I think Sanji vs Aokiji is a good match up, but what about Yamato? She is clearly facing Topman/mercury.

I've always thought that Kuzan's matchup would be with Nico Robin given their history together. And that their "fight" would be Robin convincing him to leave the Blackbeard Pirates. But if a Strawhat is going to have a physical fight with Kuzan it'd have to be with Sanji.

You cooked too hard with this one, I really like the idea of Sanji either accidentally or intentionally helping Zoro forge his blades black (in ten seconds mid fight just like on LRLL) and I know there's no way it'll actually happen. As for the bulk of the theory, you've convinced me that Aokiji vs Sanji is a viable matchup (also that thumbnail is immaculate who did the art) and your chain of logic made me realize that both Sanji and Aokiji were the most reluctant to follow their own dreams (instead of being halted by outside forces) until some laughing maniac refused their refusal either through honeyed words or sheer belligerence.

Considering he’s friends with Garp, the possability of him making a bad mistake is high. And considering the first thing Aokiji did was join the Pirate that told Sengoku he was going to cover the world in darkness…Sengoku makes rather big mistakes.

Sanji unlocking black flames has been a theory even before he got Ifrit Jambe but it would be kinda cool if its not fully black and have a bit of purple on it. My theory for its name is Iblis Jambe since that would be an upgrade after Ifrit. Can you make a video on the future upgrades of luffy + the new monster trio since after wano it seems like they have a demonic theme going on (excluding jimbei)
He could get a haki boost to turn it black to break through the logia defenses since he has to obviously.

I think Sanji will achieve something similar to that of Amaterasu by coating is flames with armament haki. Only a person with equivalent level or higher level of armament haki would be able to put out those flames. Otherwise they will burn everything in their path.

Adding on to what you said near the end of the video, could the black-flame wielding opponent Ryuma fought have been the dragon that he famously slayed? A dragon that breathes black fire has interesting thematic implications to one piece
He was shown to have a black blade already in the recent monsters animation, but not in the original monsters, so I’m not sure! He made a name for himself before Monsters happened so I am suspecting he did something before then that made it black

The iconic scene at Arlong Park. With Nami and the hat, rescuing Robin from Enies lobby, rescuing Sanji from whole cake, getting Jimbei out of jail, saving Zoro from execution, helping Brook get his shadow setting him free, and saving the village Chopper, Franky, and Usopp were from. When it comes to the final battle, I want to see Luffy get knocked down and in his moment of defeat every Strawhat pull up against Blackbeard or Imu ( whomever the final villain is) and firght and protect Luffy into he could fight again. It would be a full circle moment as in Luffys greatest time of need his crew was therejust like he was for them.

While this matchup seems good in terms of fighting alone and maybe them being fire and ice but narrative wise I subscribe to Kuzan vs Robin. Their history has been decades long.
"Whether Saul letting you live was right or wrong, will you show me the answer from here on?" I feel like Robin defeating Kuzan will be the culmination of their shared character arcs

@@ReiseLukasI think they answered your question in the same reply which I also agree with - that we can’t see Robin reaching admiral levels of power from a literal and narrative standpoint. Story wise she doesn’t need to be that strong to achieve her dreams, not being alone and relying on others are big parts of her character for starters, thank Saul and Kuzan for that. Then in a literal sense it wouldn’t work for her to beat Kuzan who it took Akainu 10 days (Non flashback fights will never take this long- Odas also not good at depicting time in long fights like Luffy vs Kat or Kaido) to barely defeat, and who also tied with Garp but likely would’ve won without interference. I can’t even see Jimbei or Franky (without ancient weapon) getting close to Admiral levels so Robin and the rest of the crew below her aren’t getting there.

@@kenerb654 I don't even think she needs to be as strong as an Admiral to beat Kuzan. There's too much history between them for the fight to not have a psychological element, just like Garp vs Kuzan. Kuzan was not going all out against Garp either and if he were to fight Robin he probably wouldn't there either.
Robin defeating Kuzan wouldn't be about her getting stronger but that she has risen above the demons in her past, Kuzan being one of them. Kuzan haunted Robin most of her life.
This is why I hate powerscalers, they put mechanics over a potentially beautiful story.

What i believe is happening with the gorosei is, if its possible for inanimate objects to "eat" a devil fruit, perhaps its possible for a devil fruit to "eat" a person.

Brilliant theory ! When I saw the thumbnail I thought that you would parallel their kindness . Kuzan has proven the most humane of the top tier Marines (due to his backstory) and maybe Sanji inspires him to go full noble , chivalrous etc , got some overcooking here
I like the symbology of the fight from a meta view how kuzan use to ascribe to “fiery justice” then became jaded and…cold over the years (puns very much intended) then going along with “lazy justice” and now i believe we don’t have a definite view of his now but on the opposite of that fight we have a similar combatant currently a very fiery passionate fighter constantly worried due to the nature of the Germa tech that he could become cold, heartless, and jaded
Dak, was it your theory that Long Ring Long Land's 10 islands were the points in the crown of the entrance to Laugh Tale when Aqua Laguna removes some of the water from the area? I want to call back to that theory. If we get 10 Straw Hats vs 10 Titanic Captains (And we know that we'll be getting our final SH member soon if everything goes well) then each Straw Hat fighting on one of the islands against BB's crew also has an extra layer of symbolic meaning. The BB pirates would see it as Divide and Conquer, a way to isolate them , but the Straw hats would have the stance of "No matter how far apart we are, our hearts beat as one" and would be an extension of the moment Robin was happy that Sanji trusted in her. Personally I want Vivi in the crew by this point, but I have no idea how she would be yonkou crew ready, power-wise without something like Kuma's fruit. Luffy would obviously fight BB in the center if this was the case
Completely, 100% agree that the fights happening on each of the 10 islands would be perfect. Thing is, there are 11 members if you count the captains. So maybe the members each fight on 1 of the 10 points, and the captains are at laughtale which is underneath it (or maybe they even bring laugh tale to the surface in the middle)
Hey @DaksSake, I am only halfway into the video but something else to consider is that the swirls of Sanji's eyebrows represent energy (which is perpetual) and Kuzan's powers are cold, which is the inverse. So, I think we're going to find that Kuzan's motivations are much darker than we initially suspect. For while Sanji is driven by passion and a desire to see the world united, it is likely we will find that Kuzan wants to see everything dismantled and shutdown so tragedy cannot occur again BECAUSE of a loss of passion in his life, be it someone or something he has become disillusioned with.

another random aspect of this possible fight, is Kuzan’s cool demeanor and his control over his emotions vs sanji, who’s emotions always run high and is almost fueled off of them. not to mention, if kuzan does try to get near Robin
it could be a tie back to either Robin saving sanji in wano or sanji’s willingness to save her in Enies Lobby (obviously this is all speculation)

Bro even cooked up how the story would go.
1. Robin somehow coming face to face with Kuzan and then, them having their conversation about choosing the right path or something...
2. Kuzan says unlike before when he was a Marine involved in the buster call in Ohara, he cannot let Robin off the hook now that he is a Pirate and that he must follow his Captain's order.
3. I can't really imagine Robin screaming for help but i guess Sanji somehow hears the scream of her heart anyway and comes to her aide. Paralleling how Robin came to Sanji's aide when he screamed his lungs out asking for it. (to help fight an enemy they just couldn't fight against)

The name black flames could be the original flame spoken of in the one piece world so sanji using this will be epic
Robin has more a story connection, and the drama of them fighting would be better for me on one hand, but on the other, Sanji just has a better chance of fighting him, especially since Sanji actually feels doubt in himself a lot, an issue Kuzan seems to be having as well.
I got to say Dak it makes sense for the theory that the strawhats are going to get another member and I believe it will be Yamato just not yet which make this match up so much better

Pretty good video and exposition, as always....but Idk man, I'm betting on Nico Robin tbh. We haven't seen her full power (don't forget we didn't saw Gear 4 until 3 arcs after the time-skip, even tho Luffy was capable of doing it since the beggining of it) and she trained with the revolutionaries, that alone puts her training in comparision to the ones Luffy and Zoro endured. I'm not (necesarily) saying she is gonna be part of the monster trio by beating a fleet admiral level guy, but I think she will hold her ground pretty damn well...plus her battle will have the most emotional impact out of all the BB vs Strawhats, meaning that the battle will go in more than one way, and even if she isn't able to defeat Kuzan, she will atack and severely impact his philosophy and manners.
Also, Laffite seems to be a more interesting match-up for Sanji if y'all ask me idk.
I get what you're saying about Robin, but I think Sanjuan Wolf is the perfect matchup🙏🏼 itll likely build onto the Tequila Wolf stuff and her relationship with Saul, a non-elbaf giant (like Sanjuan)

Love your theories and a lot of the ideas in this video but I just don’t think it makes sense for aokiji to help blackbeard change the world when he wants to improve it and blackbeard wants to plunge it into darkness. Would make much more sense for him to go with the revolutionaries in that case, especially since Dragon’s already heavily tied to Ohara.

@DaksSake I don’t think Kazan defected, I think he is DEEP undercover. The verbal interactions between Garp and himself seemed fishy. I think Sword came up with this infiltration plan and Garp+Kuzan talked about this situation. Remember, Blackbeard has the titanic captains, but what sank the titanic? A glacier 👀
Since I have battle royal between yonkou as the end of the series battle. My theory has always been. Sanji opponents will be Kuzan crocodile and benn.

In my opinion Koby vs Kuzan is just a fantastic match up protoge vs protege and Sword help vs Bb pirates to even the odds. If Sword help idk what the rest of sword would do cause it would be weird if just Koby helped. But I love the idea of Sanji vs Kuzan. Sanjis Bb opponent would need him to be able to use a big attack power type of move to beat him. I can also see a moment of where Kuzan is like “No one has every melted my ice”. Then Sanji would use Ifrit and melt the ice and Sanji might say something like “Youve never meet someone whos heart burns with as much passion as mine”. Sanji is one of my fav straw hat he already stopped Kizarus laser so I could see he going toe to toe with Kuzan.
Black Flame Sanji vs Awakened Aokiji over Charlotte Pudding -- Some time after Sanji's win, he marries his former fiancee and they rule over Totto Land, and potentially Germa Kingdom as well, going far beyond what Big Mom intended for them and finally settling Sanji's exuberantly romantic nature on one woman who is receptive, at least when she's not relapsing into her behavior from when she was trying unsuccessfully to hate him.
I follow the “iceberg that sank the titanic” theory, kuzan will be the linchpin to blackbeards defeat
