Pretty good! Just remember that you have to either join the two clauses (“I got a ticket” and “I got an appointment”) with a conjunction (in this case, “and, “as” or “because” would work), or separate them with a semi colon or a full stop (I’d recommend a semi colon, as the ideas go together).

In uni, I had a French teacher who was British (don’t get me started on non native speakers teaching languages), and she told our class off for using “get” too often. She said we were lazy for using “get” for everything.
