    When driving in fog, I like to find myself a blocker ... let someone who is going a similar speed pass you and let them get, whatever it is, 100, 200 feet in front of you... so you can still see their running lights ... and just follow them ... if trouble comes up ahead, their brake lights will come on. Extends your safety range.

    Tiki my guy!!! Good content, congrats on joining the Schneider team. I've been driving for little over 11 yrs. 5 are with Schneider which I'm still currently with. I'm OTR right now. You'll get more drop & hooks as the keep racking in those weeks of driving and get morecomfortable. Keep up the good work. See you out there on the road or OC's

      Thank you Marc!! I'm glad you enjoy the videos! And thanks for the warm welcoming, I'm excited for my future progress with Schneider! And good to know I'll be getting more drop and hooks, it's honestly a lot less stressful for me than trying to meet that appointment for that live load/unload! I'll more than likely run into you at one of the OC's one of these days. Stay safe out there Marc!

    Worst driving conditions? Granted this was in a car but the scariest driving I have ever experienced was in a blizzard. Visibility was probably 10 feet in front of me and I was probably driving around 30 mph at most on the highways and far slower during certain stretches. I was actually leading the pack on the road at those speeds. Turned my 3.5 hour trip into a 9+ hour trip and I was never more thankful to get home and off the road.
    Also, would just like to add, I've been watching your videos and I thought I'd come back to check out your first few trips. As someone who has been considering getting into trucking, really gives me encouragement.

    I used to drive Chicago to Los Angeles. I would drive 70-75 but I stayed scanning front and rear constantly. I had two CPH pull up beside me and flash their spotlight at me then drive away lol. Just gotta be careful but yeah that 55 limit is ridiculous. And for parking download trucker path it will tell you if lots are full or not

    • @Ray_Blanchette
      @Ray_Blanchette 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Schneider is picky on that, they have criteria you need to meet to do it. I know Portland OC really doesn't let anyone park it at home, they want you to leave it either at the OC or in a Schneider drop yard. I know a few drivers out of Phoenix who do get to take it home with them because they are like an hours drive or more away from the OC and can actually park it on the property.

    Tiki. I've got an idea for a channel. I see so many trucker videos where the drivers going to a place they haven't been and they don't which gate to come in at or where to go specifically. Looks stressful. What if someone started collecting one minute excerpts from drivers dash cams of these places. Then you could watch that before taking off.
