You can use a gift card or something of the sort to smooth out the Wrap onto the film to avoid bubbles

There are plastic cards made for applying decals that are perfect for this. They have a wedge on one side for angling as well.

There is an aerosol spray glue that you can use that works amazing. Do you have to protect your lungs and eyes too.
Set up somewhere outside and spray the card service with a nice thin even coat. Then you have to find a way to pick it up without getting the glue everywhere a pair of tweezers maybe? Hold it gently and bring it inside quickly and put it on your mat; then apply the top to the card.

Does the film quality have anything to do with the clarity of the prints? Mine look okay fresh put of the printer until they're on the foil backing and I can barely see them. If I use too much contrast and turn the brightness up or down, they come out blurry or way too dark to pass as a believable card.

Can you make a tutorial on how you made this in photoshop such as sizing, the grid placement, etc... or at least comment back how you sized it correctly to match the Pokemon card you place it on :)
the easiest way is to use photoshop and create a canvas that is 2.5 x 3.5 inches, standard card size. Then make sure the image fits in that canvas. Also print with photoshops since it will print the right size. I think gimp will work too.

It's Easy I made A Holo charizard Which is 99% close to real
Just make A transparent Print Of Your Card Then cut The Holographic paper To size of Just the image after Than Get a normal Glossy Paper And Stick Holographic paper On image and Glossy paper On The rest of the card and Stick the whole thing to a card you don't want

I imagine that the print factories have special printers with opaque white ink. First they print the opaque white "mask" on top of the holo film and then print the colors+black on top. This way they can be very selective as to which parts will have the holo effect and to what intensity. I learned this from screen printing. You need a white under-base if you are printing on dark fabrics (unless you're going for a vintage, washed-out quality).
Maybe some printshops have the printers to print white ink on transparent film.

You link to the "black" transparency sheets. It looks like you printed in black. Have you tried them in color? The "color" sheets are over twice the price. How much thicker than stock cards do your end up being?
Cool project. I've printed on "metallic" card stock and it doesn't look nearly as cool...nor as vibrant.
I printed them on color but to answer your question. They don't feel that much thicker. Transparency is pretty thin. also I put them in holders for display so it's not noticeable.

Print the card mirror image and use masking tape and tape the parts you dont want to be holo. Coat white spray paint on the transparent paper. Take the tape off and put it on the holographic

Instead of tape what adhesive would you recommend. I would guess it would need to be brushed lightly for best results.

Paint the area you don’t want Holo with some white acrylic paint.

hey man, I ordered the teckwrap stuff you linked in the description not reading the page too much, but upon receiving it, I quickly realised its not the same as what you are using here. I've been looking everywhere for it and having no luck. The stuff you linked says it comes in sheets (not a roll) and the adhesive side is not the holographic metallic colour making it useless for my project. :(
Any idea on what the actual stuff you're using is called or could you provide me with a link to the product in the video?

Exactly! This is not the same wrap. It's holographic on one side and the other side which is the stick side is not holographic

When i print on the transparency paper it prints way too light
a lot of yugioh orica makers use whiteout/paint to cover the areas where they want the print to be more prominent (basically covering the areas you won't see the holo shine through)

They should hold up well. Especially if you put them in sleeves.
Do you know if the Inkjet transparency film works with pigment based ink?
I would think the inkjet film may melt if you use it with a laser cause it uses heat for fusing.
@@KenVersus It's not a laser printer, its an inkjet printer, however it uses pigment based ink as opposed to dye based ink, which is used by most inject printers.
I have not used it before. But worth a try I guess. Worst case is the ink won't stick.

There are transparency for inkjets. Just make sure ones for your type of printer.

If you want to make this DO NOT buy the holographic vinyl pack. I got it and it isn’t what he used in the video and is only holographic on one side. Comes flat and not rolled like in the video.

You feel the quality you’d get from the printer that costs $445 is as good as it at least very close to the one you’re using?
Any modern color printer should be good enough. my laser printer isn’t the top of the line either.
