That's guaranteed if you look at the current similar line up. I bet the SE, Module and VST have already been designed and are just waiting to be made available.
In the original Mono/Poly's, each step of the arpeggiator triggers a different oscillator. I love that effect. Can the Multi/Poly do that as well? Love the design of this new synth!
You won't. This one is based on a universal architecture that they can slap several other synths in this same chassis with a Raspberry Pie as the processor rather than an upper level CPU, making it very profitable.
This is really cool. I'm impressed with the layout and the full-size keys and the big pitch/mod wheels. It's funny that this came out the same day as the Digitone 2, and they're both $900. And which one are people saying is too expensive?
Yes, agree on both counts. With plenty of keybords now offering polyphonic aftertouch, that non-aftertouch keybed is so out of date - really needs to be ditched going forward. I am just buying the 'nativ'e plug-ins for now, but would definitely get some of these if they had decent keybeds.
@@panrhesis Putting a larger, color display would probably have been more expensive and complicated, so they recycled some of the user interface from their other 3 Raspberry PI-based synths.
@@peterpeper4837 I did. It has some interesting sounds (based on another video I’ve watched), but I’m not sure it’s worth wading through just for them. And they’re starting off at $900 … So many options, these days.
Slightly reminder: I bet you on a couple of years, Korg will be releasing their "MK2" on this, Korg is well know for not giving a proper life to their models, adding some "extras" to the most newer synts, just like the OpSix, Wavestate, Wavetable, MS20, you name it! Adding more features and even releasing a 61 keybed version with a hardcase, subtracting value to the firsts versions of the synts. Just saying that we should let this synth mature and see how it goes, and take in mind that on a couple of years will be an improved version of this
That’s what I was looking for, I loved it. But it took so long, I got the Opsix and a Behringer pro800 and I can’t afford almost 1000 eu on it. Korg would be more friendly with pricing - the form factor of these digital is simple and cheap; even these wooden cheeks don’t add that much to the price. A minilogue costs less and is built so much better that, so these new prices are scandalous.
In more, this editor seems so nice and that was lacking in the other synths - unless you paid for the software versions. It looks like this Multi Poly got the love that it deserves, but that love would be shared to its old digital siblings as well. Poor MkI are forgotten, and it is hard to commit money with a new Korg without trusting there will be support and updates for more than a year.
@@Asmuk-yes, the lack of updates for the Drumlogue has been disappointing, which is surprising considering how excellent the Monologue, Minilogue and Prologue are. With that said, I'm still very excited for the new "acoustic synthesis" PHASE 8 from Korg. I have a feeling that'll be a future classic.
From the video demonstration, I could only hear functionality and sounds that are not much different from Xfer Serum. In terms of sound intensity, 56300 OsTirus is even better than what was demonstrated in the video.
TBH the manufacturers cannot keep up with synths and should be putting out more analog stuff to differciate themselves from what we can already do on the computer...
@@ritchxmusic Actually, I don’t understand what the developers are thinking. The sound quality of the Minilogue XD is much better than this synthesizer, yet the new product still doesn't compare to the Minilogue XD.
@@BassFatCat the fact that a famously analog sounding synth has wavetables now shows a lack of vision in the product and therefore in future updates of that product. I'm out, on this one.
Does anyone else feel like they are building all these synths? Wavestate, OP6, Multipoly... to then throw into a new flagship workstation keyboard down the line?
Why didn't you use the old Mono/Poly font which has a real cool look? On all synths I would like to see an EXT INPUT and a DJ Filter right on the output with HI and LO PASS. Also a sidechain input for a kick would be welcome on all synths going forward. I also would like to see a dedicated higher level CPU than a Raspberry Pi on the Multi/Poly 2.
Sounds great. Maybe it's time to come up with new naming ideas though, becaause the mono/poly/multi/logue/mode-thing seems to be reaching its' limmits...why not just name the next model Timmy, or Lisa...
Should have been analog tho?? 🤷♂ And what has wavetable synthesis got to do with the monopoly legacy? Congrats but I am confused with this release. If I am looking for virtual analog I've got Diva. I'm not sure what else this is giving me besides wavestables that aren't relevant to the legacy or to my needs either. But who am I, I suppose you've done your homework and know enough people will want this but its not going to be me this time. Love Korg tho.
WHY would a successor to the monopoly have WAVETABLE and DIGITAL sounds tho??? It makes zero sense. Throw everything in one box and someone will buy it, thats the logic.
when a new version of radias? In gold skin, it will be the "radiator" 😂 but please korg, first FINNISH the synths you made before presenting new ones, make the librairians look as kool as your synths (hire a ui designer 🙏), think of people who only have one hand 😊. please ❤
