To be a Malaysian please read Malaysian Constituition.
As a Malaysian there is national pillars:-
    1. Believe in God.
    2. Loyal to King and Country.
    3. Supremacy of Constituition.
    4. Rule of Law.
    5. Decency and Politeness.

That why the elites does not want to know their plan. They prefers to take outsiders or foreigner to help them in any campaign. Like Brittish done it previously, they bring elite Chinese to do their dirty job. They divide and rule the citizen, lastly if any fuckup they blame it to the chinese or foreigner. They will keep lying and spin to survive as a weapon. I will like to say that it is like a dynamic battle ground that keep shifting their topology dynamically. If everybody already know what already happens they will change their tactics for element of surprise. That is what POLITICS all about.

Essentially the Malaysian Malays are Nusantara creeds of South East Asia.
They should have great confidence and appreciation of their great way of life, cultures, indigenous beliefs systems, traditions, history, ancestral heritage and civilization.
They should not simply embrace other alien influences & practices from other parts of the World, and alienate what is very own theirs. Long live the Malays of the Nusantara!

Melaka was colonized for more than 500 hundred years followed by the Peninsular by the British. Hundreds of years of colonization deliberately sent the Malays to inland areas so that they could dominate the economy by bringing in foreign labor and controlling the urban areas. So what is the meaning of Merdeka if the economic power of the Malays is not restored. It doesn't happen overnight or through 1-3 generations but at least a decade. If non-Malays do not understand what independence means for Malays, then no wonder they feel they are not citizens. EVEN THE CONSTITUTION OF MALAYSIA gives equal rights to non-Malays to practice their native language, culture and religion. The Chinese and Indians were also given the right to establish schools using their mother tongue. If they feel that the merit and quota system is an obstacle, how can they live happily and inherit the wealth resulting from the British liberalization of their race. Maybe in their minds that the economy and mind of the Malays should be colonized and give freedom and rights only to their race. But does the country of origin practice the justice system as in China or India?

It was actually Abrahanism religion, sometines mixed with the local influences. In a way, there might be some influences of hinduism in some aspects due to the inter-mingling of the society back then.
But, since the arrival of Islam brought by the muslim scholars and representatives of the prophet pbuh, during that time, the teaching of true Islam had been taking over gradually and surely.
Now, the little influences that originated from other religion or cultures had been slowly and surely eroding as more knowledge about true islam is being embraced and practised.
