Hello lovely students! 2 important reminders today: 1. Consider turning captions OFF to avoid ruining the quiz! (It's a spelling test, so the captions will reveal the answers!) 2. Download the PDF for this lesson here 👉🏼 ewl.info/spelling-tips (it's a good one! Lots and lots of extra examples and exceptions!)
Dear lovely Lucy, while watching this video I realised you said "dedicate a little bit of time TO LEARNING". Instead, in that sentence I thought it was right to say "dedicate a little bit of time TO LEARN". Please help me by teaching in a new video why is it right to use "to learning" in that sentence instead of "to learn" also please mention examples for both in different sentences so we all may understand when to use each term in a sentence. Many thanks, I love your work and your willingness to help everyone to learn English. Gracias & ❤. Not sure if you’ve already explained this topic in other video. 😉
I wish the entire world got an A+ in your class, it might be a little better place to live, all I’ve seen is a bunch F’s walking around for way too long…thanks for adding your light to this world :)
I’m zero level my darling ,but I never stop learn and try to write even I knew it’s incorrect but I never look back just keep my head up and smile and proud myself is learned without a real teacher ,because in 80 and 90 it doesn’t have any free lessons app or E S L ,but thank anyway!!
Hi Lucy, My score was 13 out of 15. I only got two wrong answers from the words Weird and keys. I wasn't concentrating much on these words, otherwise I wouid have got 15 out of 15. I love spelling competitions. Lucy even in my school, I got the first place in the spelling competition. Because of you, I can speak English well Lucy. Thank you
Mrs, lucy can you make a video about the difference between wear, put and get dressed I'm Egyptian my name Is Youssef and I study English also I love it too much and I usually have fun when I watch your Videos and also I easily understand because your way in teaching Is VERY GOOD
Actually, computer based learning with spell checking facilities made it too easy, but your fabulous video had delivered the rules and exceptions. Thank you.
If a word contains an even number of letters, an odd number of vowels, and a prime number of consonants, then its plural must be formed by reversing the penultimate letter, and then adding a double 's' at the end. 😂😁
Bwt I'm sharing your lessons to my group chats on English language learning. Hope you don't mind. Big thanks in advance. Don't worry I'm also doing it for free not for a fee😅
Thank you for an interesting and a lovely lesson. I really love videos about pronunciation. I have only done mistake twice on the first exercise that i have to fulfil the words in n_ce and w_rd. I thought there were 'nice and word'. But then after revealing the answer, I understood better. 😊

Good morning Mrs. Lucy. Today's video is very interesting. But as a worker, I would like to get an explanation on getting a job in Europe from you. Would you please make the useful video of it? Greeting from North Tapanuli, Samosir island. Thanks in advance.
You forgot the rest of the "I" before "E" rule. It's "I" before "E", except after "C", or when sounded like "A" as in "Neighbor" and "Weigh". Or any of the other dozens of exceptions.

Turkish language has solid rules and those rules never change. Even any primary school kids can spell any word correctly even if they see it first time in their life. We never ask "spell your name please" for example. We don't have any single "irregular verb". We have 29 letters in our alphabet and all of them have solid sounds and never change. C is always C. A is always A. E is always E. 😂😂😂

Hottest English teacher on the planet!
Dear Lucy:The more i listen and and follow your lessons ,the more i can understand you more.
I have never seen such a good TH-cam channel, with so much free knowledge and enthusiasm. I really can feel how you burn for teaching English. ❤❤
Thank you, dear Lucy. For me it is actually easier just to learn the words by heart😂these rules make me more confused!
😂 right?
Mrs, lucy can you make a video about the difference between wear, put and get dressed I'm Egyptian my name Is Youssef and I study English also I love it too much and I usually have fun when I watch your Videos and also I easily understand because your way in teaching Is VERY GOOD
Hello Lucy! Thank you for your interesting lesson. I love your British accent and your passion for teaching 🤗
Actually, computer based learning with spell checking facilities made it too easy, but your fabulous video had delivered the rules and exceptions. Thank you.
Excellent Effective Expression/Explanation.
Praiseworthy Noteworthy Trustworthy.
After following this channel for so long, I suggest the spelling of English language ought be reinvented for good.
I love ur teaching
I think the suffix 'y' is also a consonant or can be said to be started with a constant then it is also a exception if you pay attention
French has also a difficult spelling. Thank you for always interesting lessons.
Mrs Lucy, I really enjoying your Lessons so much thank you .
Thank you so much teacher Lucy. I enjoyed your lesson and it was well explained. Appreciate your effort on this. Btw I got all correct
Have a good day .
Good Luck .
Excellent presentation.
Good morning Lucy. I got 15. Thank you for everything and I see you soon.
Thanks a million, Lucy! I really like your pronunciation! The most confusing spelling to me is 'dying' and 'dyeing' 🤔🤪
If a word contains an even number of letters, an odd number of vowels, and a prime number of consonants, then its plural must be formed by reversing the penultimate letter, and then adding a double 's' at the end. 😂😁
Dude...
That sums up pretty much the "rules" of English Grammer (Kelsey Editoon).
Cheers!
At least Chinese characters have logic and consistency. What she is describing is chaos.
😊😊😊😊😊
I am from Bangladesh 🇧🇩

Exceptions to exceptions means the rule is outlandishly contrived
Hi my prettiest teacher
,
Thank my teacher Lucy
14/15 I got wrong the niece one because I thought it was nice.
Thank you Lexie Lore
Thank you teacher
thank you Lucy
You left out the second half of the rule:
“I before E, except after C, or when sounding like A as in neighbor and weigh.”
great lesson....LOVE
15/15 without using a paper nor a pencil, all in my mind and in seconds.
I got all 15
You forgot the rest of the "I" before "E" rule. It's "I" before "E", except after "C", or when sounded like "A" as in "Neighbor" and "Weigh". Or any of the other dozens of exceptions.
Well, thanks a lot. Problem solved. (ei - ie ) always been confusing to me
