New Orleans mayor's security detail sometimes outnumbered those policing an entire NOPD district

Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s office says all residents deserve to feel safe in their community. However, records show that on some days in 2022, Cantrell had more officers assigned to protect her than were on patrol for a 12-hour stretch in the NOPD’s Sixth District, which includes Central City, the Irish Channel, and the Garden District.

The city needs to reimbursed of all funds.Cantrell is showing more and more disregard for rules, guidelines and wants to do whatever she wants and that's why she don't deserve my vote anymore.I want her gone but whose going to replace her is my concern that'll work for the people and not have their own agenda........I think that's why they didn't get enough signatures............ I voted for her once never,never again..............

i think you might be right about the reason some who will not vote for her again are not positive about the recall effort. I feel strongly that she has abused her office & our tax money. But who would take over? Though surely there has to be someone capable & with a modecum of integrety in this well populated city.
