- Are you thinking of moving to Bradenton Florida. I've heard a lot of hype around it and I wanted to get some locals' perspectives. So, in this video asked Marcia Railton, of EXP Realty to show us around her hometown. She shares all her favorite places, and I ask her if the quality of life is really as great as they say? What are the pros and cons of living here?

People should definitely stop moving here. Acting like it’s a nice place to come and die with money meanwhile they destroy it for real residents like myself who hardly recognize it from when I was younger. My home is almost gone and it’s unaffordable but it’s a playground for people wanting the “beach life”
Biggest issue is the increase in housing costs. People get greedy because they see people want to move to the area. It drives long term residents out. I was actually pissed off the last time I was in Bradenton visiting family and I looked at housing prices. It should be illegal to have bought a house for $150k 5 years ago and then turn around and sell it for $450k to some numbskull from another state who heard Bradenton was a great place to live.
Don't. I just moved here and the traffic totally sucks. Takes an hour to go 5 miles. The beaches are very touristy. And the shells are super tiny compared to the beaches south where I'm from. Englewood and Venice WAY outweigh this area. And ALOT of homeless people thru town who gladly walk straight up to your car in traffic.
Agree traffic is horrible along with the long traffic lights!
Grew up in Bradenton, loved the rural community of my youth. Now I couldn't get away fast enough.

The Florida romantized in many something to sell videos does not exist anymore, if it actually ever did except in vacation brochures and real estate agent commercials. I was born and reared in Bradenton many more decades ago than I want to admit to; left it for boot camp and only went back occasionally for short vacation (leave) periods. The only thing that I have actually ever missed after all of the past years is: the sound of waves slapping against the beach sand, the cry of the seagulls, the swoop of the sand pipers in the shallow causeway and the salty smell of the Gulf of Mexico. I never realized how actually suffocatingly humid the florida peninsula was until I moved to northern Europe. It is an old cliché but certainly true 'you can never go home again' as I have personally discovered myself.
Can you talk some about the subdivisions being built by the race track?

Bradenton, where you have to wake up 6am just to drive 4 miles to Walmart, because you might drive behind 6 boomers who create traffic every day.

Nah, you can still find inexpensive manufactured homes, condos, townhomes, and villas. And if your willing to live away from the coast, affordable single-family homes too.

Have lived in Bradenton since 1978. Its a great place to live! Thanks for the video, Maybe mention the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates Spring Training, Many folks love their teams and follow them here for Spring Training.. You can even attend Spring Training practice for free at Pirate City out in East Bradenton.
We had a little footage but plan to come back during spring training. 😊

I lived in Bradenton for 3 months. A ton of traffic, and this video shows the nice 20% of town. In reality theres lots of rundown box store lots and lots of homeless people.
Wish you would show the downtown area of the cities you cover. More interested in what the main area of the city looks like than advertising for shops and restaurants.
