We Malaysian had some issues with Africans earlier on due to many criminal cases. Some came on student visas but ended up doing vice activities, such as dealing with drugs and being scammers.
Malaysian too feel intimidated when there are gatherings of Africans being overly loud & being drunk.
Fortunately, things and perception are getting better, with stricter control on visas issued, and stringent control on vices activities.

We in Malaysia don't judge people from their colors. We don't care whether you are black, white, red and whatsoever. Most importantly is the attitude matters so long you respect our culture, laws and behave like outsiders. Previously there have been a few cases involving the African nationals in money laundering, crimes and causes uneasiness in the neighborhood they lived. So what you need to do is understand the culture and respect our sensitivities. By doing so the negative perceptions will be removed from the African crime tags or any other bad behaviours.

Malay Muslim are not that racist as the teaching abhor racism and Muslims are multiracial, so coloured are non issue. Sometimes visitors cannot differentiate millions of foreign workers and tourists to locals and they assume it as Malaysian. Sometimes these foreigners involved in negative behaviour thus giving a bad image to the country.

Only a very few, they marry to local ladies and convert to Islam, and also depends what type of local lady he marry, the one I talk to, he marry to some local politicians' daughter, it's true love so happen her background a bit different. So it's really depends. But most of them very hard to stay longer no matter what race and country.

One man commented at abt 12.40 in the Vid that he found ppl in area where "low-educated ppl live" .. yeah I think he meant pedalaman, ppl stared at him as though he was from another planet. You need to understand, it has nothing to do with education. It's the bonding among the ppl. They know each other well, so when outsiders come to their place, they wld stare, even at Malaysians esp Malaysians from the cities. When my family moved to live in a village, it took us months before being accepted (and not stared at) by the Villagers. I'm a Malay by the way.

The first time I interacted a lot with Black people was when I was studying for my degree at university. Although my faculty didn't have many foreign students from black people, we had many lecturers from Africa who were experts in Arabic language, Quran, and Hadith. One of my lecturers had also married a local Malay woman from Kelantan. I can say that the level of proficiency in the Malay language by these African lecturers is very good and almost sounds like locals.

Malaysia is an ex-British colony, so we have sympathy for anyone who have the same experience. If anyone want to portray us bad with irrelevant issues, they're wrong. Because we don't have that superior race mentality. Yes, there are issues between races in Malaysia, but it never about superiority over others, it is more about politics and business, if you get what I mean. It only been 67 years after independence, Malaysia going through similar if not the same issues as all other ex-British colonial countries in politics, economy and social. Malaysia is quite lucky not to fall down badly like some others...

As a Malaysian, we don’t really fuss about skin colors-whether you’re black, white, yellow, brown, green, blue, or even pink. What truly matters to us is a person’s attitude. We’re kind of like color-blind when it comes to that, but we pay attention to how someone behaves.
Now, here’s the thing: there’s this stereotype that black folks are always up to no good-assaulting, maybe even worse (grape/k!lling). Sure, there have been cases here in Malaysia involving black individuals. So, we’ve got to be cautious. But let’s be clear: we don’t discriminate. We know there are plenty of good people among the black community. 🤝

Malaysian pharmacies keep a close tab on their patrons. Doesn't matter what your skin colour is, even locals are followed around to the point that it gets annoying. Many shops in malls are like that, too. Theft is not uncommon, so they do what they can to mitigate it.

we dont really care if you are black or not, they are even blacker people in Malaysia than African, our aborigine tribes look exactly like black African and some of the south Indian in Malaysia are even darker than most African. We treated people based on their action. But i admitted that most Malaysian especially rural Malaysian didn't know much about Africa other than what they watch on TV news and Hollywood movies so their perception of black or African as a whole were based on that. But mostly they just dont care, they might stare becasue its not common to see African in Malaysia but that's most of it. They have no malice feeling towards anyone as lomg as you behave.

Black peoples? Huhuhu, in Malaysia we have white, brown, and black peoples that what really shaped our nation, yea2 white not as European white, Chinese skin colour we Malaysian considered as white lah, most Malaysian i can say as a Malay , they a bit shy and maybe communication barrier thats all, never when i see a black person and im thinking this people are bad no we don’t judge people by the colour of the skin.. , so black peoples, purple, yellow don’t really care about your colour, as long you are kind to us we will try to reciprocate 10X to you guys , so welcome to Malaysia 🇲🇾.

I saw a lot of black people's content on TH-cam so i know why sisters and brothers would feel a bit unsafe and sensitive when it comes to other country and how they treated you as a black person. I hope that sisters and brothers wouldn't feel discriminated or going through racist treatment in here. *Especially* if you're already on your best behaviour and obey the law and observe the local culture like everyone else. 😊 Like many have said, it's not your skin color, but your *mannerism* and how you behave... I know for a fact that people in my society loves soft spoken and well mannered tourist/guest. 😊 We perceive them as a lovely person... So we treat them the way they treat others.. about the "loud" statement, African are not the only culture that is loud... Korean are like that too. 😅 We're pretty reserve on average and mind our own things so sometimes "loud" tourist get more attention on them.. 😂😅

In Malaysia the people who are not accepting people who does not look like them are very few. We call them "wala'un" for male and "wala'untit" for female.
Normally they are hardcore supporters of the opposition party. They don't support the current Unity Government.
