I have an ungraded 1967 Kennedy half dollar (circulated). This video persuaded me that it's time to invest in a magnifier for closer inspection. Thank you.
I picked up 10 rolls today and there were at least 25 error coins in it, from cuds, die-cracks, grease strikes, a few dbl dies. I was so happy. No silver but this is one of the few hobbies that pays for itself. Love your channel man.
Picked up a few rolls of half dollars just for the heck of it. Opened them . There was 1 roll of just 64 . One roll of 64 and a couple of Franklin . One roll with 16 64”s , 1 liberty, and a 65 a 67 and a 68. The last roll had 19 liberty and one Morgan . Out of about 12 to 16 rolls. Somebody had written on the outside of some and for some odd reason cashed them in. I haven’t really collected since the 70s or early 80s. Reginald is my grandson and this is his tablet thing I’m on. But I guess I should look at some of the 70”s halves to see if they’re silver. I know when I first seen them I thought they were silver till I got my glasses on. A lot of these halves look brand new. I was thinking who ever turned them in must have collected them back when. But anyway I get change to save for the following Xmas but I hope the bug don’t hit me again. I’m to old now and I’ve never been able to sell them. Couldn’t bring myself to it. Wife and kids will get it I guess. But anyway that’s my story of the halves. Enjoy collecting and try metal detecting. Use to back in the 70”s.
I'm from India, I have a Washington quarter dollar of year 1980 which is a mule coin where error is where President image is printed upside down on the other side of the coin, kindly guide.
Hi Dustin love the videos I have a 64 Kennedy half dollar I would like you to take a look at .I can't find one like it on line .I like coins but not to versed in the hobby little bit of knowledge but no expert .if you would message me back I'll get some photos of you would be kind enough to take a look thankyou sir
The Denver Mint has been know to make pennies from different metals, I found a 1987 D penny that looks like it is zinc & it has so many errors on it like none of the coin collectors I know have ever seen, I just had my leg took off so it take some for me to post some pics of i, all of the numbers & letters are tribled & the reverse when you flip it the lincoln M is off by more 45%, wow I have found many errors but nothing like this, 3 1987's, 3 D's, letters that really stand out, I can't wait for someone who collects to see this, local dealers are scared of it, but they are small time dealers & would steal you blind. Glad I found your site!
I'm a coin & note collector. I never spend change, honestly it's cause I like finding mint errors even if they are circulated for my enjoyment over 23 years. I have a few thousand, mostly 1965 & older quarters (You know why) my oldest coin is a penny from 1912 the year the Titanic sank. I know no big deal but I have coins that are so messed up I can't find them in a book, like a bicentennial half dollar, I think 1972 or 74 I forgot what year they made the, sorry, its Kennedy in front the building on back (I have tons) but one has half the sentence missing under the building. I look real close I weighed it & I believe it is a mint errors. I didn't see scraping or acid burns or anything resembling it has been tampered with. I would love to share it with collectors. I can't find a trusting soul. I have tons of new rolls of coins in my bank box of all the gold dollars & state coins too. I think I have about enough coins even at face value I would be able to take a year off work. Lol. I have to unload some good or bad. Name is Corkie if the Gent putting out this video have question just Text me at 801-628-8934 when I talk to dealers they don't want me to get appraisals they want to trade a cleaning for my good stuff. So I never clean them just try keeping them untouched in slots, some are bunched up cause I can't keep up I have too many. I'm neglecting my love for looking at them. It's a nightmare I can't let go. Help.. lol
Total newbie here. I just went hunting for coins at banks. One credit union had only one coin, a 1961 Franklin HD!! I couldn't quit and continued. Next bank found a 2002 and a 2001 with the shield having blue in the stripes at if it was part of a set of some sort. 4 banks later, US Bank had $300 in virgin mint rolls she was grateful to get rid of. I promised not to bring them back. Excited to go CRH now.
Update. Found a 2010 NIFC with an S stamp, 1989 proof but skunked on the silver. Let the hunt continue!! Damn that Frankin was a nice find first day out! 2 banks lined up for pick up of boxes 2x a month, and 2 dump banks. Let the fun begin..........I'm hooked!!
@@titaniumcassowary im guessing that they buy, say... A roll of quarters for face value $10.00- look thru the coins for either pre 64 or mis-stamped coins... Then sell the rest back. Hope this helps.
Thanks for another GREAT video! I'm trying to broaden the spectrum of my coin hunting, lol! I keep everything, mostly searching pennies because I know more of the key dates, etc. I am overwhelmed with coins I need to search. I have set so many off to the side for later. All your videos help! I just need to find the time to go through everything. Thanks again!
Jackie Spangler when I coin search all my finds I put aside. I come back to them another day and look at them again to verify my original finds. it's amazing how much your eyes can play tricks on you after hours of coin searching.
Coin Opp Yes, this is true! Your eyes CAN play tricks on you! lol! I just have put so much to the side to look at later, I'm overwhelmed! I haven't looked at them at all! Yikes! I would really appreciate your help when I finally pick the 10 coins I want to have graded. You freaked me out when you told me I have to identify any errors. One would figure that they are the experts and would grade a coin based on condition or error. How would they not mention an error if they already know what to look for? This is silly! They should know! This set me back on submitting anything. Thanks for all you do! I hope I will be able to contribute to your channel soon because your time and knowledge are valuable. Thanks again ; )
I have already subscribed and pressed the 🔔 too and I always keep liking your videos and I do appreciate the way you do explain about the coins Thankyou very much Friend.
The US started to go from backed currency to Trash money. The FED bank had a large number of demands for cash. In order to cover the demands, they were authorized to change from a 1 on 1 value to up to 70 for 1 ratio. Of course our US currency went the same route, borrow up to 70 to 1 in bonds. So the mint began reducing the real money they were minting. I've heard that this system may fail and to combat that the real(demand) was kept for a few years. Once it felt like the system could handle the change, more and more of our currency change took the real value issues out of it. Ever really look at the wording on paper money?
I have a collection of Ps and Ds from 2002 to 2011 that are in uncirculated condition in round plastic holders. Some of these are hard to find in uncirculated condition. What do you think each one or, all of them could be worth? Thanks for your video and help
thanks man got #1 awesome :) was a tip from a friendly paper route patron over 25 years ago :) guess its time to take it out of the box of foreign coins .its in great shape though thanks .
I'm not America but I have a Kennedy 1964 half dollar. It's definitely not proof but it would polish up nicely. The hair is longer and the I checks out. What do ya reckon?
Help me. Help me I found a Roosevelt 1975 no s mint mark On reverse stamped in all letters in America on the top And on all bottom letters and continues into the E in the word one
I think my dad had it checked out in the 80s at silvertowne mint shop in Winchester Indiana and it was worth $700 back then I think maybe I'll just take it back to him
I was checking my coins and writing them down. Just yesterday I finished. Then today you told us about the 1964 Kennedy Half with accent hair and error. I ran to check mine Kennedy out. It was that coin. It looked as good if not better then the one you showed. How much will it cost and where can I get it appraised? Thank you, Bob
For small, hard to tell, DD varieties, what kind of jewelers loupe/magnifier is best? I just ordered a 10x Hastings, wondering if that is decent enough. Great video as always and very informative, thanks! :)
I have a 1966 in excellent condition Kennedy half with the accent hair and the I in Liberty the bottom of it is shorter than the rest of the Kennedy halves. Would it be worth anymore than its 40% silver content?
I have a used proof bicentennial Kenndy Half S mint mark. What is it worth? Also I have three 1967 that appear to be more silver than copper when looking at the edges. What about these?

I have one of the 1964 fixed hair half dollars. a local coin crook, errr, I mean dealer, offered me $40 for it. mine is loose, circulated, but in very good condition. I need to find a reputable trustworthy grader. it might be worth a couple bucks
I just got in a bank a 1964 D half dollar , 1946Quarter , 1954 quarter, and a 1959 D quarter how much are they worth ? all of them are in circulate conditions
I'm sure I have 1971 40%silver planchet error Kennedy half dollar. Found it in my car one day. It sounds different than other coins. Though I don't have another half dollar to compare it to. Sounds like the silver quarters I have though. When dropped into pocket the sound was so much different. Who should I have test and grade it
i have a quarter that has blackened, is there any way of lightening it without damaging it anymore. the reason i ask is i saved it years ago when i realized it had 2 metal bumps one on each side in different locations but no indent on the revers. and one bump even has lettering on it, so it is not molten metal dropped on it, it was stamped that way.
I have a 1971 silver Kennedy half dollar in my Kennedy half dollar collection should I send it off to be graded how much does it cost thank you Charlie trexler Las VEgas nv
I just recently bought 4 1/2 dollars(Kennedy's) that are suppose to be 40% silver, but none of them have any copper showing along the edge...all 4 of them are silver all the way through dates on them are 1967 - 69 ...they weigh in from 11.1 g to 11.8 g's....
I purchased a proof set 10 years ago from the Philadelphia mint and believe I have a 1964 Kennedy half dollar with extra hair and weird I. What should I do? where should I go to get it appraised?
I got Kennedy half dollor coins of 1967 and 1971. I heard in the video that in an auction 1971 Coins was sold for around $6000, What will be the price for that now?
if anyone can help me out with where to start that would be great! I have a variety of 1964-1969 half dollar coins. Where would be a good place to go and get their worth determined.
I have a 1972 kennedy half dollar, with no mint mark and on the backside of the coin, just under the right leg by the tail feathers of the eagle are the letters FG. Do you know of any significance, that these letters might represent?
Your local coin store is where I would start. Don't expect to get the kind of money the coins in this video get as they are all "Varieties" Thanks for watching.
Bonus Tip...Before you go and melt down old rare coins for the pennies worth of SILVER ask yourself... "Is there a hidden message" or is it just a pretty picture on a piece of silver ? As we see when we fold certain paper currency... (I'd be curious in the back story of your "Bonus Coin")
hey Dustin, thanks for your dedication in providing informative details in all your vidz! I decided to put all my Kennedy halves under the magnifier & damn, what do you know. the errors keep coming! DDO & DDR! 40%ers. thanks brother. should I post my finds in coin community?
I have this 1976 Eisenhower dollar with no mint that I can see anyway does it give it more value any estimate of how much? Also i have authenticity and its uncirculated
I found a, what appears to be silver, bicentennial Kennedy half dollar. How could I authenticate it without sending it to a grading company? Any tests I can do on it?
Rubi Henry that’s the year my grandma was born I would try to buy it. God knows how Important is to me. That’s all I would to connect to her. God bless have a great day
I found a all silver 1971 Kennedy half dollar encased in plastic with no markings while working I'm a landscaper I know it's from Philadelphia cause the ones made there had no markings I don't know what it's worth does anybody know anything please help 🙏
I came across a 1895 Indian head cent , on the obverse side instead of having the wreath it has a kind of flower. can you tell me if you have seen this before?
If the error planchet is 40% silver, will their be no brownish stripe... or will it still have some sort of stripe on the rim, just different than the orangish color..???
Just looked through first box of half dollars. I noticed the "D" on the 1776-1996 is not always stamped in same exact location.. I noticed the "D" on some coins are very close to the neckline, while on others it is further away. Same appears on the 1989-D. Is this normal and nothing to be saving?
Okay, I have another question... (can you tell I am new at this), I have a Kennedy half dollar, circa 1977, with no left foot on the I AND, no bottom leg to the right on trust. Have any ideas... should I take a picture and send it to you ?
I really enjoyed this video. I have a collection of coins given by family members and friends but where can I find the meaning of terms used such as ender and NIFC? If you could direct me I would be able to look at my coins with more meaning or understanding
On 40% silver can you see any copper on the edge? I have a 72(I believe) where the copper is a very thin copper line, compared to the other halves in that era.
Robert Lawson, I have a 1932 dollar coin with wrong print of TRVST instead of TRUST. Just found it today after I watched your video. Is it worth a fortune? Thanks so much for sharing.
I have a 1910-S Lincoln Cent, that I got back in change. The only reason I looked at it, is because it looked like a new penny. Low and behold, I was shocked to see the date 1910. You just never know, unless you look at your change. A lesson to all.
Thank Coin-Opp. You've got me checking my pocket change. Have you ever heard of an iron, chrome, or possibly silver mix planchet in a 1953 wheat penny? I've heard of a Canadian penny from the same year. America minted, still mints Canadian coins. Can you tell me anything. It is in flawless condition. Thank you.
+Steven Schleps no. We didn't mint any coin in 1953 with those compositions. I'm 99.999% sure why you have is a plated Lincoln cent. Very very common People plate them all the time. Sometimes is a school project. There are also companies that will plate them and sell them in "plated sets". But to be certain weigh it. It should weigh 3.11 grams with proper allowence of 10% plus or minus.
Hello, I'm new at this and I was just wondering how much does this 40% silver planchet Kennedy Half weigh? Is this one way of finding out if you have a 40% silver coin? Thanks
i have a lot of old coins as well as i try to save one coin from each year. i am battling cancer now and have decide to find out how much my coins are worth and to sell them cause i can't take them with me to my grave. can you please tell me where i can go to find out if i got any coin that may be worth more the the coin vault? thxs so much.

Nice. I’ve got old coins. Not sure what to do. I don’t trust a lot of people.

It depends if it is a mint error then yes. If it is missing due to after minting damage then no.

Ever wonder WHY "they" stopped or reduced the silver content in 1964...
Becuz it started to cost more in silver content then actual denomination of coin. So they would be losing money. Silver got popular around then.
If you polish it you'll drop its value significantly. The value doesn't depend on how clean it is, but how original it is. DON'T polish coins!

I have a 1964 accented hair gold plated looks pretty close to that proof cameo and a gold plated 1967 ddo!!
I purchased a proof set 10 years ago from the Philadelphia mint and believe I have a 1964 Kennedy half dollar with extra hair and weird I. What should I do? where should I go to get it appraised?
Holy sh#t. I just found two #3 coins in my Grandpa’s collection. I wonder where I can get them appraised in Toronto, Canada.
I got Kennedy half dollor coins of 1967 and 1971. I heard in the video that in an auction 1971 Coins was sold for around $6000, What will be the price for that now?
Ya my name is troy Patterson I found a 1972 D half dollar without the fg does that mean anything
It's worth money because it's missing the fg. Click on the link of his page and look through some of the previous videos you should find it.
Good Morning Sir I'm having half dollar coins of Kennedy of 1966/1967 with me and I wish to know the price of the coins and sell them too
if anyone can help me out with where to start that would be great!

Hello ,I have the 1964 half dollor where is the best place to sell, thank you
Your local coin store is where I would start. Don't expect to get the kind of money the coins in this video get as they are all "Varieties" Thanks for watching.
i just went through my collection and found a 1966 kennedy half dollar silver rim, worth anything ?
90% silver I think
Bonus Tip...Before you go and melt down old rare coins for the pennies worth of SILVER ask yourself... "Is there a hidden message" or is it just a pretty picture on a piece of silver ? As we see when we fold certain paper currency... (I'd be curious in the back story of your "Bonus Coin")
We're there 1968-D halves struck on 90% planchets? I have a frosty white-looking one without the copper rainbow look on the reeded-edge.

I have a half dollar 1967 coin and One cent 1940 S n 1955 D. How can i sell these coins?
Hi. I have a ‘67 Kennedy struck on a copper planchette. Is that an oddity? Ty.
Great advice on the Kennedy Half Dollars.....
I really enjoyed this video. I have a collection of coins given by family members and friends but where can I find the meaning of terms used such as ender and NIFC? If you could direct me I would be able to look at my coins with more meaning or understanding
Thanks for the clarification and how much it is today, please
On 40% silver can you see any copper on the edge? I have a 72(I believe) where the copper is a very thin copper line, compared to the other halves in that era.
Robert Lawson, I have a 1932 dollar coin with wrong print of TRVST instead of TRUST. Just found it today after I watched your video. Is it worth a fortune? Thanks so much for sharing.
They said trvst
I have a 1910-S Lincoln Cent, that I got back in change. The only reason I looked at it, is because it looked like a new penny.
Low and behold, I was shocked to see the date 1910. You just never know, unless you look at your change. A lesson to all.
Hi, I have a 1971 d half dollar , how much should i sell it for?
Thank Coin-Opp. You've got me checking my pocket change. Have you ever heard of an iron, chrome, or possibly silver mix planchet in a 1953 wheat penny? I've heard of a Canadian penny from the same year. America minted, still mints Canadian coins. Can you tell me anything. It is in flawless condition.
Thank you.
+Steven Schleps no. We didn't mint any coin in 1953 with those compositions. I'm 99.999% sure why you have is a plated Lincoln cent. Very very common
People plate them all the time. Sometimes is a school project. There are also companies that will plate them and sell them in "plated sets". But to be certain weigh it. It should weigh 3.11 grams with proper allowence of 10% plus or minus.
