We Malaysian had some issues with Africans earlier on due to many criminal cases. Some came on student visas but ended up doing vice activities, such as dealing with drugs and being scammers. Malaysian too feel intimidated when there are gatherings of Africans being overly loud & being drunk. Fortunately, things and perception are getting better, with stricter control on visas issued, and stringent control on vices activities. In general Malaysians are welcoming lot, as we are an open society for centuries. 😊

It is good news to hear that you have not had any bad experiences here, I hope it will be the same in all the coming countries you would like to visit💙💙.
I think Malaysian are quite open and generally educated and informed. Many has travelled abroad and exposed to various races not only in Malaysia but abroad. Malay Muslim are not that racist as the teaching abhor racism and Muslims are multiracial, so coloured are non issue. Sometimes visitors cannot differentiate millions of foreign workers and tourists to locals and they assume it as Malaysian. Sometimes these foreigners involved in negative behaviour thus giving a bad image to the country.
I agree with you on everything you mentioned. Also, the diversity that Malaysia enjoys sometimes has negative aspects. For example, as you mentioned, foreigners sometimes behave badly while others do not recognize that this is not Malaysian. Thanks for being here 💜💜
We in Malaysia don't judge people from their colors. We don't care whether you are black, white, red and whatsoever. Most importantly is the attitude matters so long you respect our culture, laws and behave like outsiders. Previously there have been a few cases involving the African nationals in money laundering, crimes and causes uneasiness in the neighborhood they lived. So what you need to do is understand the culture and respect our sensitivities. By doing so the negative perceptions will be removed from the African crime tags or any other bad behaviours.
I strongly agree with you. All those concepts that were built on the basis of what some Africans did here in the past will change with time, and with respect for culture, respect for the population, and work to develop themselves and contribute to the development of Malaysian society. Nice to hear you 💜💜.
@ I have heard that so many times. Bad experience with one particular race and they love to generalize to justify and condone racism, why? because they are ashamed that it is happening in Malaysia and perpertrated by their own kind but we start generalizing them, they go all ape on us.
Malaysia is a multi cultural country Malay, Chinese, India and other ethnic group. We are normal with foreigners because Malaysia have many International University where many foreign student study in Malaysia..
Basically, Malaysian quite ok and nice to any foriegners, provided that foriegner does not do any bad manners or impolite actions. Malaysians hate impolite persons, harsh manner and not respect local compatriots. I’m apologise for any bad experiences that any of you had gone thru, but all I can say that would because of the bad exprieces they may encountered previously, so it became a stigma and bad perception in thier head and tend to generalize it.
I agree with what you wrote. Malaysians are very nice and kind. If a foreigner is committed and polite, he will only see goodness from Malaysians. Thanks for being here💜💜
1. Profiling : it's kinda "normal" & it happened even to a locals customers. But it getting less n less nowadays. 2. Racism / discrimination especially towards african. You guys should be aware of big scandal issues about "Nigerian scammers" & criminals ( drugs / human trafficking ) decades ago. The generalisation happened all around the world, eg : the Muslim always generalized as a terrorist. It won't happen to any Japanese at all. 3. @@inmalaysiaa Everything is politics and business here in Malaysia 😂 What I mean is, generally we don't have racism issue, but we have political and business issues regarding races in Malaysia. We don't really care about people's skin colors, cultures, religions, ect..but we do care if any races started to dominate in politics and business. It is all about status quo.
Malaysians are so good, lived there for two years (2019-2021). First traveled there in 2014. Generally a good experience. It's the government that's messed up. The system is anti-immigrant in general, unless you're white.
Immigrants bring a lot of social problems to our country too....that adds to another problem that our country already has...it is not easy to deal with immigrants from various different countries with different kind of attitudes and education background..

So it's really depends. But most of them very hard to stay longer no matter what race and country.
Fun fact, the indigenous of Malaysia called negritos/ Senoi/ semang are Black with afro hair😅 they’re related to Indigenous from Australia and Papuans people , and many of Malays descends from these people
Some selling fashion shops do assign their workers to follow and attend to every customer, to help the customer personally. Every customer they follow, not just follow any particular colour. But, i don't like that kind of service too, i walk away from the shop.
being a foreigner/black in Malaysia is a rollercoaster if you do not respect their culture or break their rules but in general, you get what you deserve in Malaysia depending on your attitude and the reason that brought you.
One man commented at abt 12.40 in the Vid that he found ppl in area where "low-educated ppl live" .. yeah I think he meant pedalaman, ppl stared at him as though he was from another planet. You need to understand, it has nothing to do with education. It's the bonding among the ppl. They know each other well, so when outsiders come to their place, they wld stare, even at Malaysians esp Malaysians from the cities. When my family moved to live in a village, it took us months before being accepted (and not stared at) by the Villagers. I'm a Malay by the way.
I strongly agree with you. Humans, by nature, do not like change. They want to see the same faces and often prefer to stay in the same area. Yes, perhaps this is the reason why some people are surprised when they see a person from another geography far away from them. nice to hear u 🌸🤍
The first time I interacted a lot with Black people was when I was studying for my degree at university. Although my faculty didn't have many foreign students from black people, we had many lecturers from Africa who were experts in Arabic language, Quran, and Hadith. One of my lecturers had also married a local Malay woman from Kelantan. I can say that the level of proficiency in the Malay language by these African lecturers is very good and almost sounds like locals. I hope the rest of you also have a good time and experiences here, and may you meet good acquaintances.
What wonderful stories U had wrote, I hope they are repeated constantly, and that you would just see goodness, kindness and benefit from African foreigners. Yes, you deserve that, frankly. You are very kind people.
Dunno, there's a lot of african people around my hometown since its near with a university. They always go to the masjid and surau here. I see no problem at all with them. Also, they smell really nice.
In my township, there are many Africans who abuse their tourist visa. When asked, they say that they are students. It does not make sense because in my township there are no institutions of higher learning. And as students they can't afford to travel to campuses of higher learning around Klang Valley due to traffic jams if they are to commute from this township.
Those who stared at you and took pictures of you are probably not Malaysians. Malaysians generally don't really care about these things. The salespersons who followed you -- this is not really because you're black. Some salesperson are weird like that. I am a local yet I've experienced that several times in my lifetime, especially Chinese salesperson for some unknown reasons.
Visa to MY from Africa has been tightened up. Many years ago, Africans were notorious with gangs stealing and in criminal activity. Time had changed. AT PRESENT Malaysia is happy for Blacks to come an enjoy learning at our universities and life here. This year Black Students will be offered post education visa for up to 5 years in the high tech arena. WELCOME. Be respectful, be friendly, have some fashion sense and study hard for your degree.

As a Malaysian, we don't say black people but Africans. We don't simply judge people before getting to know them. Personally, I feel that the interviewer and interviewee have an inferior complex. We do have Malaysian who are not used to Africans so they will be more reserved.

I met people from Chad, Sudan, Eritrea, Maurtinia, Somali, and Ethiopia, who studied in Malaysia universities. They all have enormous respect for their host country. It beyond belief why some people complain about other country where they expect a red carpet preferential treatment. One has always the choice to stay in one's homeland as a respectful individual. No country wants undesirable elements to reach their gates, period.
What you say is true. I strongly agree with you. People always tend to stay with those who are similar to them It is wonderful to read these nice lines you wrote. I feel happy to hear your opinion. Thank you 🤍😇
So what you are saying is that no one should criticize you just because they are in your country despite having negative experiences? You should know that you are not hosting them, rather they are paying the exorbitant fees to visit your land. Nothing is free, so the word host is irrelevant. Also, believe me when i tell you that most ppl who come from the 3rd world dont have much choice or they wouldn't come.
For your info, "Black" is a term for a race officially in USA, Canada, & UK. The term is not relevent to African-origin Africans. We just term the Africans as Africans. Not Black.
The shop keepers following has very little to do with discrimination, but more to do with assisting you to look for stuff you want to buy. I used to work at a retail store, and I approached customers all the time so they're likely to buy stuff If I help them look for it.
As a Malaysian, we don’t really fuss about skin colors-whether you’re black, white, yellow, brown, green, blue, or even pink. What truly matters to us is a person’s attitude. We’re kind of like color-blind when it comes to that, but we pay attention to how someone behaves. Now, here’s the thing: there’s this stereotype that black folks are always up to no good-assaulting, maybe even worse (grape/k!lling). Sure, there have been cases here in Malaysia involving black individuals. So, we’ve got to be cautious. But let’s be clear: we don’t discriminate. We know there are plenty of good people among the black community. 🤝
Shop workers following you is actually their customer service. You can just tell them that you’re just looking around and you would call them if you want anything. Most of the time they will leave you alone. Some will proceed to explain the products anyway lol.

Malaysian pharmacies keep a close tab on their patrons. Doesn't matter what your skin colour is, even locals are followed around to the point that it gets annoying. Many shops in malls are like that, too. Theft is not uncommon, so they do what they can to mitigate it.
Malaysians and Indonesians had some issues back in 1980s and 1990s....so some are a bit nervous and too careful...you just need to be courteous and respect their culture and religion and soon they will treat you like family.
I get similar negative experiences in the USA as an African American woman. I’ve lived here all my life. People will sometimes follow me or my brothers in stores, even a museum once. They may ask me to empty my shopping bag after checking out to be sure everything was actually paid for. My father, brothers and husband got pulled over countless times so the cops can check if they have drugs. Even as pedestrians or bikers. Good content. In 2014, I visited Malaysia & I had a good time in KL & Penang & the people were friendly & they never gave me problems wherever I went
Nice to hear that, Malaysian's are so kind
We Malaysian had some issues with Africans earlier on due to many criminal cases. Some came on student visas but ended up doing vice activities, such as dealing with drugs and being scammers.
Malaysian too feel intimidated when there are gatherings of Africans being overly loud & being drunk.
Fortunately, things and perception are getting better, with stricter control on visas issued, and stringent control on vices activities.
In general Malaysians are welcoming lot, as we are an open society for centuries. 😊
Your words are wonderful and contain many facts, and regarding the Malaysian people, you are truly wonderful. We wish you more growth and prosperity.

THATS TRUE
So is only African that are loud, scannas and drugs dealers? Well that said alot about some of you Malaysian on your view on African people in your country. I leave in the uk and I can tell you that the master of scams or drugs dealers are not black or African. I'm sure in Malaysia too there are other countries which are doing drugs or scams but black is seems easy targets. Is a shame.

Hey what's your Instagram if you don't mind. I'm Malaysian btw 😊
Thanks for being here 💜💜
@@inmalaysiaa ...A lot Indonesian, Nepalis, Bangladeshi, Chinese, Paskistani, Ronghiya@Burmese, Indian, Filipino in Malaysia bro.
Lmao, they are actually racist...

Diversity is what distinguishes Malaysia, as well as many international universities, as u had mentioned.

Glad to hear that
So why its hard for certain race to find jobs and rent a house?
Not true. Just read a comment from a Malaysian man that black women are bottom feeders. There is lots of racism in Malaysia.
Have u ever thought about the attitude u give to foreign nations
Basically, Malaysian quite ok and nice to any foriegners, provided that foriegner does not do any bad manners or impolite actions. Malaysians hate impolite persons, harsh manner and not respect local compatriots. I’m apologise for any bad experiences that any of you had gone thru, but all I can say that would because of the bad exprieces they may encountered previously, so it became a stigma and bad perception in thier head and tend to generalize it.
I agree with what you wrote. Malaysians are very nice and kind. If a foreigner is committed and polite, he will only see goodness from Malaysians.

3. Every misconceptions / bad assumption reduced by your attitude and manners towards local. People always judge you by your actions.

We Malaysians don't care about color because we are also multi-colored. BUT we do judge people based on our interaction experience and mainly their attitude. Me, myself have had lots of bad experiences with Africans & Nigeria compared to others. Sorry to say but it is the truth especially when they were in groups...
Malaysia is an ex-British colony, so we have sympathy for anyone who have the same experience. If anyone want to portray us bad with irrelevant issues, they're wrong. Because we don't have that superior race mentality. Yes, there are issues between races in Malaysia, but it never about superiority over others, it is more about politics and business, if you get what I mean. It only been 67 years after independence, Malaysia going through similar if not the same issues as all other ex-British colonial countries in politics, economy and social. Malaysia is quite lucky not to fall down badly like some others...
Your statement is wonderful, but I did not understand it all. It seems that you have a deep insight into politics, and I do not understand politics, but I will try to review your statement. I also hope that others who will read this comment will understand you 😊😇

@@inmalaysiaa Everything is politics and business here in Malaysia 😂
What I mean is, generally we don't have racism issue, but we have political and business issues regarding races in Malaysia. Malaysians are so good, lived there for two years (2019-2021). First traveled there in 2014. Generally a good experience. It's the government that's messed up. The system is anti-immigrant in general, unless you're white.

being a foreigner/black in Malaysia is a rollercoaster if you do not respect their culture or break their rules but in general, you get what you deserve in Malaysia depending on your attitude and the reason that brought you.
Yes I agree with you, most people will treat you the same way you treat them 😊
One man commented at abt 12.40 in the Vid that he found ppl in area where "low-educated ppl live" .. yeah I think he meant pedalaman, ppl stared at him as though he was from another planet.

In my township, there are many Africans who abuse their tourist visa. When asked, they say that they are students. It does not make sense because in my township there are no institutions of higher learning. And as students they can't afford to travel to campuses of higher learning around Klang Valley due to traffic jams if they are to commute from this township.

People always tend to stay with those who are similar to them

Most Malaysians are good, in my experience. You are wonderful. Your country is beautiful. I wish it more growth and development.🤍😇
Malaysians do not judge a black person by their skin colour, but the way they carry themselves.😇 They expect Local to approach and being friendly with them instead of them approaching and being nice the local. 🤔 Bad experiences Malaysian had with Nigerians and their scams, more than 20 years ago, had made Malaysians a bit apprehensive with people from Africa😢
You are right, and I sincerely apologize on behalf of my fellow Africans, I hope it will be reformed by future generations.
It's very cool to hear Your POv 😊🎉🎉🎉
we dont really care if you are black or not, they are even blacker people in Malaysia than African, our aborigine tribes look exactly like black African and some of the south Indian in Malaysia are even darker than most African. We treated people based on their action. But i admitted that most Malaysian especially rural Malaysian didn't know much about Africa other than what they watch on TV news and Hollywood movies so their perception of black or African as a whole were based on that. But mostly they just dont care, they might stare becasue its not common to see African in Malaysia but that's most of it. They have no malice feeling towards anyone as lomg as you behave.
Your words are wonderful and contain many facts, and regarding the Malaysian people, you are truly wonderful. We wish you more growth and prosperity.
Glad to hear your Pov 🤍😇
I like the honesty
because U are honest too.
nice to hear u 🌸🌸🌸🤍🤍🤍
I love Malaysia
Me too
Black peoples? Huhuhu, in Malaysia we have white, brown, and black peoples that what really shaped our nation, yea2 white not as European white, Chinese skin colour we Malaysian considered as white lah, most Malaysian i can say as a Malay , they a bit shy and maybe communication barrier thats all, never when i see a black person and im thinking this people are bad no we don’t judge people by the colour of the skin.. , so black peoples, purple, yellow don’t really care about your colour, as long you are kind to us we will try to reciprocate 10X to you guys , so welcome to Malaysia 🇲🇾.
It is wonderful to read these nice lines you wrote. I feel happy to hear your opinion. Thank you 😊🎉🎉🎉
just need to add in some thoughts, 15-20 years ago, many of the blacks living here were shown in the media to have a bad reputations. and then many students came in from Africa to study here. this did improve the blacks reps a lot..
so that's it. have fun in malaysia🥰
It is wonderful to read these nice lines you wrote. I feel happy to hear your opinion. Thank you ☺️
the pink woman seems to be make sense!! malaysia boleh
haha, Thanks.
Nice to hear U 💜💜.
I think if they can speak local language They can mix well with the local. We do can speak english but we r more comfort talking our own language with each other. I mean some Malaysian people might like speaking english..but not much
I strongly agree with you, language is one of the most important factors that strengthen relationships and connect cultures 😊
Nice to see U typing your PoV😊
One of the lady said, some Malaysian good to her but when she want to get close, the person tried to avoid it. Actually many Malaysian is friendly and kind but many not socialising type of person, it is not because she is black or what ever race or it is not they doing kindness to be seen by other people.
Most Malaysians are good, in my experience. You are wonderful. Your country is beautiful. I wish it more growth and development.🤍😇
Malaysia panas lit lit. Thats why we dont surprise if people have darker skin. In fact school students skin tend to have dark skin when they are active in sports or other outdoor activity
wow, thanks for giving us this wonderful info.
Glad to see U writing your PoV
South Africa is similar.mixed cutures.
wow, really ?
Malaysian pharmacies keep a close tab on their patrons. Doesn't matter what your skin colour is, even locals are followed around to the point that it gets annoying. Many shops in malls are like that, too. Theft is not uncommon, so they do what they can to mitigate it.
wow, first time to hear this, highly appreciate the info that give to us, am Glad
Malaysians and Indonesians had some issues back in 1980s and 1990s....so some are a bit nervous and too careful...you just need to be courteous and respect their culture and religion and soon they will treat you like family.
Glad to hear your PoV and thanks for telling about the story.
Wish u happy life ❤ 😊.
My husband got pulled over while on a bike to get searched when he was around 9 years old. You can get racist behavior anywhere
I did not expect that black Americans also suffer from racism in this way!! It seems that racism is everywhere, it just differs from one country to another
Glad to hear your PoV and thanks for telling about your story.
Wish u happy life Queen ❤ 😊.
First no country in the world is perfect... right???
Malaysia is well-known as A multi-racial multi-etchnics multi-culturals country... Most Malaysians are English spoken, they re so used to live together harmoniously...
The cities re fairly modern metropolis ... Malaysians re friendly n pleasant... most don't care if u re black white or coloured... it's the visitor's attitude itself
' good or bad ' ll determine how the locals ll treat them😅
Very glad to hear your PoV, and thanks a lot for giving me this wonderful info about this pretty country Malaysia,
take care ❤ 😊
if i can post picture here.. I'm malay and my skin dark brown in office and pitch black under the sun.. if i work at Genting Highland, my skin turn light brown..
thanks for sharing that with us 😊
and btw, Most Malaysians are good, in my experience. You are wonderful. Your country is beautiful. I wish it more growth and development.🤍😇
@@inmalaysiaa most Malay ethnic here already have a bunch of mix race.. my family side is Indian, malay from mother and siamese, malay from father.. thats why the malay in Malaysia has wider skin tone from white to black..
The problem is ...when we are different from other, it is already in our mind that we are being different and blaming our sorroundings for bad experiences and segragate ourselves.
That's also a point, you seem right, it's nice to hear your opinion 😊
In defense of those malaysians that didn't interact with you guys, they might not be confident in their english skills hence the lack of interactions. I had a bunch of friends like that in my class in uni. Definitely not because you're black or Africans.
I completely agree with you, I have friends like this at university, they are very nice 🌸🌸🌸🤍🤍🤍
we just curios about your rasta hair and wan to take photo of it .. coz its so beautiful we dont care about yor color bcause alot of indian just look like you
Thanks,
U are very kind 😇😇🤍
