I never married so I don’t have that problem, but I do get attached emotionally to a woman I’ve been involved with, many times to my detriment. I have a really difficult time detaching myself from a relationship that has gone sour because of guilt and sorrow over what could have been. Honestly, I don’t mind spending my money on a woman I’m attracted to because I enjoy beautiful women’s companionship more than anything really so that doesn’t bother me. One thing that massively changed my understanding of women ( reduced my trust of them ) is as a certified massage therapist the amount of women, very often physically attractive, working in a range of professions like airline pilots and airline stewardesses, attorneys, nurses, stay at home wives, etc, who indirectly and directly express sexual openness & interest during their massage sessions. I'd be careful with the idea that Men forgive more times than not. A Man with options is more likely to dump you and move on than deal with disrespect. If he doesn't have options, or confidence, that's probably why you cheated or thought you could cheat in the first place. But then the question becomes, why did you pick him in he first place if he wasn't your best option? Which leads to another point which is that many times, Women miscalculate or don't know what level of Man they can actually retain long term. I've seen first hand how a damaged famiily has affected the child. It is not a pretty sight - and I fear that won't get fixed anytime soon. Having kids is the same as having a 20 year sentence. If someone in a relationship cheats, it could never be amended period, because there will always be a level of distrust. What that forgiveness will cost you as a man in the long term just isn't sustainable. she can't love you, if she doesn't respect and desire you. The later two fade extremely quickly when she still attains your forgiveness in spite of her disrespect and its worsens when she sees us disrespecting ourselves by sacrificing our boundaries just to keep her. I think the reality is initial physical attraction fades over time. Unless there is an emotional connection to begin with, speaking for myself only, once the physical attraction goes away, it is very difficult to stay loyal. I think it is the same with women. I used to think we, as men, are more likely to cheat but my personal experience has been that women are more likely to cheat while in a relationship because she gets so many more temptations and offers from other men.

Honestly, I don’t mind spending my money on a woman I’m attracted to because I enjoy beautiful women’s companionship more than anything really so that doesn’t bother me. My 15 year relationship with my wife ended last year after she cheated on me. I don’t blame her, it was my fault really. I lost interest in her and the marriage. Looking back, I should never have married her and knew on my wedding day that it was a mistake. However, I just got caught up in it all and plodded through. I’m in a new relationship now with a woman who I wish I met 16 years ago. It’s a shame as shes too old to start a family and I feel I wasted my youth in a lonely marriage to someone I didn’t really love.

If you want a woman that’s not prone to cheating you can’t look for worldly women. Women with no strong religious bases. You can say what you want about religion but it keeps ppl in line for the most part. Whether you’re Muslim, Christian, Buddhist or Hindu …find a woman there. Not to say a religious woman never cheated but she is less likely to cheat than a woman you picked up at the club or one who has no spiritual compass.
Trust me …i did a lot of both types of women and the women with strong religious bases are better at keeping their legs closed.

If someone in a relationship cheats, it could never be amended period, because there will always be a level of distrust. Once a person demonstrates themselves untrustworthy, then that trust can never be restored. Some people still stay together after infidelity, but it could never be like it was before.
Thanks Sadia, I resonated with this 100%. Its Harsh and unfortunate but it doesn't make it any less true. What that forgiveness will cost you as a man in the long term just isn't sustainable. she can't love you, if she doesn't respect and desire you.
Respect and desire can only survive where there is a fear of consequence and loss. The later two fade extremely quickly when she still attains your forgiveness in spite of her disrespect and its worsens when she sees us disrespecting ourselves by sacrificing our boundaries just to keep her.
Our forgiveness can mask our pain and disagreement and end up conveying that the magnitude of the offence was minor. which as you said, makes them forget the betrayal and just repeat the offence because they now deem it trivial.
It wasn't reversible at this point. It simply drives them to pursue that connection and safety with the other person. I know it hurts guys but that shouldn't be a cost we are willing to pay. Goodluck guys better and more genuine will find you again.

I've been amazed at how many women think that, after some falling out that involves her cheating or her dumping the guy, women think it's not necessarily over yet--that she may come back, that he's a rock and will be there for her if she realizes she made a mistake and should go back to him after she realizes the upgrade has in turn dumped her, or she can't find an upgrade as easily as she had thought. They seem to overestimate the tolerance that seven times as much testosterone will have for drama.
