    I have the bambino plus. It does have a hot water dispenser called the hot water operation as per manual. You press 1 cup and milk foam button together and the machine will dispense hot water through the steam wand. Press any button to stop operation. A neat little feature that isnt mentioned by any youtube videos ive seen for the bambino plus. Both great little machines that doesnt take much space on the counter and makes such good coffees.

      On my Bambino Plus (purchased July 2021) pressing 1 cup and milk foam button together turns the machine off. There is no hot water operation noted in the manual unfortunately. They must have changed the design recently.

    Thank you for such a good and thorough presentation! I've wanted an espresso machine for years and finally decided on the Bambino Plus. I'm really impressed with the quality and features at this price point and truly enjoy going down the espresso rabbit hole!

    I had the Nespresso essenza mini (which I love) but decided I wanted to try a real espresso maker so, I got the Breville Bambino (I’m cheap for the difference in price I’ll learn to steam milk 😅) Anyway, I got the replacement tamp for the Plus and so, far I’m impressed .. now, to get the Breville smart grinder pro 👍 .. Great video that and recommendations helped me decide 😊

    In part due to this video, the video you did from home with your wife about the Bambino Plus (and your response to me that my Baratza Virtuoso Plus grinder would work fine with it) and James Hoffman's review of the Bambino Plus in one of his comparison videos (even though he didn't like it much for lighter roasts, but I like medium/medium dark/dark roasts, so I don't care if it struggles to make good espresso from light roasts), I purchased the Bambino this past week, and so far, I LOVE it!
    I bought a palm tamper/distribution tool to replace the cheesy plastic tamper, and just grinding my espresso (I've been using Lavazza Crema e Aroma and Dazbog White Nights espresso) at the manufacturer's suggested setting of 8, hitting the double shot button, and then filling my 10 oz mug the rest of the way from the milk wand for a large Americano has been a complete game changer for me.
    I thought this would just be "okay," especially since the grinder and machine combined cost less than most espresso grinders, but each Americano I have made, from both brands of espresso, have been better than the Americanos I get at Starbucks (which I thought were good until I tried this), so I'm really happy! Thanks for such wonderful in-depth, honest reviews!

    I just got the bambino, and feel like a ton of water is coming out during the steaming process itself (not the initial purge, which is to be expected if i’m understanding correctly). No matter how much i let it run before steaming, a lot of water comes out with the steam. Is this normal? Can i fix it? Thanks!!

  • @slofty

    Question: does the smaller Bambino have anything in the way of a three-way post-shot pressure release valve, or is it prone to the 'portafilter sneeze'?
    Excellent review, very helpful!

    is the Bambino Plus's steam wand better if you're going to manually texture the milk? I mean you don't have to use the automatic function, right?

      I have the plus and I always texture my milk manually to make it right for latte art. The auto frothing works, but it’s not optimal for perfect microfoam.

    Thanks for this! How does the espresso from the Bambino compare to the espresso from the Express and Duo Temp? I bought the Express but then returned it because I didn't like the espresso, no matter how much I adjusted the grind setting, grind amount and portafilter filter wall thickness.

      FYI, I am about to replace our 9 year old Duo-Temp because the steam pressure suddenly fell off the cliff last month and cleaning it is no longer having the desired effect. The espresso is still coming out fine, but I can't get a good foam anymore on the milk. I will likely get the Bambino because it takes up less counter space and thanks in part to ECS's fantastic review.

    • @ecscoffeeinc
      @ecscoffeeinc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Breville Bambino and the Barista express have very similar steam wands (They may actually be the same manufactured part), that is why Rebecca was making comments comparing it to the Express. The Bambino and the Plus have different types of steam wands which makes that feature not directly comparable so we used the Express as a common reference. Hopefully that makes sense! :)
      You can use the steam wand section of our Barista Express video from a while back for reference if you'd like: th-cam.com/video/QtvXKPBrYXk/w-d-xo.html
