      Exactly that brother, knowledge. Sometimes these discussions become confusing due to semantics or the confusion of our particular word references and terminologies. I think I understand what you mean when you say 'book of psychology' .
      Alhamdu lillah we know that the Qur'an is primarily a book of guidance (so, not a book of science or psychology as such) which we need for worship and purification so we can aim towards reaching our potential - human beings being human - as His creation under Him, and our struggle for Jannat, by His Grace, so it necessarily requires us to take on and step up to His Guidance - fill our gaps, purify and work on sincerity and closeness. That can only ever be about improving knowledge of Allah swt, His Attributes, Qur'an and Sunnah and doing what He Commands us and the Prophet (saw) shows us. Doing that means the development of both our internal and external aspects which, by their nature, are entwined and are integral to that lifelong process. Part of our success, as we might perceive that in dunya, is achieved through our deeper understanding of the nafs and mind-heart connection (especially when we are significantly blocked or stuck and may be far from Allah swt) which we can learn some of through some aspects which we choose to broadly bring under the term 'psychology'. So, part of what we need to step up to is dealt with by parts of 'psychology' and its associated therapies since it can support our steps towards our first waking or our subsequent re-awakenings through life's journey. Like the layers of an onion, by the Grace of Allah swt, our gaps and understanding of our own mind-heart and thoughts, feelings and behaviour connection is being revealed. We all need the rest of the story beyond our dunya journey. Allahu 'alam. May Allah swt grant us all the knowledge which is beneficial to our goal to be human under Him, raise us through that great struggle and may our resulting actions be pleasing to Him so our final chapter is everlasting with Him. Ameen

      Occurs when the reality of the heart and soul are altogether excluded as an entity. There are also organic causes for this ie someone's brain is wired that way eg autism spectrum, but as the brain is neuroplastic, certain wiring can be trained to function in a more healthy manner. Recognition of an issue is the first half of the solution to this problem. Also falls under the category at times as excessive scruples in religion resulting from an incorrect understanding of the faith created by the anxieties of being incorrect in anyway and often worsened by the whispers of the mind,nafs

    The benefits and his attempts to introduce a Systematic-Scientific steps to Islamic Phsyclogy will eventually touch religion. Every living body has a soul and if the mind is triggered to beleive in unlimited prospects, it will touch "curiousity" - which is the close friend of the soul. As science is the giving of answers to the physical issues, Islamic Phsycolgy will give an introductive and modern guide to explore more definative methods to solve the spiritual issues.

      Assalam-o-Alaikum dear cousin in humanity,
      I agree to what has been said in this splendid talk. To be honest all you just need to know that the one father ADAM (A.S) and mother EVE (A.S) of collective humanity were MUSLIMS so please do not treat ISLAM as a new RELIGION. It has always been the divinely prescribed WAY OF LIFE (DEEN in ARABIC LANGUAGE) of all the prophets who sincerely guided the humans of their times according to the amount of DEVIATION from the single STRAIGHT PATH (Siraat-e-Mustaqeem in ARABIC Language) that HUMANITY had suffered in their varying environments and beliefs. The rituals (Shariah, Ibadah in ARABIC Language) were based on the physical, mental and spiritual needs of the people accordingly. Thus rituals in ways of lives (Deen of this first temporary world) needed constant up-gradation till finalized by the last of the prophets i.e. Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W - PBUH). Ideally all humanity was supposed to follow and distribute these DIVINE prescriptions and provisions according to the teachings of every prophet till arrival of next prophet. This had been surely told by every prophet to the people of their times but were unfortunately corrupted by certain NON-PROPHETIC people in following their merely whispered personal whims and wishes upon invitation of certain SUB-HUMAN DIVISIVE AND DECEPTIVE CREATIONS.
      So briefly and simplistically speaking, ISLAM (in ARABIC Language, submission in English, probably shaanti in hindi etc etc etc) had indeed the DIVINELY INSPIRED UNIFYING IDEOLOGY of entire humanity from first prophet till last human on this temporary earth that is why no prophet ever changed it. And that simply had always been (THERE IS ONLY ONE SINGULAR ALLAH (in ARABIC LANGUAGE and GOD, ILAAHA, BHAGWAAN, TIAN etc etc etc in some of the other known languages) WORTHY OF WORSHIP AND WORTHY OF ASKING FROM AND WORTHY OF CREATING AS WELL AS SUSTAINING). Divine IDEOLOGY which never changed was LA ILAAHA ILLALLAH in Arabic Language.
      All necessary knowledge required for this first temporary world is, by guarantee, completely described and prescribed in HOLY QURAN which is more than sufficient even if this temporary earth is to last for one more day or one billion years. That is why, ALLAH has now taken a personal NON-HUMAN delegated responsibility to safe guard it from corruption till HE WILLS this first universe to exist.
      And ALLAH knows everything and we know nothing except what HE Almighty, All-knowing, All-forgiving and All-giving grants us in our various paradigms of reality and existence.
      And in TRUTH only ALLAH Alone is everything and we all humans are nothing except what HE All-beneficent, All-merciful grants us from HIS infinite sources of CREATION.
      As per my humble understanding and experience, most of the psychiatric problems are in fact originated by mental intervention of sub-human creatures and mostly insha Allah you can treat your patients with the last two chapters of Holy Quran 3+0+3 for about 6 weeks when you would definitely observe positive improvement and significant if not full recovery. The treatment is time-tested and proven with no side effects. However, the efficacy will mostly depend on the spiritual state of the physician rather than patient for initial few weeks and then on primary caregiver and then on patient himself. Also use some minimal dose of re-uptake inhibitors if considered necessary.

      I am interested to know about compounded trauma's too.
      Compounded and layered traumas or bruising or blocks need specialist mapping or meticulous interventions to actually resolve. It does require a framework as people are unique and come with all sorts of pysche breaking thresholds. Defining an array of causes, effects or extent of the problem can also be problematic too;
      so therefore is a qualified and certified Murrabi (Sheikh of Guiding one to God) of the science of Tassawuf able or better suited or with more of a toolkit to take on the challenge or Amanah of tailoring the framework, leading the curriculum and administrating the interventions? Or does Ilham or being on a framework of true Tariqah allow prognosis and resolving of the problem. Nevertheless it will be great to map a systemic and holistic framework to allow awareness and navigation.

    I beleive treating people in psychological matters it is important to know the building blocks from which they come from ie if you were treating somebody from a certain culture who has the same symptoms as another from a different culture although the symptoms may be the same the treatment that would work would be different and most important part is languge because it's through languge we are reached in our deepest levels of core being.

    In psychology, a Dr. must be certified to treat people. In America we have many uncertified Imams treating people. If they are certified Islamic scholars , many times they are unable to understand these issues. Often also Imams will shun psychology wrongfully. For that reason, most Muslims I have ever met are against psychiatrists help.

    These are some extremely interesting psychology concepts here. I am by no means knowledgeable in the matter, but I always thought the equivalent of the concept of Nafss (نفس) in the quran is the same concept of psyche or self, and that the Soul is another layer of the human nature which is (rouh) الروح. I saw Dr. Ruthman using the word Rouh / روح for the soul, which I believe is totally different. To me, psychology, islamic or not, attempts to understand the psyche/self and by no mean the soul, which is from Allah and is considered pure and somehow holy ( قل الروح من عند ربي، و ما أوتتم من العلم إلا قليلا )

    The nourishment of the Ruh(soul) is the worship, submission of Allah SWT where the soul comes from, the nourishment for the physical body is from materialistic and earthly things because that is what the body is made of, that is why all the worldly riches does not nourish the soul hence all the rich celebrities and people are depressed because their soul is starving void and empty.

  • @MrMediawise
    @MrMediawise 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Psychology is not the teaching understanding of the soul but actually definition of nafs or the lower self , as Islamically the Ruh ( soul ) is pure which is the actual YOU . And the physical body is the cloak of the soul and NAFS is the reaction of both together thus creating the nafs - lower self the desire to do good or bad and there is diffrent levels of nafs too.

    Assalam-o-Alaikum dear cousin in humanity,
    I agree to what you have said this in this splendid talk. To be honest dear all you just need to know that the one father ADAM (A.S) and mother EVE (A.S) of collective humanity were MUSLIMS so please do not treat ISLAM as a new RELIGION.
    And in TRUTH only ALLAH Alone is everything and we all humans are nothing except what HE All-beneficent, All-merciful grants us from HIS infinite sources of CREATION.

    as a Muslim, its about tje Ilmul Gaib, we are Insan and the real Insan is not the physical one (dhahir) but the Real is the RUH, and the study of phychology is in the frame of secular core thus it can never comprehend the study of the SOUL with is the real INSAN. we will Use ISlamic term to understand it properly not to bring fourt spirituality in the bounderies of secular founded pshycology.
    This understanding of the self is needed to know our place in.the face of ALLAH. if the world knew its place in the mercy of ALLAH then PEACE within and out will RISE beyond the LIGHT.

    If communicating about concepts, then use examples for each different concept that is mentioned otherwise it's equivalent to passing an empty drinking vessel to someone and saying take a sip of this! I got to 26mins and leave with a dry mouth.

      Salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah Rajab. For me, cognitive behavioural therapy removed a block or some of the 'black' from my heart, which provided 'eyes' through which to look and 'sight' by the Grace of Allah swt which led to my reversion to islam. After I reverted, my (not-yet woken muslim) counsellor told me that several of her clients have also reverted. Some blackness in the heart, by the Grace of Allah swt can be removed and this can lead to an 'awakening'. The awakening is a step onto the straight path. When I offer others in the ummah support, born muslims (as we all are in fact) or not-yet woken muslims support, my intentions are simply to help and indirectly enable some aspects of unveiling or uncovering to be facilitated, if Allah swt wills because I want for others what I want (or have had to some degree) for myself, whether I use a secular or other so-called (islamic) language. If we have been provided the skills bi idhni allah to bake a delicious cake, we're surely going to share that cake. So, for example, in a client session, I may talk about a healthy sense of self via healthy separateness, healthy attachment/detachment and discuss the importance of developing communication to aid establishing healthy personal boundaries which can facilitate someone's needs being met in a healthy way, all of which I see as relevant when discussing issues such as low self esteem, anxiety, anger, self harm, suicide, addiction or abusive relationships. Much of this, in my understanding, can be found in close inspection of the stories of Ibraheem (as), Yusef (as), Musa (as) and through examples of Muhammad (saw) as well as realising the benefits of prayer, the purpose of life in dunya, understanding individual account and addressing natural fears around death. I hope this makes sense and is useful in some way. In shaa Allah khair. May Allah swt keep us all 'awake' and straight and guide us all ever nearer to Him. Ameen

      @Ali Al-Mahdi You just proved my theory; every blockbuster Hollywood movie came from the dream of a disturbed mind. I know this to be true because I saw hell in my dream, and many video games are set in it. In other words, I watch the someone play a video game, and say "I've seen that place before PCs were invented. That's hell. It's a real place". Further, there is an ayat in Quran which translates, "We have created hell as an entertainment for them"
