
Dustin one of favorite adventures for sure. You bring life to Death Valley. Rough terrain great for riding tough for breathing I'll bet. You have great sense of humor and a great tallent for filming. Looking forward for more adventures Dustin. Again thank you for sharing. Alberta, Canada.
Dustin, funny intro. Your definitely in my top few TH-cam channels. I lived in California most my life and have traveled quite a lot.
