The Muslim scholars of the past used to travel a lot as part of their scholarship. That's a wholesome training in the scholarly and the worldly, unlike other traditions that stress reclusive living as the ultimate path to experiencing salvation.

    O mindful traveller
    Remember well
    That on the earth
    You are to toil
    For in the grave
    You hope to rest
    And on the 'plain'
    You will be judged
    Then you will return
    To your 'home'
    In Paradise
    Inshaa' Allah

I once heard a villager who left his village to go find work far away that the people in his village have no clue about the world outside of their village, which they think is the entire world. That was pretty amazing to hear that from someone who experienced both being untraveled and traveled.

42 seconds in and my mind is blown subhanallah. Ive been wondering why humans were created to bear witness that there is one true God when the angels already do so but we are testifying in such a different way thats actually amazing

Does watching documentaries and virtually 'travelling' the surface of the earth and beneath it and under the sea amount to obeying Allah's command to travel the earth? I believe it does.. in fact, it could be more beneficial in its own right, because suppose you were to travel in Africa on a safari, the amount and quality of wildlife exposure would not be the same as watching a quality documentary in which a whole team spent days and nights waiting for very elusive moments to be captured on camera.. I think this phenomenon is part of Allah's promise to "show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Qur'an) is the truth"..

    Three vital elements
    If not in equilibrium
    Create harmful imbalance
    In the human disposition
The effort of dawah (propagation of Islam)
The essence of ibadah ( worship)
And the essential khidmah ( serving others)
Thus when the equilibrium is established
Man becomes a source of guidance and mercy
Like the candle in the darkness
    And no matter how vigorous
    The negative forces
    The soldier within
    With the will of Allah
    Is never defeated
    💪

Coming from a Jewish background how do you navigate conflicts between Jews & Muslims? I would assume that would cause internal conflict.
