- In this weeks video I’m going to declutter and clean my kitchen. It’s gotten a little out of control the past couple weeks with me focusing most of my free time on decluttering the basement.
Once I get the kitchen back in order I’m going to show you my girls bathroom now that the wallpaper has been removed and it’s been painted.
It looks great but definitely needs some decor to make it look cute. So I’ll be decorating their bathroom in todays video as well ❤️

Black looks great! Second shower curtain and I would paint the cabinet light blue instead of several colors. As for the picture, hang it and look at it off and on for several days and that will help you decide if you want to paint it black. :)
OMG Jodi. Love the bathroom. Shower curtain number two is definitely a winner. If it were my bathroom I would paint the yellow doors green. Do yourself a favor and get that caulk fixed quickly. You’re gonna have water running down behind the walls and causing a leak on the first floor. My husband does waterproofing for a living. He says that you should go get silicone. Also get yourself a plastic shower curtain liner that will also help keep water off the bathroom floor. Do not buy a fabric one they just get moldy. Heavy duty plastic with magnets on the bottom are the best
My thoughts...Add black trim around mirror to look super expensive. Then move small shelf to center above toilet and it'll look centered on wall too. Maybe a lavender instead of yellow to match shower curtain of green, blue and purple...very pretty either way!
You could make a Gus memory box and when you are ready to go through it and declutter you can or if you decide to bring in a new doggie you could let the new dog play with Gus’s toys and that way it keeps the memory of Gus alive. There is no time limit in grieving. You are doing an amazing job. I have loved going back through your videos and watching them. Thank you for sharing.

I love the second curtain. I would change the cabinet doors to greens and if you want to keep the yellow change the green drawers to yellow. That way it will be less yellow but still a bright pop. This bathroom make over is so great!

That was a very sweet thought of the subscriber, to send you a framed picture of your late pet. When we had to put our big boy to sleep, (he had cancer), the vet's office sent a paw print plaster home with him, and we set it in his headstone. It's so hard to lose our beloved friends but it helps to remember how much they were loved 💓 They are such a big part of our lives!

Change the yellow doors to a lavendar from the shower curtain. I love the multi-colored vanity.
Hi Jodi , The bathroom makeover looks wonderful. The second shower curtain looks better and I would paint the vanity blue and greens and take away the yellow, as the shower curtain , faucet and knobs are cool toned and the yellow is warm toned. Yes , center the shelf with the toilet . Great job , so inviting and clean 👌

Hi Jodi. I moved about six years ago into a much smaller house. The items are all over the place and taking up too my space in my life. Started decluttering a while ago but then started couponing....LOL. Your videos have resparked my desire to just let go and take back my life. Thank you so much. Love the second shower curtain. The bathroom is sooo pretty! I love the black touches. I would paint the cabinets blue. The shower curtain is beautiful. Paint the picture frame black. Love the transformation!!
My next project is completing my paper organization in our office. I liked the shower curtain with the leaves the best and your girls' bathroom looks great. Also run the tub full of water before you put the caulk in and then let it set up. The weight of the water pulls the tub down and then you can get enough caulk and you won't have the problem with the caulk again.

Jodi, great job on declutering the kitchen cabinet and starting the memory boxes for your girls. I love the bathroom, the black looks awesome and the 2nd shower curtain is my favorite, but since it's the girls bathroom, let them make the decision. 😁 The sparkly soap dispensers are beautiful and the pictures and plaques you've chosen are such a nice touch. So fun to watch your home turn into what you've been picturing in your mind. Like a cocoon turning into a butterfly...Love your laugh and bubbly personality.

The 2nd shower curtain is definitely the one and perfect. I think the frame over the toilet needs to be black. I would get a cane basket for anything resting on the toilet.
In the kitchen, I would think about storing your salt and pepper shakers off the stove top and clearing the fridge front and the Knick knacks on top of the microwave. Reducing the clutter helps keep the kitchen looking clean with less visual clutter. What a great job you have done. Love it. ❤️

Always happy to see you post! Quick tip: keep a bunch of reusable bags in your car so that when you go shopping/couponing you dont need to use plastic bags!

I agree. Dawn dish soap cleans so much. I decluttered my kids clothing stash from their faves that I saved to make quilts out of. So I'm now working on my 3rd daughter's hugging quilt for when I'm gone. ( She will be able to get a hug from me anytime she likes)
I am sewing it entirely by hand with just a needle thread & scissors from pieces from those clothes.

Maybe you can make a Gus memory box with a favorite toy, pictures, his collar, etc. Once you know you have the important things safe, you might be able to let the other stuff go. So sorry for your loss.
Jodi...I just decluttered and cleaned my basement also. I took SOOOO much to the donation center. My bins are organized and labeled so nicely. I had a friend over the other and she commented on how amazing the basement looked. Thank you for your motivation to clean my basement! 🤗

I like the shower curtain with the leaves best. Perhaps you could use the purple color from the shower curtain on the vanity doors. The bathroom looks great and you are adorable, Jodi!
If you repainted the yellow on your girls vanity either teal/turquoise...matching your shower curtain would look nice ..also carrying the same color for some hand towels might tie everything together even more,also a tiny little pedestal stand for your daughters tiny little succulent will make it more to scale on the shelf...the room looks very nice!!!!

Even a little teal or blue hand towel would be nice 😊 I needed to hear your message today I was made redundant at my job on the 4th of feb it was a shock and didn’t see it coming. ❤️❤️❤️ the girls bathroom, the black looks great!! The sparkle ✨ is perfect on the soap dispensers. Just get black toothbrush holders and maybe some bath rugs/mats. Only other suggestion would be to take the sign you have on shelf over 🚽 and hang it on the wall just slightly above where it sits now. Love the bathroom !! Black stands out. Definitely the 2nd shower curtain. The cabinets I think painting the yellow with either a darker green or blue would match the shower curtain. Paint the picture frame black it would make it pop. Just a recommendation change the towel it blends in with the wall with a colored 1 maybe little blue !! Working on decluttering my holiday decorations.
I loved the basement declutter videos, so proud of you, you did a great job! I also appreciate you showing how your kitchen is now too, I think you're doing great!! Maybe you could put the extra serving wear in the dining room cupboards/drawers?? I think I remember there being some space 😻
The bathroom is so pretty! One of the best things about parenting is teaching your kiddos you can take something and improve it with paint, etc and sparkly things help!
My organizing project this month is rotating my stockpile, making an updated inventory & updating/rotating food & supplies in my emergency “go bags”
Hey Jodi! I'm currently working on decluttering the entire house, just like you did! My dad has been really good with getting rid of stuff and so has my sister so the house is coming along nicely :D Still quite a bit left to declutter and get rid of and clean up but we're getting there! This summer, when it gets warmer, we're even going to declutter and clean the yard!

I like the second shower curtain. Love the black faucets.
The bathroom looks great!! The second shower curtain looks better; I would paint the yellow parts of the vanity one of the colors on the other drawers; the shelf should be center over the toilet (measure from the wall to the end of the vanity sink, not the mirror). While you have the paint out, I would also paint the wooden part of the shelf to match the vanity, and switch out to a white towel.
That little sign on the shelf, can you hang it just a little bit above the shelf, to be more readable … also would make her little succulent fit better
If you were going to keep the yellow doors I would use the first shower curtain since it had yellow in it. I like the 2nd curtain better overall. The bathroom looks great. Your enthusiasm is a breath of fresh air.

Hey Jodi! I know you just painted the vanity and it's so cute. But the vanity painted in the darker blue color in your shower curtain would be soooo pretty. Especially with your black handles. Just a suggestion.
I would paint the whole vanity.
I think above the toilet is perfect. I also think you should paint the other doors blue and it would tie everything together. The shelf is fine. It should be centered with the wall. You did a great job. You should be proud. Now that you are getting your house together, you can now invite your family over and have gatherings. I know you mentioned how someone had mentioned that your house was messy. Well look at you now. It should make you happy.
This MIGHT be old wives tales! But when I learned to caulk a tub, I was told to fill it half way up with water while it was drying. If you don't, then when someone gets in the tub after it's dried to shower, the tub flexes a TEENY little bit with the weight of the person, and you get mirco tears in the caulk and water gets behind the sealant and it'll come loose. Also, I've only ever used silicone caulk, because I'm allergic to latex, so I can't speak to that issue. You're doing great Jodi! And the bathroom looks amazing!
OMG I'm replying to myself!! Haha! You also have to use a de-greaser/deglosser to make sure the tub is SUPER clean before you seal!!

Love the black accents! I'd definitely go with the 2nd shower curtain. And love, love, love the soap dispensers with the black pumps. Good call on that. And the signs are so encouraging!
I'd center the shelf with the toilet, because the vanity goes out farther than the mirror. So the toilet is actually more centered. The shelf is adorable. But from the camera angle, it looks like you can't read the figureoutable. I'd hang that sign next to the window. Then put a candle or something with the plant(s).
I'd definitely paint the "good day" sign's frame black.
Paint the yellow doors purple and add some purple flowers to the vase. Or replace the yellow one's with purple ones.
Or leave it just how you have it. Just the paint, removing the shower doors and the black accents, have truly transformed their bathroom. I'm so happy for them.

You could add some privacy film to that window, especially the bottom part! It will still let light in but no one can see in. The second shower curtain looks great! I recommend buying a fabric shower liner, they are easily washable and look nicer than the plastic ones. I’ve had the same liner for 10+ years that I just keep throwing in the wash to get clean.
I like all the choices. But I'd say the second shower curtain and the black pumps. LOVE those soap dispensers. I want them! I think the curtains look great! You could eventually frame in the mirror, unless you think it's too much black.

I like the second shower curtain. Look for the Double sided shower hooks it makes life so much easier to take down the curtains and wash them he has a hook on the outside in the inside 1 for the outside curtain and 1 for the inside curtain. Love the black. I think the picture needs painted black to match the the wood is to start compared to all the other stuff. The room looks so great
The bathroom is beautiful! The second shower curtain is the best one.
I would center the shelf above the toilet. I love how the room came together! I would mount the little sign about an inch or two higher than it is right now, so it sort of floats in the shelf if that makes sense. Then it's more easily readable from the floor.

I'm the same way I have all my kids report cards. I also save a few pieces of work each school year in a folder so they can look back at. I'm honestly at the point of maintaining my home organized. We did alot of decluttering during the pandemic. I was home with the kids since I'm in education so we're just trying to maintain what we have decluttered

I love the bathroom makeover. I would suggest painting the whole vanity a single color. Love the second shower curtain. It looks so good in there. Just bright and clean. Good job on the kitchen also. What about making a basket of xtra utensils for when you have xtra people in the kitchen with you that you can keep out away the rest of the time? Do your clutter free and you keep mama happy. 😁
