This was exactly the reason why I stopped going to the meetings and preaching. If you are the truth you can not err. You can not shun people for disagreeing with you and call them apostates, while saying that you might be wrong. And if you can read the Bible and make a faulty interpretation and still be closed to God, why can't I do the same, and why should I follow your lead?

Bible truth had not changed, so either before or after 1954 Jehovah's Witnesses were not following Bible truth. It was not God's Spirit that created this important discrepancy; it was the leaders of the organization. To be classified as a Jehovah's Witness, following truth was not important, following the incorrect teachings of men was. God is a God of truth (Ex 34:6). If this organization was not teaching truth, either before or after the 1950s, then it was not Spirit directed. Its members were not following God's truth, they were following the untruths of men.
Tim-after chatting with JW's for many years I found they have canned answers for the trinity, holy spirit, deity of Christ etc. Their scriptural refutations are weak but still obviously wrong. One thing they did not have much to say scripturally about was the doctrine of hell/ eternal punishment. In fact when raising this doctrine with them it caused them visible despair. There are so many scriptures about this, especially from the mouth of Jesus! When asked about the many verses about eternal punishment they had no real answer other than they felt that a loving God would not have eternal punishment. Tim-perhaps a JW video about this topic? It seems like a real weak point in their canned defense. If their faithful and discreet servant is wrong about this most important doctrine, perhaps JW followers will run to the truth!

The problem with WT and most of Christianity is that ALL things were fulfilled in the first century including the second coming. He came back just like he promised the 1st century faithful ones. Example "truly tell you some of you standing here ( will still be alive when the son of man comes in his kingdom with all his angels"). Unless anyone can show me there are some of the apostles still alive now or in the future then it is already done. The delusions WT is under is the same as many churches. All things were fulfilled and every generation since lives by faith that Christ rules already and always has . Then they will be set free from mans teachings.The Great Tribulation was about the destruction of Jerusalem, the Old Covenant, the law and the jewish system. In his own words it would never be repeated. The generation the apostles were in was the generation that did not pass away until all things were fulfilled. The Watchtower and other publications are just tools which encourage interest in the bible and discuss the possible fulfilment of things spoken about in scripture. Your point would only be valid if the Watchtower's governing body did not claim that God speaks exclusively through them. When a correction of belief is given, it is presented as something given from Jehovah through Jesus to the governing body. Right? So when they give a correction on a doctrine, then re-correct it later, which time was Jehovah leading them? They could not have been led both times. I agree with Charles Taze Russell that "'New light' never extinguishes older 'light,' but adds to it," (The Watch Tower, 2/1881, p. 23). The JWs expected the Messiah to come by 1975 as "a generation shall by no means pass" was interpreted as 60 years from the beginning of the last days which was late 1914, the beginning of WW1. Their problem is that the Messiah did come to Madison Square Garden in late 1974, across the river from their world headquarters, and they received him not. So they promise people that they can enter paradise on earth, but when you ask them why they don't enter themselves, they have no answer. One thing they did not have much to say scripturally about was the doctrine of hell/ eternal punishment. In fact when raising this doctrine with them it caused them visible despair. There are so many scriptures about this, especially from the mouth of Jesus! When asked about the many verses about eternal punishment they had no real answer other than they felt that a loving God would not have eternal punishment.
Tim-perhaps a JW video about this topic? It seems like a real weak point in their canned defense. If their faithful and discreet servant is wrong about this most important doctrine, perhaps JW followers will run to the truth!

The problem with WT and most of Christianity is that ALL things were fulfilled in the first century including the second coming. He came back just like he promised the 1st century faithful ones. Example "truly tell you some of you standing here ( will still be alive when the son of man comes in his kingdom with all his angels"). Unless anyone can show me there are some of the apostles still alive now or in the future then it is already done. The delusions WT is under is the same as many churches. All things were fulfilled and every generation since lives by faith that Christ rules already and always has . Then they will be set free from mans teachings.The Great Tribulation was about the destruction of Jerusalem, the Old Covenant, the law and the jewish system. In his own words it would never be repeated. The generation the apostles were in was the generation that did not pass away until all things were fulfilled. The Watchtower and other publications are just tools which encourage interest in the bible and discuss the possible fulfilment of things spoken about in scripture.
Rather than mix the truth with lies, what God's people have done is sort out the truth from the false, exposing centuries of lies and man made doctrines taught by the churches; such as the immortal soul and hellfire, for instance, which are not taught in the bible.

You can't accuse Jehovah's Witnesses of not being on the watch.

Your point would only be valid if the Watchtower's governing body did not claim that God speaks exclusively through them. When a correction of belief is given, it is presented as something given from Jehovah through Jesus to the governing body. Right? So when they give a correction on a doctrine, then re-correct it later, which time was Jehovah leading them? They could not have been led both times.
I agree with Charles Taze Russell that "'New light' never extinguishes older 'light,' but adds to it," (The Watch Tower, 2/1881, p. 23). The kind of things I am going to be talking about in part 2 and 3 are clearly in violation of this principle.

The Governing Body are NOT the faithful and discreet slave! I know who the faithful and discreet (wise) slave will be. He is "wisely" listening to all the grievances of God's people who have fallen away and even those who are enemies of true worship. He will put things right.
It is foretold that a messenger would be sent to God's people "before the great and awe-inspiring day of Jehovah." His message would lead to the cleansing (refinement) of the "sons of Levi" (Malachi 3:1-4). He is the so-called third "Elijah" who will restore true worship once and for all to the "land of Israel." (Mal. 4:5). As foretold by Christ, he will "restore all things" (Bible truths/justice) (Matt. 17:11). He is the Prophet "like Moses" who will be raised up during the "times of restoration of all things" in order to lead and deliver God's people as foretold in Acts and Deuteronomy:
*"Heaven must hold this one (Jesus) within itself until the times of restoration of all things of which God spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets of old. In fact, Moses said: ‘Jehovah your God will raise up for you from among your brothers a prophet like me. You must listen to whatever he tells you. Indeed, anyone who does not listen to that Prophet will be completely destroyed from among the people.’ And all the prophets from Samuel and those who followed him, as many as have spoken, have also plainly declared these days." (Acts **3:21**-24).*

The transfiguration foreshadowed this restoration and deliverance work by "Moses" and "Elijah."

The parable in Luke 12:42-46 parallels in vocabulary and story line with the story of Joseph. Potiphar was absent, during which time Joseph faithfully avoided his wife's advances, until "his master came to his house." (Genesis 39:16) Likewise the slave of Luke 12:43 is blessed when found doing the right thing when the "master on coming finds him doing so!" Similarly, the true "faithful" slave is not seduced by the (doctrines of) the whore of Babylon. In fact, he exposes her!
The modern-day Joseph counterpart has been busy building up a "store" of "grain" - (spiritual) food - in order to supply that food "at the proper time." You can find some of that food stored on this very channel. He will put things right regarding doctrine and justice. He is well aware of false doctrines currently being taught (including 1914, 1919, and Babylon the Great) and is listening to everyone's grievances. Understand that the Governing Body are NOT the faithful and discreet slave and they are NOT prophets. The GB are the "older men of Jerusalem." The JWs expected the Messiah to come by 1975 as "a generation shall by no means pass" was interpreted as 60 years from the beginning of the last days which was late 1914, the beginning of WW1. Their problem is that the Messiah did come to Madison Square Garden in late 1974, across the river from their world headquarters, and they received him not. So they promise people that they can enter paradise on earth, but when you ask them why they don't enter themselves, they have no answer. Partly that is because they do not understand why the original human ancestors did not stay with God.

The purpose of Colossians was to counter the false teaching of idolatry & demands of the Roman Emperors to be treated as "god" (same policy for all Roman colonial Empires). In Colossians 1:15-20 , which the emphasis was The Lord Yesus as "Eternal God" & had higher status than all creation / all creation in & by Him; if Yesus was a creation too so it was not in accordance with its original purpose.

Psalm 83:18 IF I remember right said that there's only one true God.
