No Megatron, no Space Bridge, hardly any Optimus, and very little of Earth. That's a risk-taking approach, to be sure. But this is one of those times where the risk paid off ... big time. The part where the inhabitants see Omega Supreme for the first time ... it's a riot. Definitely of the strongest entries in the series.
My favorite episode was some really weird one where Rumble, Screamer and Thrust, I think, go to medieval times with Spike and some autobots. No Megatron or Oprimus, and it was a super fun ep still.
I remember being sad as a kid seeing the 84 toyline getting phased out of the cartoon but at the same time getting some above average episodes like this one. The plot here seems more mature in line with a Star Trek than Transformers.
His heroic behavior is in keeping with his toy bio. He is an extremely brave autobot and he was true to his character in this episode. And thrust’s toy bio says he is not too brave…also very apparent in this episode
One of the best episodes in the entire series: Great storyline, well-articulated character building and a new approach to coloring and animation (the temple and the native “elves”). Loved it. Thanks for the upload!

There are entire essays to be had about this episode alone. I like that Astrotrain gets a bit of spotlight; it does fit his original personality somewhat.
I've never seen this episode before -- AND IT WAS AWESOME! This was a great showcase for both Astrotrain and Jazz, as well as dealing with some pretty heady issues regarding religion. I just can't stress enough how great Scatman Crother's Jazz is in this episode. His delivery is hilarious, his character is almost super-heroic, and really shows why he's a fan favorite. Bonus points for the animation not being AKOM's sh***y barely animated mess.
The character interactions in this episode make me think Astrotrain's part was originally written for Megatron, but they had a new toy to promote. Especially since no way would Starscream take that kind of treatment from anybody but Megatron.
If it was the case then perhaps this maybe the reason for that episode where the two Triple Changes try to see who is the best leader.... neither wins and an all out brawl ensues.
Especially when Astrotrain was the one placing the crown on Starscream's head in the movie. It was odd seeing this episode on how Astrotrain acted towards Starscream.

I’ve always felt this episode would have been better if Starscream was the supreme god. Sure you argue that the episode before this, “A Decepticon Raider in King Arthur’s Court”, just explored that idea. And in “Triple Takeover” we see Astrotrain’s superiority complex shine even more along with Blitzwing’s. So in retrospect I guess my argument is a muke point.

Astrotrain got good character development this episode. But the MVP is Jazz this episode he the hero.

I’ve always felt this episode would have been better if Starscream was the supreme god. Sure you argue that the episode before this, “A Decepticon Raider in King Arthur’s Court”, just explored that idea. And in “Triple Takeover” we see Astrotrain’s superiority complex shine even more along with Blitzwing’s. So in retrospect I guess my argument is a muke point.
God=Lord Jesus Christ punishes idolaters later if those don't stop doing it , ending up in hell in the process afterwards. Along with the rest of the condemned that are unrepentant or disbelieving. It is the second death.
I know he's the bad guy, but Astrotrain is one of my favorites.
