"Its good to put your head in there sometimes" ...Karen! I had to stop the video, I was laughing so hard. So enjoying your daily postings. When you first started I didn't know how you were going to do it. I have health issues and have struggled with all or nothing or going past limits to finish or thinking this little bit won't do anything. I don't comment hardly on any channel I watch and that's something I want to change because I wanted you to know that what your doing and HOW you do it has helped me. I can't even comprehend how/what it takes to do this sort of thing on TH-cam and I know its statistics and algorithms and maybe the comments are your only "review" you receive and the responses of some yuck but I wanted You to know you have impacted my wellbeing and I appreciate you and you kindness and..your family. Thanks Karen

Maybe instead of getting rid of the coffee cups, found out which ones they use the most and then box up the rest and put them in basement. As for Robyn’s cups that are sentimental ones, make a shelf or spot in his office so he can look and enjoy them

You can “vacuum seal” your bags by sealing them most of the way with a straw sticking out and suck the air out. Then just pull the straw out quickly and seal it the rest of the way.
I’ve found it keeps the food from forming ice crystals and keeping it fresh longer.

As far as the kitchen goes, the pantry i go through it every 3 months and if i don't think we will eat it in the next 3 months, I donate it to the food bank. Sometimes we just hold onto stuff for no reason. I know a lot of us are guilty of it. I am such a regular donating at the food bank that they know my car now.thaat way it won't go to waste and also It helps me learn what not to buy again or only if i am going to for real eat it that night.

Suggestion: store your cook books on top of your fridge? That would clear up counter space maybe.

Your videos are so inspiring to me! We had a chaotic move one week ago - and there is going to be some chaos in my home for longer than I want. My Fibro is flaring and there is so much to do. BUT I am trying to give myself grace and do as I can. I am decluttering things I should have already decluttered, but I refuse to let it stop me.

Our power went out the other night right before dinner, so we got Chinese, it was a whopping $80! I wish I had just ordered pizza. We seldom eat out. Besides the mortgage, food is our biggest expenses, so any savings really makes a difference!

    • @KlingonPrincess

I ordered pizza the other day, extra large for leftovers for a few meals, it was purt near $60 plus I tip $5. Next time I may do take-and-bake even if it's not as good. My local Chinese has a great selection for lunch combos, all around $12. When I'm craving, that's my go to. Restaurant prices are shocking now.

Pancakes, bananas, and avocados all freeze well. If your freezer is easier to manage, then maybe consider moving those to the freezer just like you do with the meat.

•vinegar was an excellent choice for the towels; helps them rinse fully and stay soft and absorbent. Softener is never good in towels.. can encourage product buildup leading to odors, and prevents them from being as absorbent as possible.
•be mindful when using ‘calming’ or ‘sleepy’ teas if you are taking prescription antidepressants/anti anxiety.
    • Robin definitely needs to declutter some cups lol
•with limited cabinet space, I screwed cup hooks under cabinets to hang them.
•I’d probably change my mind about drinking tea, tbh, if I had to haul a stuffed bin out to find one 🤷🏻‍♀️

I need to plant flowers I can pick to put in a vase. We have hibiscus flowers bloom every day but they only last one day in a vase and they close up.

Karen, the little vase you were given for your birthday looked very sweet with the garden flowers in it. Also, the pine cone wreath you’ve been working on is looking absolutely gorgeous.
Regards the kitchen, well done on the mini declutter of your mugs, water bottles and drinks cabinet. However, I don’t get why you would throw out perfectly good creamer and tea, it seems a little wasteful. Plus, and I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but you always seem to be throwing out a lot of meat fairly regularly. This amazes me, as meat is so expensive in the UK, we couldn’t possibly afford to do that on a regular basis. Have you thought that maybe as well as trying to use up your freezer and pantry, that you do an inventory of how much meat on average you actually use each week; and how many leftovers you are throwing out each week. That way you might be able to work out why the wastage keeps happening and think of ways to reduce it.

You are wasting perfectly good tea. The date is best by, not expired by. It is safe to drink for a long time after best by date. Certainly, at least 6 months or more after that date. It is not spoiled on the date, just possibly as not as strong as time passes.

    • @SparrowStockwell
      @SparrowStockwell หลายเดือนก่อน +3

But remember that Karen has some in her household who have a very real concern about expired food due to serious existing health concerns. I don’t think she would throw it away except for wanting to be sensitive to her daughters.
