Good review Scott. I've had this on keg in a restaurant in Aachen, when I was last in Germany, and that's probably the last time I'll have it too as not a single one of the three Aldi stores near me have it in. In fact only one of the stores had some of the Oktoberfest beers, and that was only 3 of the 6 they're supposed to have in. It was a very nice Weizen from what I remember.
That's a great beer! First time I had it was way back in 2013...In a 'spoons...In Hammersmith...On Draught, it was so good I somehow ended up inhaling double digit pints of the stuff. By the time I'd meandered upto the Odeon (or whatever it was called in 2013) I was well happy... Anyway, fast forward to just last month and I managed to find some in bottles and tried it again and it was exactly the same as I recall it being. Plus the Hells from Benediktiner is also good, but it's the WeiB for me!
Been to Aldi today and bought the Benediktiner Hell, the Benediktiner Weissbier and the Erdinger Oktoberfest and looking forward to trying all 3 of them. Great review, made my mouth water, proust...
I was back in Aldi today and most of the Spaten and standard erdinger had been sold. Loads of Paulaner and the benediktiner ones there. Interesting how most of the erdinger were gone which is one you can buy everywhere.
I am surprised Lidl has not made any effort; very strange indeed. However, if I have my dates correct, they have until 06/10/2024 before the end of Oktoberfest, so they may throw a few on the shelves net week, but as we over halfway through Oktoberfest already, it is very disappointing to see no effort from them yet.

The Aldi stock policy for these beers was borderline insane mate.
The Hell one is very good. I had a bottle earlier.... 😁 🍻
Yeah I’m looking forward to that one.

Looking forward to the hells this week Marcus. In a shithole hotel in deepest darkest Peterborough 🤣
Kicks Paulaners butt any day. But Lidl's own Perlenbacher weissbier is also very good.
The Perlenbacher Weiss is very good.

@@Islwynpaul Prost. Enjoy my friend.
I'm reviewing this one later. Just did an Aldi run and it's a poor show this October. Got this and Spaten. Prost!
Yeah. I think I agree. But at least it was better than Lidl did 🤣
I had a can whilst on holiday in Tenerife last month, decent enough I thought, especially at £1.35 in British money.
Again shows how we are ripped off here doesn’t it mate.
Just had 2 bottles of this in the same glass nice weissbeer better than the original erdinger
Normal Erdinger is fine. But isn’t a patch on the others in my opinion Ian. The Oktoberfest version is decent though.
@ScottReviewsThings got a couple of the oktoberfest version in my fridge to try

That’s bizarre
Weird that Lidl have done naff all this time around after last year's box set triumph!
@@scorpio_67 really don’t get it mate.

Looking at next weeks leaflet there is zero sign of them doing anything sadly Gary.
Was alright. Not overly excited about getting another.
I quite liked it. Bit different to the others. Didn’t end up finishing it as had to go out for dinner.
I found it a bit mediocre. Meh
