It's been hinted many times in the story, Zoro can sense blood lust. We got a hint of his senses at the beginning of Wano where he was able to point out the real killer of the crime he was being blame for. You can't hide blood lust from Zoro. This is why Shiryuu will lost against zoro, because he can't hide his blood lust even though he can turn invisible.
A zoro shiryu fight in the rain would be badass in the anime. Especially if they make it sound like older samurai movies where the audio is just background noise and swords clinking
I love the idea that Zoro will fight Shiryu and Sanji will fight Pizzaro, their type of opponents being switched. Zoro having to fight the trickey guy whose ability isnt a directly helping a a brawl. And Sanji fighting a a literal large scale battle with an opponent changing the landscape itself.
Pizarro Looking mad weak ATM, I think Pizarro/Jimbei will be a much cooler fight, especially if Jimbei controls Sea water during the fight and Pizarro controls Hachinosu. I think Sanji VS Aokiji will happen. Ifrit Jambe vs Ice is too fitting and Aokiji is a Womanizer when first introduced. Besides, Sanji is already going to fight Kizaru and while I think Zoro will come in assist once Jimbei and Zoro defeat Lucci, It will be fun to see Sanji dunk on 2 Admirals, potentially 3 if Ryokugyu vs Sanji becomes a thing.

I think it makes sense for Shiryu’s epithet “of the rain” to not be tied to his fighting or style. It sounds like something he would do to make readers assume it is tied to his fighting style, only to flip the reality of what it is. He had the name before getting the ability. I think it alludes to something in his backstory or some horrific event he was apart of.
Still love my head canon. Interaction with cross guild is same time as with Blackbeard. Zoro and Mihawk are having an epic fight. Shiryu tries to sneak attack them and without even knowing he's there they completely destroy Shiryu. 😂
They both stop dead in their tracks, look over at him while he’s still invisible, and raise their swords. In unison they just say “if you intend to interfere with this dual then I’d hope you’re prepared to die”
I was just thinking the same thing, Shiryu blindsides Mihawk and the steals and the title of strongest swordsman from Zoro. Sets up a final clash nicely imo

You ever thought that just like how zoro is originally from wano so is shiryu. The epithet “shiryu of the rain” is similar to a lot of epithets from wano. Hyogoro of the Flower, Raizo of the Mist, Kikunojo of the Lingering Snow etc. Kanjuro is known as evening shower which sort of relates to rain, perhaps he’s a kurozumi like Kanjuro.
20:06 I want to mention something. I found out that TUNA in their spinal cord fluid is. . . GREEN BLOOD. It could mean vegapink was probably using spinal cord fluid from FISHMEN. Fishmen might have a special ability that since they come from the sea, their spinal fluid can hold the genes of devil fruit without directly consuming the fruit. Dont forget how at one point in the story they were eating fishmen because they considered them fish. We also learned in the story from Kokoro in water 7 that when fishmen come and stand on land long enough, they start becoming and looking more HUMAN. 🧐 there can be a possibility that celestial dragons are actually decendants of fishmen. Notice how they hair makes them look like Whales in a fishbowl. Vegapunk could have been using spinal cord fluid from fishmen. Which connects to Saturn who probably ate fishmen like other celestial dragons did in the past and then discovered something special about their spinal cord fluid. We can relate the spinal cord fluid to how irl they use STEM cells to grow and recreate tissue and DNA. This could be the one piece equivalent of that.

We were so hype to see Zoro finally open his closed eye and unlock something cool at a peak moment. After this, I can totally see flipping the idea on its head in that moment and instead Zoro closes his other eye. He like feels the breath of all things and can figure where Shiryu is.
Zoro closes his good eye, and opens the one with the scar on it; it looks like a blinded eye at first, but Zorro taps into the breath of all things and it suddenly becomes a hawkeye. Zorro can suddenly see everything - every raindrop, every tree and rock, Shiriu's sword, & Shiriu himself. Sight base not on sight or will power, but on that which connects all things in existence -thier breath and voice. For once, he can even tell the directions they are correctly. Okay, that last part was unrealistic fanfic, but you get my point of how cool this sounds, right?
Zoro vs Shiryu is one of my most anticipated fights because it'll truly showcase Zoro's observation mastery once he bypasses the invisibility awakening
Sanji needed super speed vs Invisible Queen, Shiryu is much faster than Queen so Zoro needs superior speed and observation haki than Sanji to compete with Shiryu, with awakening Shiryu will be another level.

I agree it will be great but the invisibility fruit is so overpowered that it doesn’t need to awaken; it’s like Caesar’s fruit and Magellan’s where they barely need to train haki and still are some of the most dangerous opponents ever, without awakening. Even Garp had trouble locating Shiryu which shows he is already top tier with literally only a fruit and a sword.
Let's say that the awakening of the clear-clear fruit allows the user to completely hide their presence, to a point where even observation haki can't detect them. In this scenario it could be interesting to see Zoro tap into the "Breath of All Things" again, as in Alabasta he said he could "hear" the voice of the steel in his blades and the steel in Daz Bones body. So maybe instead of Zoro sensing Shiryu, he feels the "breathing" of Shiryu's sword as it moves to strike.

Got a video for you: Wado is a cursed blade, it robs it's user of their sense of direction in favor to a "road to harmony", Zoro got lost since he got Wado, Kuina wasn't allowed to touch it and when she dares to it, she couldn't find her way downstairs and so on, continuing the theme of Enma taking the user's haki, Wado takes their observation Haki, no cursed blade ever "kills" its user, but feeds from something and if the user can't control it, it will cause their deaths

Great video! It would be cool for Wado to turn into a black blade against Shiryu. I'm in the camp that Zoro v Mihawk comes after, so it would be cool to see Zoro go into that fight with one black blade with the other two changing against Mihawk. I'm a believer in Hidden Island's theory that Mihawk is Shanks' former first mate. Following that theory, I would love to see the final conflict in the series be a Davey Back Fight over the One Piece with the following matchups that Hidden mentions in his video, if Mihawk somehow joins the Red Hair Pirates before then: Luffy v Shanks Zoro v Mihawk Sanji v Beckman It would also be really cool to see Jinbe v Lucky Roux and Ussop v Yassop.
A thought that came up to me while I watched this is that for all the times Luffy lost to an opponent (perhaps even multiple times) I am half expecting the entire Strawhat Crew is going to lose their first go against the Blackbeard Pirates. This could necessitate Shanks and company to go save them. Notice that all 3 crews somewhat have the same structure. It might also be fun to see all 3 groups in one big old mash-up… not sure how that would happen, but it would be fun!

I feel the Shiryu fight happens before the Mihawk fight, as Mihawk is his endgame. I think the closed eye will come into play where his working eye is useless and his "injured" eye will develop some sort of keen unique observation Haki. I dont think Oda would give him the same eye(s) as Mihawk but at the same time i cant help but wonder if its part of Mihawks training was to develop his observation to the extent he doesnt even need to see them and thats why his eye had been closed for so long, he has been training it all this time, the scar is just a misdirection.
After you saying all that I just imagined that after the straw hats disband Zorro somehow becomes the warden of impel down (becoming the king of hell) 1:53
all throughout the story since the first chapter...the good guys at some point will be shown with a closed left eye and evil the right eye. I'm surprised people haven't pointed this out yet. it also happens when ppl mention the one piece sometimes. one of the first times you really notice it is Jaya which , go figure its an arc about a missing eye( island)
The issue of fighting the Cross Guild before or after Blackbeard could easily be solved by having the Cross Guild go first, but having Shiryu interfere with the Mihawk-Zoro face-off. If Shiryu were to injure one during the fight (likely Mihawk for plot reasons), that would set up Zoro vs. Shiryu while also demonstrating just how dangerous Shiryu is. Zoro vs. Mihawk for the title would then come after the war (and after both have fully recovered). That would allow for an audience (the Straw Hats and other war survivors) which would give the duel the fanfare it deserves. It's not often the title of "World's Strongest" is up for grabs, and it doesn't seem right that it would happen in the middle of a random, chaotic battlefield without any witnesses. Plus, it would allow Zoro to see just how much further he has to go, while also allowing him to learn something that would help against Shiryu. Then, he gets his final power up against Shiryu which later allows him to fight Mihawk on equal footing.
There is a thing folks do at poetry slams where you snap your fingers to show something resonated with you on a deep level. I literally did that when you mentioned that Zoro would be able to sense Shiryu in the rain. I know in my heart that will be exactly where that fight goes because that is EXACTLY the amount of subtlety and theme representation Oda would bring to that fight. Phenomenal spoiler territory to be sure xD
I think that the suke suke fruit isn't only making the user invisible, but also indetectable, unlike Queen. The suke suke fruit isn't the invisibility fruit but the disappearance fruit, making the user's aura and body image completly vanish. That could explain why someone as experimented as Doflamingo couldn't detect Absalom and Moria fleeing. The awakening of this fruit could also lead to making the entire environment disappear, possibly controlling what can and cannot be seen and detected in a limited area around him, his opponents would lose their mind. Also I don't see him having a diamound sword, but more likely having one of the 12 supreme grade swords. He was Magellan's equal, a man that Jinbei, Iwankov and Crocodile didn't want to and couldn't even fight, and the main reason behind Impel down's reputation. This dude was already a monster probably comparable to Marco or someone like that even before eating his DF, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that he was the possessor of a supreme blade. I also think that he willingly let his blade control a part of him, as opposed to respected swordsmen like Zoro or Mihawk who always keep the control on their weapon, making him even more bloodthirsty and relentless, only accentuating his already twisted personality. His blade could make him even stronger as the opponent is bleeding. When it comes to his epithet, I think that it could lead to 3 things. 1) He have a form of advanced conquror's making him able to summon rain, like how Ace's conqueror's haki was able to warm the environment. He could use the rain noise to hide the sound of his footsteps, wich in addition to his fruit's awakening could make him totally undetectable. 2) It could be linked to his swordstyle, making a ton of slashes similar to raindrops falling on the enemy. 3) it could be linked to his bloodthirst and the incredible amount of blood he can drain from his enemy, making it look like a blood rain.
We recently saw Zoro only finishing off a worthy opponent when Sanji taunted him for holding up the crew. I've been wondering ever since the timeskip if Zoro had some special power waiting in his left eye that he's just been holding back until he really needs it
Shanks can kill observation Haki. Invisable Fruit can likely make Observation Haki useless. And Mihawk wants to fight someone stronger than Shanks so Zoro will have to be on a level where he has the skills to fight while not caring about observation
Swordsman always have the best observation haki because they need to cut anything no matter how fast or small, by sensing. Same with Snipers they need to have the highest Observation haki as well to see far distances. I don’t think Zoro is gonna struggle to see Shiryu because after fighting Mihawk, his observation haki needs to be relative to his to beat him, and Mihawk has possibly the best observation haki in the story. It’s just really not likely for Zoro to struggle to see Shiryu after beating Mihawk. It’s just a funny/fun character gag. This gag is impacting his fight after he fights Lucci, hence why Jinbei is sent to get Zoro, but the gag isn’t going to interfere with their fight itself. Sanji is the only one who has a character gag that affects his fights, but even that will be countered when the crew gets a lot stronger in the future, Sanji will hand those villains to Robin or Nami like he did in Wano. Maybe Vivi and Yamato too by the end of the story.
to be honest i think hes going to make kitetsu III the black blade if any, wado was never truly his and he only took it to fulfil his promise to kuina. The theory someone else had a while ago was that after he beat mihawk and claimed the title of strongest swordsman, he would lay the sword to rest with kuina and honestly i like that theory way more, especially since it opens him up to gathering all 3 kitetsus at some point and being the king of hell with the three matching cursed swords
You make an interesting point that the Five Elders will be the final boss, because of their conncection to hell, but after what Catarina did in the latest chapter, I actually think that Blackbeard plans to somehow to steal Imu's devil fruit. Imu's devil fruit is most likely a Mythical Zoan type, and while it COULD just be The Devil (with his pointed tail), I actually think it's a Dragon devil fruit, but a European one (Kaido's is after all a Fish type model, not a dragon). Lucifer/Satan is sometimes referred to as The Great Red Dragon in the Bible, and I can imagine Imu's hybrid form to look like a stereotypical red devil. Then Blackbeard would have one of each fruit type, and thematically become the ruler of hell. A Prince of Darkness, even.

Shiryu vs Mihawk feels inevitable because Hawekeyes vs The Invisible Man just kinda sets itself up. If that doesn't happen I think Zoro's swords will turn black one at a time. Wado Ichimonji turns black against Mihawk, Enma turns black against Shiryu, and Koutetsu turns black against Saint Nusjuro. There was another guy who broke out of Impel Down before Luffy tho ~
I mean Mihawk was rivals with Shanks who seems like he learned to cancel ovservation Haki to deal with Mihawj and going invisable might do the same thing to most people
@mrbubbles6468 , that same Shanks was scarred by DFless Teach, Shanks obviously got stronger later by learning future sight. Sanji can dodge Katakuri but needed super speed to counter Invisible Queen, observation haki alone isn't enough vs Invisibility.

I would honestly be kinda pissed if the voice of all things turn out to just be observation haki... cause that would basically undermine robins entire role on the crew. Roger could not read the poneglyphs but he could understand them through the VoT, now if that turns out to just be haki, not advanced btw since zoro got it in alabasta, then anyone could essentially do what robin does. And since that's her entire dream, to read them all, it would destroy her character?
What if they are fighting in the rain, but the sword is some how turning the rain into diamond shards that are cutting Zoro as they rain down on him? It's very anime.
I think the battle with the Blackbeard pirates will happen as the last fight before they find the one piece as Blackbeard represents the ultimate pirate rival and a mirror to Shanks, the one who inherited the will of Roger. Plus, Imu’s story is about the opposite of joyboy while BB is the Rocks, the possible opposite of Roger and previous strongest pirate until Roger took the throne. I don’t think we can confront Imu until we learn Joyboy’s secret at laugh tale while collision with Blackbeard is likely to happen on our way to reach the same peak Roger reached. I think Luffy is naturally going to go farther than Roger as King of Pirates is just a stepping stone for his dream so the confrontation with the world government and going even further would happen after we find the one piece
Theory: Shiryu can turn intangible to attacks. Example: If Kizaru is made of light and he attacks invisible Shiryu, the light would just go through him. So it's possible that Shiryu could enable that ability against attacks slower or faster than light.
Okay. What if Zoro lost that eye training with Mihawk and he loses his right eye again to Mihawk in their final duel..! Then Zoro will be forced to unlock that observation haki or DIE.
I think the lesson will be taken in a different direction. Not just cutting nothing and everything with the same blade, but with the same strike. Mihawk can probably already cut everything, so Zoro will need to do that to surpass him, but it means he's not actually better than Mihawk - just his equal. I don't think Mihawk can cut everything and nothing with a single strike; I think this is why he travels alone and has chosen allies who will not get hurt by his strikes. I think Shiryu will use hostages alongside his invisibility and Zoro will have to know how to strike only what he wants to - to only strike Shiryu. One of the duties of the King of Hell is to sort souls in to good and evil, Zoro may well learn from Brook how to cut souls themselves, and how to cut only the evil souls like Shiryu.
People underestimate Invisibility too much by thinking observation haki can sense everything. Queen wasn't sensed by Sanji when he slapped that Geisha, Sanji found out later and when Queen turned invisible again Sanji had to use super speed couldn't simply sense him.
Future sight hard counters bud 💀 that's the whole point of Advanced Observation haki, to be able to sense intangible things, like feelings in coby's case..
I think Sanji will fight him. Invisibility fruit. Besides, Sanji is used to fighting a better swordsman than Shiryu. I don't think there is even a doubt that Zoro is better than him. I don't think he could beat King. He is a famous swordsman in a lower level.

I love the idea that Zoro will fight Shiryu and Sanji will fight Pizzaro, their type of opponents being switched. Zoro having to fight the trickey guy whose ability isnt a directly helping a a brawl. And Sanji fighting a a literal large scale battle with an opponent changing the landscape itself.

I think Sanji VS Aokiji will happen. Ifrit Jambe vs Ice is too fitting and Aokiji is a Womanizer when first introduced. I think it makes sense for Shiryu’s epithet “of the rain” to not be tied to his fighting or style. It sounds like something he would do to make readers assume it is tied to his fighting style, only to flip the reality of what it is. He had the name before getting the ability. I think it alludes to something in his backstory or some horrific event he was apart of.

You ever thought that just like how zoro is originally from wano so is shiryu. The epithet “shiryu of the rain” is similar to a lot of epithets from wano. Hyogoro of the Flower, Raizo of the Mist, Kikunojo of the Lingering Snow etc. Kanjuro is known as evening shower which sort of relates to rain, perhaps he’s a kurozumi like Kanjuro.
20:06 I want to mention something. I found out that TUNA in their spinal cord fluid is. . . GREEN BLOOD. It could mean vegapink was probably using spinal cord fluid from FISHMEN. Fishmen might have a special ability that since they come from the sea, their spinal fluid can hold the genes of devil fruit without directly consuming the fruit. Dont forget how at one point in the story they were eating fishmen because they considered them fish. We also learned in the story from Kokoro in water 7 that when fishmen come and stand on land long enough, they start becoming and looking more HUMAN. 🧐 there can be a possibility that celestial dragons are actually decendants of fishmen. Notice how they hair makes them look like Whales in a fishbowl. Vegapunk could have been using spinal cord fluid from fishmen. Which connects to Saturn who probably ate fishmen like other celestial dragons did in the past and then discovered something special about their spinal cord fluid. We can relate the spinal cord fluid to how irl they use STEM cells to grow and recreate tissue and DNA. This could be the one piece equivalent of that.
This is a really cool idea but prolly won’t be the case because Oda likes to distance his writing from real world things like diseases and tragedies and the whole spinal fluid thing has been a pretty big conspiracy theory irl for a while now and I just can’t see Oda making such a blatant reference to something so touchy.

We were so hype to see Zoro finally open his closed eye and unlock something cool at a peak moment. After this, I can totally see flipping the idea on its head in that moment and instead Zoro closes his other eye. He like feels the breath of all things and can figure where Shiryu is.
Zoro closes his good eye, and opens the one with the scar on it; it looks like a blinded eye at first, but Zorro taps into the breath of all things and it suddenly becomes a hawkeye. Zorro can suddenly see everything - every raindrop, every tree and rock, Shiriu's sword, & Shiriu himself. Sight base not on sight or will power, but on that which connects all things in existence -thier breath and voice. For once, he can even tell the directions they are correctly.
Okay, that last part was unrealistic fanfic, but you get my point of how cool this sounds, right?

no shiryu won’t and he never will be, the strongest person zoro will fight is mihawk and that has never changed since that’s his dream and beating him will complete his dream.
I agree it will be great but the invisibility fruit is so overpowered that it doesn’t need to awaken; it’s like Caesar’s fruit and Magellan’s where they barely need to train haki and still are some of the most dangerous opponents ever, without awakening. Even Garp had trouble locating Shiryu which shows he is already top tier with literally only a fruit and a sword.
Let's say that the awakening of the clear-clear fruit allows the user to completely hide their presence, to a point where even observation haki can't detect them. In this scenario it could be interesting to see Zoro tap into the "Breath of All Things" again, as in Alabasta he said he could "hear" the voice of the steel in his blades and the steel in Daz Bones body. So maybe instead of Zoro sensing Shiryu, he feels the "breathing" of Shiryu's sword as it moves to strike.

Great video! It would be cool for Wado to turn into a black blade against Shiryu. I'm in the camp that Zoro v Mihawk comes after, so it would be cool to see Zoro go into that fight with one black blade with the other two changing against Mihawk.
I'm a believer in Hidden Island's theory that Mihawk is Shanks' former first mate. Following that theory, I would love to see the final conflict in the series be a Davey Back Fight over the One Piece with the following matchups that Hidden mentions in his video, if Mihawk somehow joins the Red Hair Pirates before then:

A thought that came up to me while I watched this is that for all the times Luffy lost to an opponent (perhaps even multiple times) I am half expecting the entire Strawhat Crew is going to lose their first go against the Blackbeard Pirates. This could necessitate Shanks and company to go save them. Notice that all 3 crews somewhat have the same structure.
It might also be fun to see all 3 groups in one big old mash-up… not sure how that would happen, but it would be fun!

Here’s my theory, he will fight Shiryu after being the Best Swordsman, but he will one shot him with a chapter-long monologue against himself.
I feel the Shiryu fight happens before the Mihawk fight, as Mihawk is his endgame. I think the closed eye will come into play where his working eye is useless and his "injured" eye will develop some sort of keen unique observation Haki. I dont think Oda would give him the same eye(s) as Mihawk but at the same time i cant help but wonder if its part of Mihawks training was to develop his observation to the extent he doesnt even need to see them and thats why his eye had been closed for so long, he has been training it all this time, the scar is just a misdirection.

I wonder if it's worth noting that Shiryu is often depicted with his right eye covered by his hat, paralleling Zoro having his left eye closed.
all throughout the story since the first chapter...the good guys at some point will be shown with a closed left eye and evil the right eye. I'm surprised people haven't pointed this out yet. it also happens when ppl mention the one piece sometimes. one of the first times you really notice it is Jaya which , go figure its an arc about a missing eye( island)
The issue of fighting the Cross Guild before or after Blackbeard could easily be solved by having the Cross Guild go first, but having Shiryu interfere with the Mihawk-Zoro face-off. If Shiryu were to injure one during the fight (likely Mihawk for plot reasons), that would set up Zoro vs. Shiryu while also demonstrating just how dangerous Shiryu is. Zoro vs. Mihawk for the title would then come after the war (and after both have fully recovered). That would allow for an audience (the Straw Hats and other war survivors) which would give the duel the fanfare it deserves. It's not often the title of "World's Strongest" is up for grabs, and it doesn't seem right that it would happen in the middle of a random, chaotic battlefield without any witnesses. Plus, it would allow Zoro to see just how much further he has to go, while also allowing him to learn something that would help against Shiryu. Then, he gets his final power up against Shiryu which later allows him to fight Mihawk on equal footing.
There is a thing folks do at poetry slams where you snap your fingers to show something resonated with you on a deep level. I literally did that when you mentioned that Zoro would be able to sense Shiryu in the rain. I know in my heart that will be exactly where that fight goes because that is EXACTLY the amount of subtlety and theme representation Oda would bring to that fight. Phenomenal spoiler territory to be sure xD
I think that the suke suke fruit isn't only making the user invisible, but also indetectable, unlike Queen. The suke suke fruit isn't the invisibility fruit but the disappearance fruit, making the user's aura and body image completly vanish. That could explain why someone as experimented as Doflamingo couldn't detect Absalom and Moria fleeing.
The awakening of this fruit could also lead to making the entire environment disappear, possibly controlling what can and cannot be seen and detected in a limited area around him, his opponents would lose their mind.
Also I don't see him having a diamound sword, but more likely having one of the 12 supreme grade swords. He was Magellan's equal, a man that Jinbei, Iwankov and Crocodile didn't want to and couldn't even fight, and the main reason behind Impel down's reputation.
This dude was already a monster probably comparable to Marco or someone like that even before eating his DF, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that he was the possessor of a supreme blade. I also think that he willingly let his blade control a part of him, as opposed to respected swordsmen like Zoro or Mihawk who always keep the control on their weapon, making him even more bloodthirsty and relentless, only accentuating his already twisted personality. His blade could make him even stronger as the opponent is bleeding.
When it comes to his epithet, I think that it could lead to 3 things.
1) He have a form of advanced conquror's making him able to summon rain, like how Ace's conqueror's haki was able to warm the environment. He could use the rain noise to hide the sound of his footsteps, wich in addition to his fruit's awakening could make him totally undetectable.
2) It could be linked to his swordstyle, making a ton of slashes similar to raindrops falling on the enemy.
3) it could be linked to his bloodthirst and the incredible amount of blood he can drain from his enemy, making it look like a blood rain.

Swordsman always have the best observation haki because they need to cut anything no matter how fast or small, by sensing. Same with Snipers they need to have the highest Observation haki as well to see far distances. I don’t think Zoro is gonna struggle to see Shiryu because after fighting Mihawk, his observation haki needs to be relative to his to beat him, and Mihawk has possibly the best observation haki in the story. It’s just really not likely for Zoro to struggle to see Shiryu after beating Mihawk. It’s just a funny/fun character gag. This gag is impacting his fight after he fights Lucci, hence why Jinbei is sent to get Zoro, but the gag isn’t going to interfere with their fight itself. Sanji is the only one who has a character gag that affects his fights, but even that will be countered when the crew gets a lot stronger in the future, Sanji will hand those villains to Robin or Nami like he did in Wano. Maybe Vivi and Yamato too by the end of the story.
to be honest i think hes going to make kitetsu III the black blade if any, wado was never truly his and he only took it to fulfil his promise to kuina. The theory someone else had a while ago was that after he beat mihawk and claimed the title of strongest swordsman, he would lay the sword to rest with kuina and honestly i like that theory way more, especially since it opens him up to gathering all 3 kitetsus at some point and being the king of hell with the three matching cursed swords

You make an interesting point that the Five Elders will be the final boss, because of their conncection to hell, but after what Catarina did in the latest chapter, I actually think that Blackbeard plans to somehow to steal Imu's devil fruit.
Imu's devil fruit is most likely a Mythical Zoan type, and while it COULD just be The Devil (with his pointed tail), I actually think it's a Dragon devil fruit, but a European one (Kaido's is after all a Fish type model, not a dragon). Lucifer/Satan is sometimes referred to as The Great Red Dragon in the Bible, and I can imagine Imu's hybrid form to look like a stereotypical red devil.
Then Blackbeard would have one of each fruit type, and thematically become the ruler of hell. A Prince of Darkness, even.

I think the battle with the Blackbeard pirates will happen as the last fight before they find the one piece as Blackbeard represents the ultimate pirate rival and a mirror to Shanks, the one who inherited the will of Roger. Plus, Imu’s story is about the opposite of joyboy while BB is the Rocks, the possible opposite of Roger and previous strongest pirate until Roger took the throne. I don’t think we can confront Imu until we learn Joyboy’s secret at laugh tale while collision with Blackbeard is likely to happen on our way to reach the same peak Roger reached. I think Luffy is naturally going to go farther than Roger as King of Pirates is just a stepping stone for his dream so the confrontation with the world government and going even further would happen after we find the one piece

I think the lesson will be taken in a different direction. Not just cutting nothing and everything with the same blade, but with the same strike. Mihawk can probably already cut everything, so Zoro will need to do that to surpass him, but it means he's not actually better than Mihawk - just his equal. I don't think Mihawk can cut everything and nothing with a single strike; I think this is why he travels alone and has chosen allies who will not get hurt by his strikes. I think Shiryu will use hostages alongside his invisibility and Zoro will have to know how to strike only what he wants to - to only strike Shiryu. People underestimate Invisibility too much by thinking observation haki can sense everything. Queen wasn't sensed by Sanji when he slapped that Geisha, Sanji found out later and when Queen turned invisible again Sanji had to use super speed couldn't simply sense him.
Future sight hard counters bud 💀 that's the whole point of Advanced Observation haki, to be able to sense intangible things, like feelings in coby's case..
I think Sanji will fight him. Invisibility fruit. Besides, Sanji is used to fighting a better swordsman than Shiryu. I don't think there is even a doubt that Zoro is better than him. I don't think he could beat King. He is a famous swordsman in a lower level.

it would be cool if zoro and mihawks fight was just in an old school dojo with the bamboo swords. So it literally is just a test of swordsmanship fundamentals

Not gone lie it would be dope if Shiryu awakening was akin to Guenael Lee from Bleach where he literally disappeared from existence until he attacked think of Zoro having to overcome not just invisibility but also remember your opponent
