Going into this video, I really had no idea where we were heading, but I knew I had to film Death Valley Junction. I had stopped here for a couple of days to finish up my editing after exploring Death Valley Junction. The little town of Death Valley Junction really surprised me, because it appears to be completely abandoned, but the buildings still have power on. There is a beautiful old home on this site, and it is in surprisingly good condition for its apparent age and the amount of time it has been sitting vacant. In fact everything here seems to be in great shape for sitting vacant. It is so nice to see a location like this without all of the vandalism. After exploring a bit around Amargosa (Death Valley Junction) I decided to head into Nevada to fuel up. Gas in California is more than twice the price of Nevada. I am so happy I made this decision, because that is when my adventure really began.
Shortly after getting fuel, a Trophy truck on a trailer passed me on the highway, and a quick google search told me that there was a desert race happening that weekend in Pahrump Nevada. I knew right away that I was going to find a way to get involved in that race. I immediately applied for Media clearance, and was approved, then it was just the task of finding a race team to join. This took me about ten hours, but I couldnt have found a better team. I got partnered up with Chase Motorsports, who race a 1600 class trophy truck. I was very fortunate to score a seat in the chase truck with Don, the race team owner, and he taught me all about the sport and his progression in it starting in 1983. We were a little unlucky during the race, having two flat tires, but finished fourth over all. It's not a podium, but its a good finish and it was a clean race.
My final plan for this video, was a skit with the Gnarley Davidson. I wanted to get out and explore the mountains a little, and of course being close to Area-51, I had to turn it into a skit. Don't worry folks, I didn't actually go to area 51, thats not even possible. I think that skit might get some hate from the new viewers, but if you have been watching for some time, you understand my humour, and we can laugh together :)

Pahrump is where legendary broadcaster, Art Bell, was located. It was also the closest populated area, to Las Vegas, with legal brothels. It’s not very far from “Area 51”

Dustin!!!! Rhyolite!!!!!! Just west of Beatty. Classic ghost town stuff for you!!! BTW, before the cooffe lockdown, in the winter, Amargosa Opera House attracts big crowds with weekend opera acts, very good quality. And, B&B room rentals along those now abandoned rooms. I stayed there!!
great episode, i love the trophy trucks also. I had a "No Fear" poster of Ivan Stewart in his Toyota in mid jump on my wall as a teenager in the 90's.
I'm sure that content want for a lot of people but I loved every minute of it! Thank you to Chase for letting us ride along! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

a desert race in Pahrump Nevada, that would the Nugget 250. I attended that and the Mint 400 when I was younger.
You're fireworks opening would have been great for a Joe Dirt cut scene too lol. You have the best travel channel I've run across, keep up the great work and Safe Travels.

I lived in Pahrump for 6 years 1999-2007 or 8 . It is hot in the summer and I missed having grass and trees. So back to northern California redwoods I went. Still here but it was fun seeing Pahrump on you tube from you.
